I am super excited about the polish that I have for you today. I know that I say that a lot, but you will understand once you see it in all its glowy glory. Last week I showed you OPI Movin’ Out from the 2003 Holiday On Broadway Collection and today I have another beauty from the same collection. A couple of weeks ago, I saw Jessica from Be Happy and Buy Polish use OPI Man Of La Mancha in her mani, and I knew that it had to be mine. Are you ready to see what I did with it? NARS Blushes Depotting
I have a confession to make: nail polish was not my first addiction. Long before I became obsessed with nail polish, I was obsessed with make-up: blushes, lipsticks, eye shadow palettes…everything! I quickly discovered that NARS had my absolute favorite blush formula so I started stocking up. As much as I love the product inside, I abhor the packaging. At first I quite liked it because it’s black and sleek and has a nice rubberized finish. After time, the rubberized coating starts to break down and it becomes sticky and gross. I HATE IT. With NARS blushes setting you back $30 a pop now, I find it really unacceptable. I was quite excited when I saw that NARS was offering an empty palette so I jumped on it and paid $18 for the large palette. I’m sure that you can find about a bagillion tutorials online to depot shadows, but I am a dunce and knew I would have problems. Let me show you how it went. Continue reading “NARS Blushes Depotting”
Tonic Bauble
How’s your Tuesday going? I’m chugging along hoping for the weekend to get here as quickly as possible because I’m taking an extra day off. We are having Jonas’ second birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese this weekend so I need to rest up for that…hahaha! A few weeks ago, I posted my bottle of Bauble Oops and today I have the replacement I received. Tonic Bauble is just as beautiful as I thought it would be! The addition of the flakes takes this polish to another level. Let me show you some swatches. Continue reading “Tonic Bauble”
Pueen Transparent Soft Stamper
Do you remember the first time you heard about nail stamping? For me, it was around 2010/2011, and I was just starting out with my true nail polish obsession. I had always loved getting my nails done and enjoyed the process of being pampered. In fact, I started getting acrylics because I wanted to kick the nail/cuticle biting habit, and it actually worked! Once I was past that, I started getting weekly manicures and then started buying polish. Who could have imagined that I would end up with thousands of bottles? I do believe that I discovered stamping on youtube and quickly bought a bunch of stuff from Amazon–all Konad. I actually still use the same Konad stamper that I’ve had for like 7 years! I know that stamping has grown in popularity, and we now have many options; one of those options being clear stampers. I have hesitated trying them because I am a creature of habit, but I recently bit the bullet and purchased the Pueen Transparent Soft Stamper. Is it a winner or a dud? Let’s read below to find out! OPI Movin’ Out – #vintagepolishfriday
Woooooo do I have a pretty polish for you today! I’ve had this bottle in my melmers for a while now and just hadn’t been inspired to use it. Sometimes when you purchase something that has been on your wish list, you don’t even want to use it for fear of running out which is a real concern with older polishes that are no longer available. I actually purchased OPI Movin’ Out for a fairly reasonable price on Ebay. I don’t remember the exact price but I know it was under $15. Out of the 8 polishes in the 2003 OPI Holiday on Broadway Collection, I think this is one of my absolute favorites. I would love to get the rest of the polishes, but realistically I will probably only end up with Man of La Mancha and La Boheme since I don’t want to pay a small fortune for the others–especially the silver and gold holos. Anyway, let me show you this pretty. I layered it over two different polishes to show you how different it can look depending on your base color. Onto the swatches!
KBShimmer Launch Party Collection
When I think of KBShimmer, there are a few things that come to mind: awesome polish, amazing and fast shipping and great customer service. I also see the brand as one of the OG brands in the indie nail polish community and feel fortunate to be part of the bloggers who get to share new collections with you. Imagine my excitement when I saw the details for the KBShimmer Launch Party Collection. For KBShimmer’s 10th anniversary, they really went all out and revamped their look. I can’t wait for you to see everything! Continue reading “KBShimmer Launch Party Collection”
Moo Moo’s Signatures Color4Nails Exclusives
Hello! How is your Wednesday going so far? I am doing pretty well, and I’m excited for my my nephew’s upcoming birthday party. Little Jonas turns 2 next week and we are going to his birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese’s. I can’t believe he’s been around for 2 years causing all sorts of commotion. I love to see how different he is from his older brother–they are so similar yet so different. Anyway, I’m sure I’ll have plenty of stories from his birthday party because beer and pizza always creates an interesting environment. Lately it feels like I’ve been a swatching machine so I’m trying to come up with some plan for more balance. I don’t want to spend my whole weekends swatching and writing up posts, but there are so many pretties to play with and show you! I might be switching up my posting schedule in the next few weeks to avoid burning out. In the meantime, I have plenty of things scheduled to show you, one of them being the Moo Moo’s Signatures Color4Nails Exclusives. Continue reading “Moo Moo’s Signatures Color4Nails Exclusives”
Bee’s Knees Lacquer Assassin’s Creed Origins Trio
Are you into video games? I’ll be honest…I’m stuck in the past when it comes to video games. I am a child of the 80’s so I grew up playing NES and eventually SNES. Don’t mention Sega to me, because I will get mad. I spent countless hours playing Mario Bros (read this post about the day I beat the game), Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Super Metroid and my favorite game of all time: Chrono Trigger. Has anyone made a Chrono Trigger nail polish collection?? Anyway, enough about me being old. Today I have some pretties to share with you that are also inspired by a video game. The Bee’s Knees Lacquer Assassin’s Creed Origins Trio is a small and cohesive collection with beautiful colors and finishes. Let me show you some swatches below. Bee’s Knees Lacquer COTM Duo – March 2018
I know that February was a short month, but why does it feel like the first two months of the year just flew by? I can’t believe that it’s March already! I sound so much like my parents right now; is this what it feels like to get old? Pretty soon I’ll start to use phrases like “back in the day” and “kids today” on a regular basis. Since I had a bunch of polishes to swatch this weekend, I took the opportunity to give away some polishes. I was watching Hoarders on Hulu as I decluttered a bit to help me get more motivated. lol My family calls me the anti-hoarder because I get so worked up getting rid of stuff that I throw out or give away tons of stuff that I should keep. I just get so paranoid about having clutter, that I want to get rid of everything. This is especially hard when it comes to my nail polish. This weekend I swatched about 20 polishes, and today I want to share with you the Bee’s Knees Lacquer COTM Duo for March 2018. What is COTM, you ask? Why…Color of the Month, of course! Let me show you some swatches below. Continue reading “Bee’s Knees Lacquer COTM Duo – March 2018”
