Zoya Sunshine Summer 2018 Collection

Hi friends! I hope that you’re all doing well. Things have been a little slow on the blogging side because I’ve had a bunch of stuff going on. I haven’t been as active in doing nail stuff because of it, but I definitely won’t fall off the face of the earth again. On Friday I received a huge package that contained the Zoya Sunshine Summer 2018 Collection, and I was excited to try them out. I feel like I always mention this, but I am always excited to get my hands on lovely cremes, so I was happy to see that this is a heavy creme collection. Let me show you some swatches below before I tell you my thoughts.

This is a pretty big 12 piece collection! Let’s start of with the good: the formula on most of these is really nice. They are all mostly 2 coaters and have great pigmentation. The one shade that gave me a lot of trouble is Clementine which makes me sad because it’s one of my top favorites from this collection. Clementine was rather thin and required 3 coats…or 4 on certain nails. The sparkly top coat shades Nahla and Saldana are nice, but there is nothing terribly unique about them. I do like how they look layered so I’m sure that I will use them again. Now, as far as the color palette–I’m not a huge fan. Most people have or will mention that this is a heavy pink/red collection which is fine, but I would have loved to see more variety in a Summer Collection. I am so used to seeing juicy collections from Zoya and this was so monochromatic. Despite the color palette, there are some really nice staple shades here which I can recommend: Delia, Virginia, Minnie, Ellie and Sandy are my top picks for sure. Also…why the recycled collection name? There was already a Sunshine Collection in 2011 and it was super confusing to me when I first realized it. Not really a gripe, I guess…but, you know. So what do you think about this collection? Will you be purchasing any of these shades? The Zoya Sunshine Summer 2018 Collection will be available on May 1st and each bottle will retail for $10 on zoya.com. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon.

  1. Wow Zoya needs to hire some more creative people. I haven’t bought any of their new collections lately, just replacing my older ones.

  2. I’m kind of underwhelmed. I feel I already have several of these shades from Zoya. Clementine is pretty…but I hate hearing the formula wasn’t the best. I’ll probably pass on these. Pretty but nothing special.

  3. I agree with all the other commenters on here today. But, I plan to purchase Clementine because I normally use 3 coats of polish in every manicure. They are thin coats, to allow for adequate dry time, but I feel I need the coverage and richness. Thanks for your gorgeous swatches, Cynthia!!

  4. Clementine and Virginia are my favorites! Not really a fan of the glitters, I was expecting something different with them.
