The Devil Wears Polish New Linear Holos

Does polish make you happy? Today I went on a complete polish binge and bought 18 new bottles of polish even though I have received 15 bottles for review in the last 2 days. No, I’m not trying to brag–I am just trying to explain the level of my depravity. It usually backfires because once the high of buying so much stuff goes away, I end up feeling really bad about myself for trying to fix all the shitty stuff in my life with stuff I don’t really need–namely polish. I guess it’s a good thing that it’s polish and not crack although they seem to have the same effect. You want to know what I do love? I love how polish brings so many of us together. I’ve met so many awesome ladies through this blog and hobby so I wouldn’t give that up for anything. I am also so happy when I see a brand start up from day one like I have seen with The Devil Wears Polish. Tami is such a character, and I always enjoy her rants and raves because she is just very genuine. She is always working on new things, and today I have some holo awesomeness to show you.

The Devil Wears Polish Paint It Black is probably the darkest and most saturated black holo in my stash. I can tell you that the holo is much more pronounced in sunlight so I’m sad that my lighting doesn’t show it at its best. The formula was a tad thick, but that did not present any application issues. It was so saturated that it’s almost a one-coater which is awesome!

I was seriously drooling when I first saw The Devil Wears Polish A Nice Chianti because this color is just so rich and amazing. It made me think of the first time I went to Italy and all the wine my best friend and I had at dinner. This color is just sumptuous and look at the beautiful holo! Again, the formula on this one is fabulous and very opaque. It dries a little dull so I do recommend a shiny top coat which fortunately does not affect the holo effect.

Tami also sent me a sample of one of the chrome polishes that she has been working on. I always have a really hard time photographing anything that is duo or multi-chrome. This particular polish flashes pink, orange and gold depending on the angle. The formula felt very sheer on this one and it was a little difficult to build up so I had to apply 3 thickish coats.

The Devil Wears Polish Part 2

I’m super duper excited that tomorrow is Thursday because that means that my weekend is ALMOST here. Wooot! I don’t know what kind of trouble I’ll be getting into this weekend since Sunday is my birthday so I guess I’ll be doing birthday stuff . And by birthday stuff I mean crying in a corner because I am entering my mid-30’s, getting totally drunk and/or buying a billion polishes because there’s no better excuse than my birthday to go completely nuts. I’m only kidding! Of course I can’t buy A BILLION polishes, but watch me try!

I am so glad that I did a bunch of swatching last weekend because who knows when I will have time to do more. I’m super glad that I finally got a chance to swatch the last two polishes that Tami sent to me. Have you guys gotten a chance to check out all her creations? Well if you haven’t you better do it soon because she did a lot of reformulations (drooling over the new holos!!!) and will have new collections coming out. Let’s take a look at Get Your Pop Rocks Off and Nice Melons.

The Devil Wears Polish Get Your Pop Rocks Off is a fun yellow based polish with various sized circle glitter. It can be very difficult to get the bigger glitter on your nails but I kind of like the sparse large glitter. The formula feels a little sheer so you will need 3-4 coats for full coverage. Is it just me or does this remind you of marshmallow peeps?

The Devil Wears Polish Nice Melons reminds me of kiwis! Well, except for the pink squares.hehe This polish is my favorite of the two but it has a very interesting finish. Without topcoat, it feels very meal-y. Almost like gritty and bumpy but it does get smooth with a nice top coat. I needed 3 coats of this polish for complete coverage.

The Devil Wears Polish

Guess what? I actually feel pretty great today after my workout on Monday. I’m not sore, and I’m really looking forward to my workout after work! Work has been kinda funny today because some lady called basically acting like her life was in jeopardy because of the dumbass issue that she was having with our products. I wanted to laugh in her face, but I didn’t. However, this did make me question how people like her deal with REAL problems. Her issue was an inconvenience and not a true problem but she started crying saying we were ruining her life. Seriously? That’s some serious crack talk right there. I have the patience of a saint which is why I can deal with these morons. Anyway, let’s move on to the stars of the show! Today I am really happy to show you some polishes from a new indie brand: The Devil Wears Polish. The mastermind behind The Devil Wears Polish is my friend, Tami, and I am really excited for her because as a nail blogger, I always think of what I would do if I was coming up with a collection. Let’s take a look at three of her creations:

The Devil Wears Polish G Spot is a nice purple magenta polish with a scattered holographic finish. The formula was nice but a little thin so I applied two thick coats.

I was the most excited about The Devil Wears Polish Absinthe Makes My Clothes Fall Off because I just don’t have a similar polish. The holo in this polish is very faint once I got it on my nails, and it is more of a scattered holo rather than a linear holo. Unfortunately, the formula on this one was very thin and streaky. I had to apply 4 coats to get even coverage

Sorry, I couldn’t help sharing this video as Eurotrip is one of my favorite stupid movies ever. This clip left out the funniest part when the twins are making out and they can’t stop screaming once they realize it. Nevermind, here it is:

Lastly, this is The Devil Wears Polish I’d Do Me. Now, this one I can totally boogie to. Something creepy: I kept remember that scene in Silence Of The Lambs…yeah, that one. Anyway, I kept singing “Goodbye Horses” while I used this polish. lol I know, I’m a weirdo. I’d Do Me is a true linear holo and it has a really nice formula–opaque at two coats, shiny and smooth.

These are really nice colors for the inaugural collection of Tami’s polish line. They are staple-type colors and she’s constantly working on her formulations. In fact, one of the things that she mentioned to me is that she has gotten a lot of feedback and has been working on improving the formula of her polishes which is awesome to hear. I love it when indie makers are open to hearing from their customers and actually doing something about it. I have a couple more polishes to show you from her line and they are glitters! Yay!
