Orly Uniquely Satin – #vintagepolishfriday

When I first started being a serious polish hoarder collector, one of my favorite things was finding beauty supply stores that are off the beaten path. Luckily, the area where I live is full of independent beauty supply stores and I quickly learned the ins and outs of these stores. A handful of them have closed and opened since I started collecting, so I ventured out further, even driving 2+hrs in search of the next great beauty supply. I have found a few that have new products as well as plentiful stock of old and discontinued polishes. In the last year, I had a lot of things going on that sucked the interest in nail polish out of me. Luckily, as you can see by my consistent posting, I’m back on track and hope to  visit some of these polish stores soon. During one of my outings, I discovered a bunch of old Orly polishes, one of them being Orly Uniquely Satin. Let me show you some swatches below before I tell you about the polish.

This polish looks a lot more purple in real life than what my pictures show. The formula on this polish is very watery and sheer so it requires multiple coats. The last time I used this polish I applied 3 coats and felt that it could have looked better with a 4th. This time around I did use 4 coats, and I am happy with the result. The polish dries incredibly quickly which is nice since you have to use so many coats. I love the beautiful satiny finish of this line.

And just for fun, I added some studs to my mani; I quite like how it turned out! I have so many nail art trinkets that I never use so I was glad to use these. I don’t have much information on these polishes so sadly I can’t tell you when they were released. They are rather hard to come by, but there are a few that pop up on ebay here and there. So what are you waiting for to join me for Vintage Polish Friday? If you do decide to join me, don’t forget to use the hashtag #vintagepolishfriday so I can see your manis. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon!

  1. I don’t think I’ve even seen the Orly before! It’s nice, and I really like it with the studs.

  2. The added studs look great with this beautiful colour. Sadly there aren’t many beauty supply stores near where I live x
