Don’t you just love Doctor Who? I spent my evening watching my favorite episodes again (10th Doctor all the way!!!), and I just can’t believe I didn’t even know about Doctor Who a couple of years ago. I still cry like a baby when I watch The Doctor and Rose say goodbye…I’ll never get over that. Besides watching tons of TV, I also did a crapton of swatching so I’ll have a lot of content for the following week. Today I have some swatches from the second part of the KBShimmer Summer 2014 Collection. You all know that I love KBShimmer to pieces, so I’m always excited to bring you these reviews. Let’s take a look at these beauties.

KBShimmer Sweet Wave 1KBShimmer Sweet Wave 2KBShimmer Sweet Wave

I loved every single one of these. These glitters are all so easy to work with and you never have to worry about not picking up enough glitter–if anything you can pick up too much. My favorite here has got to be Sea You Around because of the gorgeous green jelly base and the interesting glitter combination. If you’re interested in purchasing any of these beauties, head on over to the KBShimmer website where they retail from $7.50 to $8.75.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and good luck on Monday. You all know how I feel about Mondays. Thanks for the visit today, and I will talk to you soon.

Stamping Saturdays #27

Stamping Saturdays #27

One of the things that I like to do on Saturday mornings is to wake up a little early and go watch a movie by myself. Is that weird? There is a theater by my house where tickets are $5 for a matinee show and they have new movies! The cheapskate in me can’t resist this so I usually go once a week depending on what movies they have. Well, this morning I watched Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes and it was freaking awesome! I highly recommend it if you’re going to catch a movie this weekend. After the movie, I went to Sephora because I wanted to look at all the pretty nail polish and because I needed to buy some moisturizer. I’ve been using the same Clinique moisturizer since I was 14 years old if you can believe it. I have tried tons of different moisturizers over the years and I keep coming back to the original yellow lotion even after trying some that are much more luxurious and expensive. I really had to fight with myself because I wanted to buy one polish: Dolce &Gabbana Stromboli. At $25 for a .37oz bottle, I had to put it back because the price was too much for me to spend on one bottle of polish. I hate how reasonable I have become! I did use 500 of my VIB points to get 5 deluxe samples of Philosophy’s Hope In A Jar–the overnight version. I have super dry skin so I hope this is a good moisturizer to use at night. I rarely find any interesting samples at Sephora so I’m glad I got these. I almost got the Marc Jacobs 1,000 point perk, but I decided to pass because I don’t need ANOTHER lipstick or lipgloss even if they are MJ. Anyway, I’ve written a novel here and haven’t even mentioned my Stamping Saturdays mani so let’s take a look at the polish that I used as my base.Mentality Protect 1Mentality Protect 2I don’ know if you’re very familiar with Mentality nail polish, but you should be because they are some amazing products. Not only are the products top notch, but they are super reasonably priced and they offer free shipping! One of the things I hate about online shopping is having to pay for shipping, so I really appreciate their free and fast shipping. The other day, I saw that they were having a sale on their matte polishes (which are 4-free) because they will be switching to a 5-free base. Despite the fact that I’m drowning in polish, I couldn’t resist picking up a couple of bottles. Mentality Protect is a luxurious green matte polish that applied like a dream. I only needed two coats for full opacity and it dries incredibly fast. Gorgeous!

BM 313 1BM 313 2For my stamping, I used Essie Good As Gold and and image from Bundle Monster BM 313. I’ve been having Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on my mind recently because I can’t wait for the new movie to come out. The very first movie I ever saw at the movie theater was TMNT and of course I became obsessed with everything Ninja Turtles and spent countless hours playing the video games and watching the cartoons. Ahh, those were the good old days.

I know this clip is from the second movie, but who can resist Vanilla Ice? haha! Well, I hope you’re enjoying your Saturday so far and thank you for stopping by today. I’ll talk to you soon.

OPI Ford Mustang Collection 2014

You have absolutely no idea how happy I am that it is Friday. I am jumping out of my skin for it  to be the end of the workday so I can just relax and swatch my little heart out. I am so excited because of all the new collections that are coming out, especially the Nordic Collection, but I won’t say too much about that since this post is about the new OPI Ford Mustang Collection. I have to admit that I have zero interest in cars and absolutely hate driving, but I love looking at older cars. I think Mustangs are beautiful and I know that to some people, cars are what nail polish is to me so I can imagine them being super excited about this collection. Before I ramble on forever, let me show you my swatches of this small collection…and by small I mean small in OPI terms since some of their collections are just massive.

OPI 50 Years of Style 1OPI 50 Years of Style 2Let’s get the ugly shade out of the way first. OPI 50 Years of Style is a very frosty and brush-strokey metallic gold. Ick all around. Not only does it show every imperfection, but it also got super bumpy on me. I have seen other swatches where it looks infinitely better, so maybe it was an application issue on my part. Still, it’s not a color I like.

