China Glaze Too Busy Being Awesome

When I was a kid, my parents didn’t have much money for things that weren’t absolute necessities so I didn’t always get the newest and coolest toys. This is something that can be hard to explain to a kid, but I learned quickly not to ask for things that I knew were expensive. One particular toy that I always wanted was My Little Pony. I must have wanted it badly enough for my mom to remember it years later when she came home from a garage sale with a My Little Pony toy. Although I was already in my late teens, it meant a lot to me and to this day I still remember the look on my mom’s face when she gave it to me. This makes me wonder if I’m spoiling my nephews too much because I buy them EVERYTHING they want–will they appreciate things as much when they basically get new toys all the time? The reason I’m talking about this is because I have a polish from the My Little Pony Collection to share with you today: China Glaze Too Busy Being Awesome. I also used it in a stamped mani so let me show you what I did with it below.

I don’t know how you feel about creme polishes, but this is the kind of polish that dreams are made of. It is so incredibly creamy and pigmented that I only need one (!!!) coat for full opacity. The polish is very shiny on its own, but I still applied a coat of Poshé so that I could stamp over it. I used an image from a Born Pretty Plate and covered up some of the shapes in the image with Let Your Twilight Sparkle. I think it turned out pretty cute for an accent nail if I do say so myself. What do you think of this shade? Are there any other shades from the MLP collection that I should get? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon.

    1. Glad you like it. I think that when you grow up poor, you want to give your kids EVERYTHING. I did that with my youngest brother. I am 10 years older than him so I spoiled him rotten. It was the worst thing ever.

  1. This is a gorgeous polish! My sister adopted 2 kids years ago that had spent the first few years of their life in terrible neglect from two addict parents. When they first came to live with her they had NOTHING. A new fresh pair of socks was the greatest thing ever. Fast forward years of everyone buying them everything and now very little excites them and they ask for things like an iPhone X. I love them dearly, but yeah they have become very spoiled.
Sorry for the paragraph, it just made me think if it.

    1. That’s a shame. I try to not to spoil my nephews, but it’s so hard. The thing that I like is that the older one (he’s 4) is very appreciative and always thanks me for everything. I hope that I can strike a happy medium with them.

  2. Hi Cynthia, that is a beautiful polish/stamping combo and your nails are in perfect condition to show it off!! It would definitely be a great summer look, but of course nowadays we can wear pretty much any color any time. The added symbolism to you of the name makes the mani extra special, too. =)
