I think that I have mentioned before that my favorite thing about Polish Pick Up is that I am exposed to tons of brands that I don’t normally purchase from. Now that I have imposed a budget on myself to help me curb out of control make up and polish spending, I have to be very picky when it comes to my purchases. Last month I bought a few items and one of them was this gorgeous polish: Illyrian Narrow Sea. Let me show you some swatches and stamping below! Continue reading “Illyrian Narrow Sea”

KBShimmer un-Staple – PPU May 2018
I fell off the wagon in the last month or so and have been overspending which completely messed up my budget. I feel pretty bad about it–enough that I skipped PPU in April. I had so many polishes on my want list that I knew if I bought one, I would buy them all so I had to lay low for those few days until I made it past the debilitating temptation. Well, I know I will not be that lucky in May because I already have a few polishes on my list that I refuse to pass on. I even have a list going for some of my co-workers! For May, the theme is the 90’s so you know it’s going to be good! KBShimmer has a ridiculously fun and gorgeous polish planned inspired by the movie Office Space. Let me show you some swatches of KBShimmer un-Staple before I let you know what I think. Continue reading “KBShimmer un-Staple – PPU May 2018”
Zoya Sunshine Summer 2018 Collection
Hi friends! I hope that you’re all doing well. Things have been a little slow on the blogging side because I’ve had a bunch of stuff going on. I haven’t been as active in doing nail stuff because of it, but I definitely won’t fall off the face of the earth again. On Friday I received a huge package that contained the Zoya Sunshine Summer 2018 Collection, and I was excited to try them out. I feel like I always mention this, but I am always excited to get my hands on lovely cremes, so I was happy to see that this is a heavy creme collection. Let me show you some swatches below before I tell you my thoughts. Continue reading “Zoya Sunshine Summer 2018 Collection”
China Glaze Channelesque – #vintagepolishfriday
When I first started collecting nail polish, China Glaze was one of the first brands that I focused on. I knew that it would be hard to get some of the more sought after shades like those from the OMG Collection, so I searched out other colors that I came across on makeupalley. Do you guys remember when Sephora by OPI put out Metro Chic? It was pretty much impossible to get for a while, and then I saw people talking about how similar it was to China Glaze Channelesque. Well, that is when it went on my list, and I started looking for it at my beauty supply stores. Imagine my surprise when one day I found multiple bottles in some forgotten corner at one of my favorite beauty supply stores. Let me show you some swatches because I talk more about this polish. Lantern & Wren Clear Jelly Stamper
As you may have noticed, I have been stamping a lot lately. Stamping really is my first nail art love, so I’m happy to be trying new things. Last month I purchased the Lantern & Wren Clear Jelly Stamper from Polish Pick Up so I have very excited to finally get it. I am such a creature of habit that I still use my old Konad stampers, but a couple of months ago I decided to try a clear stamper. The Pueen stamper that I bought was a little hit and miss, so I wanted to try a different clear stamper to see if I could get better results. Let’s continue below so I can tell you what I thought of the Lantern & Wren Clear Jelly Stamper. Continue reading “Lantern & Wren Clear Jelly Stamper”
Cre8tion Stamping Nail Art Lacquer
When I first started stamping back in 2011, I don’t remember there being much to choose from when it came to stamping polishes. In fact, I only remember Konad and I wondered if we would ever get more option. The Konad White and Black stamping polishes were the first stamping polishes that I ever purchased, and they became staples in my collection. I think that if you have a dependable white/black in your collection, you can basically do anything. I have started to brand out when it comes to my stampers as well as you can see in my Pueen Clear Stamper review, but I wasn’t entire successful with it. No matter how hard I tried, my usual stamping polishes did not work as well with my clear stamper. When I was checking out new stuff at my beauty supply stores, I saw a display full of stamping polishes, and I flipped out because they had tons of colors. With trepidation, I picked the white and black shades to try out. Will these Cre8tion Stamping Nail Art Lacquer shades be duds? Let me show you below. Orly Satin Finesse – #vintagepolishfriday
What a busy week this has turned out to be! I took an extra day off this week since I had planned a bunch off Easter stuff with my nephews this weekend, but I’m still tired even though I had a short work week. One of the new things that I am planning to start is getting my butt to the gym. You don’t know how long I have put off going to the gym, but I am going to force myself to take the first step. Physically, I have been feeling terrible for a long time, but it seems like my close brush with death last year did not sufficiently motivate me. Seriously…what will it take? I guess that I am just tired of feeling bad and it’s depressing that feeling terrible is my normal. Anywho, I hope that this is my first step to a better me. As for today’s Vintage Polish Friday, I have another beautiful sating finish polish to share with you: Orly Satin Finesse. Let’s take a look at some swatches. Pahlish The Land Of Tears
Is there a book that speaks to your soul? I am very lucky to have discovered so many works of art that have changed my life, my perspective and my way of seeing the word, and one of those is The Little Prince. I have adored this simple but extremely meaningful tale since we were tasked with reading it for my French class in high school. When I saw that the inspiration for Pahlish The Land Of Tears was indeed The Little Prince, I knew it had to be mine. Let me show you some swatches below. Continue reading “Pahlish The Land Of Tears”
Colors by Llarowe Spring Forward – POTM April 2018
Hello, hello! Can you believe it’s already the first week of April? Every time April rolls around, I get the urge to revisit The Wasteland: “April is the cruelest month, breeding lilacs out of the dead land, mixing memory and desire, stirring dull roots with spring rain.” I have always loved Modernist poetry and literature with a fiery passion and wish I had more time to just read. This April, I have a few monthly polishes to share with you, one of them being Colors by Llarowe Spring Forward which is the Polish of the Month for April 2018. Let’s take a look at the polish below. Cadillacquer Fan Collection
Here in he states, we are very lucky to have so many mainstream and indie brands that are easily accessible. Sometimes I forget that nailistas in other countries are not as fortunate, but because there are so many awesome stockists now, the accessibility barriers are coming down a bit. Today I have an awesome post to share with you, and I am very excited because this is my first experience with Cadillacquer which is a Swiss brand. The Cadillacquer Fan Collection was created in collaboration with…FANS! I love the idea of this so there will be a lot of information regarding the fan and inspiration behind each shade so grab some snacks and survival gear so we can dive right in!