OPI Angel with a Leadfoot 1OPI Angel with a Leadfoot 2I have a total polish boner for white polishes as of late, so I was excited to try OPI Angel with a Leadfoot. Unfortunately, this is not a super nice white because the formula leave a lot to be desired in comparison to other spectacular whites that have come out lately. I do like how bright and creamy this looks, but be prepared to apply 3 coats to make this look good.

OPI Girls Love Ponies 1OPI Girls Love Ponies 2It’s no secret that I love hot pink so of course I like OPI Girls Love Ponies. It’s not really a unique color or anything, but it applies nicely and is a pretty staple color. I applied two coats for my swatches above.

OPI Queen of the Road 1OPI Queen of the Road 2I really don’t know if I really love OPI Queen of the Road or if I really hate it. It’s a strange color. At first I thought it was just a regular kind of coal black, but then it looks like a murky green. I still don’t know what to make of the color–it’s unique, for sure. The formula is a little thin, but it builds up well and only needs two coats which surprised me.

OPI Race Red 1OPI Race Red 2Is it just me, or are you also disappointed that OPI Race Red is super orange? I have a newly found love/hate relationship with orange so I’m not completely digging this color. Still, it’s a nice red-orange with a good formula so there isn’t too much to complain about.

OPI The Sky’s My Limit 1OPI The Sky’s My Limit 2OPI The Sky’s My Limit 4I definitely left the best for last: OPI The Sky’s My Limit. Yep, this is the belle of the ball. I absolutely love how this looks, and it immediately reminded me of the much lusted after OPI Catch Me In Your Net. However, this is much bluer but it creates the same type of effect. The formula is great, but it did stain my nails a tiny bit because I swatched it on my bare nails.

So what do you think about this collection? Overall I like it. While I don’t LOVE every single shade, I think that I love more of them than dislike them. The Sky’s My Limit is my number one pick from this collection so if you only get one polish from this collection, get this one! The OPI Ford Mustang Collection is available now and retails for $9 a bottle. Have you already picked up any of these shades? Let me know what you think of this collection and if you have a favorite. Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you enjoy your weekend.

The Lacquer Ring – Chartreuse

The Lacquer Ring – Chartreuse

Since I was such a turd and missed out on the last The Lacquer Ring prompt, I got my manicure done early for today’s post but I still waited until the last possible second to edit my pictures and actually write my post. Will I ever learn? I am such a procrastinator and then I have to rush to get things done on the fly. I hate this trait of mine, but I don’t see it changing like…ever. Anyway, Jessica chose chartreuse as our color prompt today so I had to think hard about what polish I wanted to use. Then I remembered this gorgeous color from the Nicole by OPI Tinkerbell collection which is what I have for you today.

Nicole by OPI Sweet on Pete 1Nicole by OPI Sweet on Pete 2Nicole by OPI Sweet on Pete is exactly the color I think of when I hear he word chartreuse. I wish the formula was a bit better because it was so streaky after the first coat. I ended up applying three thin coats for the final result here. It’s a very unique color in my collection.

Nicole by OPI Be Awesome 1Nicole by OPI Be Awesome 2And then I used the glitters from Nicole by OPI Be Awesome to create some funky flowers. Applying this glitter was such a pain in the ass but I really like how this looks. It looks sort of like funky flowers and kind of like ninja stars. Ninja Gaiden nails!!!

So what do you think about both the color and my glitter mani? Are you a fan of unique colors such as this or is it just too bold and out there for you? Don’t forget to check out the other chartreuse looks from my fellow ladies who make up The Lacquer Ring. Thanks so much for the visit, and I will talk to you soon!

Cuccio Colour First Impressions

You know those people who think that once they are in their cars, they are invisible? Yes, I’m sure you know who I’m talking about: those people who pick their noses so deep you fear they will be touching grey matter pretty soon. Well, I’m kind of like that except that I sing in my car like a moron with crazy faces and hand gestures and all. On more than one occasion I have been caught by people singing along to ridiculous songs and today was no different. I caught a little bit of traffic on the way home from work (the dreaded Orange Crush area for those of you who live in OC) and I just started singing along to a very embarrassing song. It was a total Michael Bolton moment. No, not that Michael Bolton, this one:

The guys in the car next to mine laughed and clapped for me. Of course I was mortified until I realized I don’t give a rat’s ass what strangers think so I did a little bowing gesture with my hand which cracked them up. I think I missed my calling and should have been a comedienne or something. Are you someone who is easily embarrassed? I always think of the Friends episode when Rachel is embarrassed by Phoebe’s running:

So yeah, I am not easily embarrassed in public and apparently I think my car has an invisibility cloak once I’m inside. Surprisingly (or not), I will not give up on my one driving enjoyment which is to sing at the top of my lungs. Oh, this was supposed to be a post about polish, eh? So, today I am sharing with you my very first experience with Cuccio Colour which is a brand I have seen at many beauty supply stores but I never really tried. I finally purchased two bottles a few weeks ago to try out so let me show you the pretty colors I picked out.

