When I was a kid, my parents didn’t have much money for things that weren’t absolute necessities so I didn’t always get the newest and coolest toys. This is something that can be hard to explain to a kid, but I learned quickly not to ask for things that I knew were expensive. One particular toy that I always wanted was My Little Pony. I must have wanted it badly enough for my mom to remember it years later when she came home from a garage sale with a My Little Pony toy. Although I was already in my late teens, it meant a lot to me and to this day I still remember the look on my mom’s face when she gave it to me. This makes me wonder if I’m spoiling my nephews too much because I buy them EVERYTHING they want–will they appreciate things as much when they basically get new toys all the time? The reason I’m talking about this is because I have a polish from the My Little Pony Collection to share with you today: China Glaze Too Busy Being Awesome. I also used it in a stamped mani so let me show you what I did with it below. Continue reading “China Glaze Too Busy Being Awesome”

China Glaze In The Mood – #vintagepolishfriday
Woot, woot! Friday is here again, and I’m gearing up to have a major lazyfest this weekend since I have 4 days off. Do you have any exciting plans this weekend? Since I will have a couple of extra days, I’m going to do some dusty hunting. Now that I’m committed to doing #vintagepolishfriday on the regular, I want to have a pretty decent stash of oldies. Today I’m going to show you a China Glaze In The Mood polish that I found at one of my dusties. The In The Mood line was allegedly released in 2001, and it’s pretty hard to find reliable information online. The only information that seems somewhat legit is that which I found here. Unfortunately, my bottle did not have a name and it appears that they used to have a sticker on the back of the bottle with the name of the polish. Let me show you some swatches below. Color Club Night At The Met
Is it just me, or is Color Club kind of falling off everyone’s radar? When I first started blogging in 2011, I remember everyone was going batshit crazy for the brand and then the Halo Hues happened. I loved the Halo Hues and got a bunch of them, but it seems like after they went through their rebrand, things just kind of cooled off. I was part of their blogger network and regularly received PR packages and then nothing…crickets. I am not even sure if they are still putting out collections, but I still look through the racks when I go to my beauty supplies. A few weeks ago, I went to a new store with a couple of friends and I bought a bunch of older polishes, one of them being Color Club Night At The Met. I had not seen this polish before so I had to look it up online and discovered that it’s part of the Made in New York Collection from 2014. Let me show you some swatches below. Tonic Sophia
So how did you make out on the latest Tonic restock? Since it was a pre-order, I did not have to hunger games it when the website opened. I only purchased three polishes: Happenstance, Bauble and Ambrosia. I will go back in March to buy the other three that I wanted because I have to stick to my budget. Did you buy anything? The polish I have for you today is one that is sadly no longer available. I managed to snag it in December when they were temporarily brought back for pre-order. Tonic Sophia (2017) is a much coveted polish from the Golden Girls Collection that was a Multichrome Madness exclusive. It’s soooo pretty, and I am so glad that I was able to snag it. Let me show you my swatches below. Continue reading “Tonic Sophia”
Dare To Wear Metallux Collection
How’s it going today? I hope you’re nice and caffeinated by now just like me. I don’t understand how some people function without a nice cup of joe, but I will drink coffee until the day I die. I come from a long line of coffee addicts, so this should be no surprise. Today I have some multichrome goodies to share with you from a brand I really like. The Dare To Wear Metallux Collection is made up of 6 multichrome polishes, and I picked up two at my local beauty supply. While this collection came out last year, I didn’t really pay much attention to it until I saw the polishes in person. Let me show you some swatches of the pretties I did pick up. Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer – Small Batch Release
Hey there Monday readers! I hope that you are having an ok Monday–as ok as Mondays can be anyway. I had a decently boring weekend so I feel somewhat energized for the new week. I am definitely looking forward to the upcoming weekend since I took an extra day off after the holiday so HELLO FOUR DAY WEEKEND! I know that February is a short month so I’m not even going to mention how crazy it feels that we are almost halfway through the second month of 2018. If only California would stop having 80 degree days, that would be awesome. I did a bunch of changes to my blog this weekend and would love to hear what you think about the layout and such. It’s still a work in progress since my coding skills are non-existent and I’ve had to rely on a free template that I will slowly customize. Today I have some polishes from Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer that are part of a small batch release. Let me show you my swatches below. China Glaze QT – #vintagepolishfriday
Happy Friday! I’m so glad the weekend is almost upon us so I can veg a little, and maybe work on organizing my melmers. I don’t know what to do about my nail polish storage situation, so I guess that’s the reason why I have been shopping my stash lately. Although I see plenty of pretty new polishes being released on a weekly basis, I cringe at the idea of trying to find the space to store the steady stream of polishes that I get. One thing that I haven’t been able to stop doing is checking out destashes and evilbay for old discontinued polishes. Because of this, I wanted to resume doing something: Vintage Polish Friday. Essie Dressed To The Nineties
Hey, how’s it going today? I’ve been having a pretty uneventful time lately which can either be good or bad depending on the person. Since my idea of fun is having a quiet time to lounge, read and read a good book, I’m quite happy right now. Today I have an Essie polish that I had high hopes for when I first saw it at my local beauty supply: Essie Dressed To The Nineties. Let me show you some swatches before I tell you what I thought of it. Continue reading “Essie Dressed To The Nineties”
Tonic I Pink You Blue Me Off
How’s your Wednesday going? It’s always nice when you realize you’re pretty much halfway through your work week but the weekend still seems like it’s sooo far away in the distance. Since the Tonic February restock is about to happen, I am trying to finish up all my Tonic untrieds posts. I think I may have 1 or 2 more polishes to show you, but I seriously can’t find them in my melmers. Have you seen the stuff that will be releasing? Holy mother of God, I want everything. I am going to have to implement some serious rules in order to stick to any kind of budget. You’ll know soon enough how it went because I’ll probably have a billion more Tonic posts coming up. Let me show you my swatches of Tonic I Pink You Blue Me Off below. Continue reading “Tonic I Pink You Blue Me Off”
China Glaze 2NITE
Today I’m reeeaaaaallly looking back into my archives for material. I have slowly been collecting the polishes from the China Glaze OMG Collection through Ebay, random blog sales and destashes. Because holographic polish is not a novelty anymore the way it was when the OMG Collection came out, I am not in a huge rush to get them all but it would be nice to get a full set. I always remember the first–and only time–that I found a polish from this collection in a store setting. Click here if you want a laugh. I’m sure that you’re all super over seeing swatches of these polishes since the collection is from 2008 after all, but it’s a new experience to me so here I am sharing it with you. Let me show you some swatches of China Glaze 2NITE below. Continue reading “China Glaze 2NITE”
