China Glaze In The Mood – #vintagepolishfriday

Woot, woot! Friday is here again, and I’m gearing up to have a major lazyfest this weekend since I have 4 days off. Do you have any exciting plans this weekend? Since I will have a couple of extra days, I’m going to do some dusty hunting. Now that I’m committed to doing #vintagepolishfriday on the regular, I want to have a pretty decent stash of oldies. Today I’m going to show you a China Glaze In The Mood polish that I found at one of my dusties. The In The Mood line was allegedly released in 2001, and it’s pretty hard to find reliable information online. The only information that seems somewhat legit is that which I found here. Unfortunately, my bottle did not have a name and it appears that they used to have a sticker on the back of the bottle with the name of the polish. Let me show you some swatches below.

Let me tell you that when I first opened up this bottle, the smell almost knocked me out Sex Panther style.

Maybe I’m weird, but I enjoy sniffing nail polish–especially the old bottles where I know the formula is full of toxicity. I know I sound deranged, but I only take a quick sniff and don’t sit there getting high off the fumes, ok? I especially love this polish because the bottle has the old style China Glaze logo. The polish was a little thick so I added a few drops of Seche Restore to make it easier to apply and that did the trick. I think it’s quite pretty in an unconventional way. I wish that this polish still transitioned because it would be nice to know what color it changed to. Don’t forget that if you love vintage polishes, you can join me on twitter/instagram by posting your vintage polish manis with the hashtag #vintagepolishfriday so that I can see your posts. So what do you think about this polish? What’s the oldest polish in your stash? Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon.

  1. Don’t think I own a vintage polish! As for this weekend, it’s my birthday on Sunday and I’m ill with the flu again!

  2. Ha, ha! What a great post, Cynthia. I love the Sex Panther video and I am also one who doesn’t mind the old-school nail polish fumes. ;D

    1. Any time I get my hands on an older polish, I know it’s going to be stinky. It’s just a matter of HOW stinky it will be. I’d love to see some of your older polishes!

      1. It’s free if you only want to store 50 polishes in your “collection.” I use it for vintage polishes. I have quite a few that just have a serial number and no name. Unlucky me… I haven’t found one name yet. But I have entered a couple in (yay~)