Cuccio Fountains of Versailles 1Cuccio Fountains of Versailles 2Cuccio Fountains of Versailles is so gorgeous and the formula was flawless. I kind of hate the name of it only because it reminds me of the time I went on a date with a guy to see Versailles. When we were leaving, there was a freak storm and we ran to his car…and I fell really hard in the stupid gravel. I wasn’t hurt, but my pride was.

Cuccio Soaked In Seattle 1Cuccio Soaked In Seattle 2Cuccio Soaked In Seattle is a grey lover’s dream. Unfortunately the name reminded me of 50 Shades of Grey (yes, I read it) so now I keep thinking of the lame books. I’m still going to watch the movies, though…just cause…you know. Anyway, I love the delicate shimmer in this polish and it was so creamy and buttery.

Overall, I think the quality of these polishes is really great. I am definitely going to purchase more and keep a close eye on their collection releases. Have you tried Cuccio Colours before? Do you also do ridiculous things in your car? Let me know what you think of these colors. Thanks so much for the visit today, and I hope to start posting a little more regularly this week. Talk to you soon!

Stamping Saturdays #26

Stamping Saturdays #26

Let me tell you how much I am enjoying my long weekend: I have been a total bum this morning after yesterday’s 4th of July bbq with my parents. I am actually still in my pj’s and don’t care what anyone thinks. I’ve also been watching stuff on Netflix since I woke up. Isn’t this the good life? Did you do anything fun for the holiday? I hate the fact that fireworks are legal in my city because I had to listen to kids set off fireworks all night. Since I was bumming around, I decided to work on a manicure for Stamping Saturdays because I didn’t want to miss out again. Let me show you what I came up with.

Sation Let's Mingle & Jingle 1Sation Let's Mingle & Jingle 2I absolutely love Sation Let’s Mingle & Jingle. The base of this polish is kind of a jelly but it slightly more opaque than a traditional jelly. I think the holo glitter just makes this polish look extra special and festive.

Winstonia W113 1Winstonia W113 2I’m kind of in love with honeycomb designs, so I took out my Winstonia W113 plate and stamped over the gorgeous blue base with my Konad white special polish. The image came out really crisp so I was happy with how it turned out.

So what do you have going on this weekend? I’m probably going to continue being a bum for the rest of the day and will probably scramble on Sunday to do my laundry and everything else I should be doing today. I hope you’re having a great weekend, and I will talk to you soon!

Dollish Polish 1-UP

Dollish Polish 1-UP

Gift

I know it’s just the middle of June, but is anyone else already excited about having a long weekend for the 4th of July? I find that I basically live for long weekends, and I am already planning to do absolutely nothing but lounge around in my apartment. I will not let anyone rope me into doing holiday stuff and will just be lazy for 3 days straight. I’m so looking forward to it! So today being a Monday and my least favorite day of the week, I decided to wear a polish that just makes me insanely happy when I wear it: Dollish Polish 1-UP. Why would a polish make me insanely happy? Well, dear reader, because it brings me back to the late 80’s when my parents bought us a Nintendo console. This was huge for us because we were fairly broke and we had to pick between getting a VCR or a Nintendo. Well, of course there was no contest. I played Super Mario Bros for hours and hours and hours until I managed to pass the whole game which was the crown achievement of my childhood. Anyway…now you know why this polish makes me happy!

Jessica Velvets & Pearls 1Jessica Velvets & Pearls 2To start with, I applied two coats of Jessica Velvets & Pearls as my base color. I love this greyed black polish!

Dollish Polish 1-UP 1Dollish Polish 1-UP 2Dollish Polish 1-UP 3And this is two coats of Dollish Polish 1-UP. Oh my gah, I love this polish so much. It’s so unique and of course I love it even harder because it’s Super Mario Bros themed. This was a super fantastic present from Amanda so a million thanks for the awesome polish. I was playing the new SMB on my Wii this weekend, but I’m pretty rusty and part of me misses the original in all its 8-Bit glory. I remember the first time I figured out that you could get unlimited 1-UP’s when you jumped on the duck shell as it was coming down the stairs. Remember that trick?

What a fun game! None of the crazy shooting, Grand Theft Auto, Halo bullshit of nowadays. I sound like some old lady right now, don’t I? haha You’ll still like me, right? Well, thank you so much for stopping by today and for joining me in my hatred for Mondays. Talk to you soon!

