I don’t want to jinx it, but the weather has been rather lovely in the last week or so. Summer is officially wrapping up, but us Californians know that we can expect hellish days through October. For now, I am just enjoying the cooler weather. This weekend was the epitome of laziness: I didn’t have anything planned so I basically chilled out and watched a lot of movies. The one thing I am glad to have accomplished is that I cleaned out the majority of my my make up stash. I am not kidding when I say that I probably threw out hundreds of dollars worth of old make up. It hurt my soul a little to throw away that much product, but that only reminds me that I need to buy only the things that I truly need. Now that I have confirmed that I not only hoard nail polish but also make up, let’s get to the meat of today’s post. Hi there. I hope your week is going smashingly well. Even though it’s a short workweek for me due to the Labor Day holiday, I’ve been pretty busy so the days are just flying by. Now that we are in September, I am getting ready for my birthday time off. I took a few days just to veg out and relax so I’m definitely looking forward to that towards the end of the month. I’ve been laughing at myself lately because it seems like everything is going to pot. I keep having random issues pop up no matter how well I plan things out. I don’t know about you, but I feel like I had a really nice weekend. I didn’t do much, but I spent some time with friends and just relaxed. I’m kinda freaking out that it’s almost August. I mean, it seems that Summer is just rushing by! I am not complaining because I hate the heat and I don’t have AC, but it’s kind of scary that the next thing I know it will be 2019. If you keep up with all the happenings in Polish Pickup, you would know that the hardworking ladies from PPU took July off which gave makers the opportunity bring back fan favorites. KBShimmer Wanderlust Collection
I basically spent my early 20’s traveling all around the world, and I am grateful that I had these opportunities every second of my life. I started traveling during my year abroad and basically did not stop until my mid 20’s. This was possible because after I got back home from France, I took a job with Air France and then with Delta. It was such an awesome time in my life, and I always look back on my experiences as opportunities that helped shape the person I am today. KBShimmer Insert Coin – PPU June 2018
Did you hear that the theme for June PPU is video games? Ahhhh! I am so excited about this because video games were my life when I was a kid. I know I’m aging myself here, but I remember begging my parents for an NES. They didn’t get us one right away, but when they finally did, it was like my life was made. Prior to that, my brother was obsessed with arcades, so I was all too familiar with hoarding a bunch of coins so we could go to the arcade. KBShimmer un-Staple – PPU May 2018
I fell off the wagon in the last month or so and have been overspending which completely messed up my budget. I feel pretty bad about it–enough that I skipped PPU in April. I had so many polishes on my want list that I knew if I bought one, I would buy them all so I had to lay low for those few days until I made it past the debilitating temptation. Well, I know I will not be that lucky in May because I already have a few polishes on my list that I refuse to pass on. I even have a list going for some of my co-workers! For May, the theme is the 90’s so you know it’s going to be good! KBShimmer has a ridiculously fun and gorgeous polish planned inspired by the movie Office Space. China Glaze Xpress-Ahh! – #vintagepolishfriday
I don’t think that I have ever been a fan of a simple brown color for my nails. The closest I ever came to it was when I became obsessed with Tom Ford Bitter Bitch strictly because of the name.
