LeChat Dare To Wear Sugar Me Up Collection

I don’t know if it’s just my hot flashes or what, but it’s been really hot here lately. In fact, this morning I was sweating and it was only 5 am! On second thought, it probably is just hot flashes so ignore me.  This morning was pure torture waking up so I hope that I’ll be able to get to bed early tonight. You know what my favorite part of my morning ritual is? It’s when my alarm rings and I hit the snooze button for 5 more minutes of sleep. Those 5 minutes feel heavenly even though I know that I’ll have to be up soon. This made me think of a question that I asked my group of girlfriends yesterday: How are people happy? What does it feel like to be happy? I honestly don’t think that I am happy, and I am constantly envious of those who appear to be happy. I dwell on all the things that I don’t like about myself and my life instead of focusing on the good things. This made me think of how necessary it is to be unhappy in order to truly appreciate happiness.  Would we appreciate youth without old age? Life without death? Probably not. I just need to find some balance in my life. Sometimes I tend to complain a lot about work, family stuff or other inconsequential things because they do seem overwhelming to me, but in the grand scheme of things, they are definitely not bad. I think that I am a worrier by nature so things will always seem a million times worse than they really are. I don’t really know where I’m going with all of this, but I just felt that I needed a little dose of reflection.  Now that I got some of the heavy stuff out of the way, can we get back to polish? Ha! Today I have something light and delightful to show you: the LeChat Dare To Wear Sugar Me Up Collection. The formula on all of these is rather similar so I’ll show you my swatches, and then we can get into the details.

Overall, I really like this collection. It’s sugary, sweet and fun which is just what I would expect from a Spring collection. I can’t say that the colors are all that unique, but these polishes have a nice formula that I enjoyed. A couple of these polishes (Spearmint and Rock Candy) have some shimmer in them, but the rest have a crelly type formula. Since I prefer using thin coats, I applied 3 thin coats for all of these but 2 thicker coats would have gotten the job done. I think that we have seen a lot of similar colors as of late, so I’ll be putting these up on my blog sale. If you’ve never tried LeChat’s Dear To Wear line, this would be a good opportunity to give them a try. I’ve been very happy and impressed with their polishes and was excited about the way they have revamped their line.  What do you think about these polishes? Do you have any suggestions on how to relax and live in the moment instead of worrying about anything and everything? I hope you’re having a nice Monday, and thank you so much for visiting today.

Of course as soon as I read this post’s title, my brain started screaming, “POUR SOME SUGAR ON ME!!!”
Also – it may not just be hot flashes! Hahaha. It’s supposed to be super warm this week (as I’m sure it is for you, too), and I could already feel that oppressive stickiness starting when I was getting ready today…that “I’m kind of sweating, even though I just got out of the shower” feeling…UGH.
Well, these are pretty! I don’t *need* any of them, but they’re cute and fun!
See our emails regarding the life topic…I’ll be checking back here for input and words of wisdom.

I used to be so happy, but lately I feel like a grumpy biotch who gets annoyed at everything. I know it’s all stresses from my job that carry over into other areas of my life. At least my blog and my relationship keep me happy, but everything else pisses me off. I went to a stress management seminar thingy recently and the lady said ‘it’s so easy to be miserable, but it takes courage to be happy!’ and I haven’t forgotten that. I think I might buy a bracelet or something with the word courage on it. Then whenever i get crabby i will glance down at it and remember that I should be a bigger person and just keep smiling. Also, watching a depressing movie about things like genocide or war or illness always help adjust my priorities a little. I’m trying….

That’s a really good saying – I might have to print it out and stick it next to my computer.

Such great colors! They just scream Spring to me and I love the variety in cremes and shimmer too.

This is a really great collection – all the colors are so bright and cheerful. I even like the yellow (shock!!). 😀

As far as happiness goes – I don’t think it’s a constant state of feeling, but more moments of pure joy or happiness. Sitting outside in the summer morning with a cup of coffee and listening to the birds sing – that is a moment of happiness. Listening to my husband tickle my children and hearing their howls of laughter & giggles – that’s a moment of happiness. Finishing a good book – a moment of happiness. Spending time with my family, some of whom I don’t see very often – a moment of happiness. Life won’t be a constant state of happiness, and I don’t believe we should chase after that feeling, but merely accept them as they come and cherish that moment.

Sorry to hear that you’re down in the dumps. :/
I get like this a lot as well, where I focus too much on what I’m unhappy with instead of all of the good in my life. I have found that coming to a place of acceptance helps a lot – Accepting instead of constantly warring with myself. All i can do is my best. It amazes me sometimes – I’m so much gentler with others than I am with myself!!
Hang in there… and I love these polishes – so pretty!!

Would definitely buy Mint Jubilee if I didn’t have to limit my spending Q.Q I had to talk myself out of it. It’s so pretty!

A friend of mine ordered some polishes of this brand and mentioned me that they last a lot and they’re smooth to apply.. I really like some of the colors they have!

Regarding happiness, i used to feel so unhappy for a while and faking that everything was fine you know.. Until one day i realized that i cant control what happens in my life, i can only control how i feel about things and i needed to let go and i needed to chillax more.. And stop caring so much about things i cant control.. And when i least expected, i just didnt care anymore about the things that made me feel sad.. And i felt, not happy actually but relaxed… And i know i’m getting there..

I really love the first three colors!! not original, but I still love them, no matter how many I already have in my stash =)
And Im a happy person… i guess I see so many miserable people around me that I see how ‘good’ i have it so I’m naturally happy =))

Self-reflection is the first step to feeling better!

Personally, I think the idea of happiness in itself is what stresses people out and results in overall unhappiness. I remember once I was watching Oprah and she said that the goal in life wasn’t to have a happy life, but to have a joy-filled life. No one person can be happy all the time. Life is gonna bitchslap you when you’re down more times than it will uplift you when you’re good. I’m a miserable person by nature (oh how I love being miserable) so I try to focus on small things that bring me joy: watching White Chicks for the 20293847th time, reading a really good book, quiet time in my room to stretch and relax my body, or my favourite going out with my friends for a night of dancing. But to me… the biggest thing is laughing. I’m usually the person in my social circle that is the clown but I’ve gotten together with older friends who make me laugh and we had a rib-achingly good time laughing. I laughed so much my nonexistent abs hurt! I hadn’t laughed like that in months!

I guess my unwarranted and unsolicited advice is to start laughing more and find healthy things that make you feel good in the moment and try to fill your days with those because you can’t avoid the crap life will hand you. Sorry if I sound preachy!!

If all else fails, buy some more nail polish 😛