Stamping Saturdays #23

Stamping Saturdays #23

I stayed up super late last night trying to come up with a mani for today’s Stamping Saturdays so of course I woke up late. As soon as I woke up, I had to go to the store to buy a birthday gift for my little cousin because I’m going to his birthday party so excuse me if this post seems a little rushed. Today I decided to try a polish that I found at one of my nail places last week. I have no idea what this polish is because I haven’t found any information about it online.  Let me show you what it looks like before I explain…

China Glaze December To Remember 1China Glaze December To Remember 2China Glaze December To Remember 3

This polish is so interesting and I can guarantee that it’s a lot more gorgeous in person. It has this beautiful pink microglitter that makes it look like it’s glowing. The formula is a little thin but it builds up very nicely. The name of this polish is December To Remember but it’s labeled like a sample. It totally threw me off, but I had to have it regardless. China Glaze December To Remember 4China Glaze December To Remember 5I wonder if this polish is from an upcoming collection and maybe my nail place put it out by accident? If anyone knows anything about this polish, please let me know!!!

MoYou London Back To The 70's - 03For my stamping image, I used MoYou London plate Back To The 70’s.

MoYou London Back To The 70's 1MoYou London Back To The 70's 2MoYou London Back To The 70's 3Voila! This is my end result. It’s not the most creative, but I think it looks pretty neat.

Well, I hope you’re all doing well. Don’t forget to link up your stamped manis today because I’d love to see them. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon!

Sinful Colors Peppered Amazon

Aren’t you glad it’s Friday? This week has really dragged for me so I’m relieved that I now get to enjoy a couple of lazy days. I don’t know what’s up with me lately. I think it’s a combination of feeling physically crappy and mentally exhausted. Yesterday when I was going in to work, I saw my old psychiatrist. He didn’t see me because I was walking way behind him, but it brought back a bunch of old crap and I’ve been feeling pretty sad since then. To be honest, I think 90% of my issues right now have to deal with my medical issues and how shitty I’ve been feeling because of them. I need to be more vigilant about taking my meds because I’ve made a lot of improvements in my diet but still feel shitty. Anyway, enough about me feeling craptastic and let’s take a look at this GORGEOUS polish, ok?

Sinful Colors Peppered Amazon 1Sinful Colors Peppered Amazon 2Sinful Colors Peppered Amazon 3When I first saw Sinful Colors Peppered Amazon on Yadi’s blog, I knew it had to be mine. IMMEDIATELY. Since Walgreens had Sinful Colors on sale the weekend I went looking for it, they were all out so I ended up finding it at Rite-Aid. It’s insanely gorgeous, isn’t it? The formula is great so I promise you will not regret this purchase one bit.

Tonight I’m going to go watch a movie and get dinner with a friend so at least I’ll be able to relax a bit and have some fun. On Saturday I’ll be going to a birthday party for my little cousin so I’ll get to see a bunch of kids including my little peanut. I can’t wait! Well, I’m going to cut this short but I hope to have a more “substantial” post for Stamping Saturdays….you all know how I love stamping!!! Thanks for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon.

The Lacquer Ring – Pink Holo

The Lacquer Ring – Pink Holo

Hey, look! The Lacquer Ring is back! It feels like it’s been forever since we posted, and I’m still confused about the success of my Cherry Blossom nails. I ended up liking them but I wasn’t thinking they were anything special…and then they ended up on StumbleUpon and they got over 25,000 views on imgur. What the heck?! For real, yo. Anyway, today Amanda has chosen her color: Pink (holo or neon). Uhm, thanks Amanda for choosing my color of the moment! Of course I had to go holo so I ended up using Jade Déjà Vu.

Jade Déjà Vu 1Jade Déjà Vu 2Jade Déjà Vu 3Gorgeous, right? I’ve used this polish a couple of time already in recent times so you know it’s a favorite considering the amount of polish I have. Then I decided to stamp over it for shits and giggles.

MoYou London Pro Collection 18This is plate MoYou London Pro Collection 18 (press sample). I think I’ve used half of the images on this plate so far. Love them all!

MoYou London Pro Collection 18 1MoYou London Pro Collection 18 2MoYou London Pro Collection 18 3I went with this image because it doesn’t completely hide the beautiful polish. I’m not going to lie: I like this a lot. What do you think?

Forgive my sporadic posting lately. I’ve still been trying to get use to my new job so sometimes I am just mentally exhausted by the time I get home. Even though I haven’t been posting every day, I have been doing my nails and wearing my favorite polishes. I wore OPI DS Pewter for 2 days!!! Omg…one polish for 2 days. That’s unheard of for me and my swatching ways. It’s nice to take a break once in a while. I hope you liked my pink holo creation and don’t forget to check out the other posts below. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon!
