Tonic Happenstance

Hello there and happy Tuesday. I hope you’re doing well today and that you’re ready to get back to work after the long weekend (if you had it off and are in the US). I’m still basking in the glory of a 4 day weekend so forgive me if I rub it in. This weekend I did some minor swatching just to get some posts ready. I am expecting a few packages in the coming week so I am definitely going to be a busy swatching bee. My most recent Tonic order came in on Thursday, only days after placing the order, so of course I had to pull out my new pretties to play with. Today I have Tonic Happenstance to show you.

Tonic Happenstance is the sister polish of Tonic Serendipity which means that it has the same color base and unicorn pee pigment, but has some flakes added. I found the addition of the flakes makes this polish look so much different and much more complex. I immediately thought of those old Nfu-Oh polishes that I used to pine over back in the day. Because this polish has a very jelly-like consistency, it is very sheer so multiple coats will be needed if you want to wear it on its own. I applied 3 coats for my swatches above, but I haven’t tried any layering combinations yet. This polish is still available for pre-order through the end of the month or until pigments run out. I purchased my bottle directly from the Tonic website for $15.00. Yes, I know it’s a little bit pricey, but I feel like it’s sooooo worth it. This is definitely one of those polishes that I will use whenever I want to feel a little extra. What do you think about this polish? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon!

    1. I didn’t really give up anything for lent, but I have been on a pretty serious low-buy since the beginning of the year. It has allowed me to put away money for savings/emergencies so that has been nice. I really want to make this my new reality moving forward. I don’t want to go back to crazy spending on make up/polish.
