Of Life and Lacquer

Who would believe that it’s almost Summer time around here? Usually by May, I start complaining about the freaking heat but it’s been super mild around here. It’s windy and kind of overcast but I am enjoying it. I bet that it will be scorching at the end of the month when I will be busy packing up and moving because that is just my luck. I had previously mentioned that I did a lot of swatching this past weekend and that included the Zoya Barefoot Collection! Let me show you some swatches below.

Every time I swatch a Zoya 12 piece collection, I remark to myself what a huge collection it is and then I remind myself of those massive OPI collections with 15+ polishes and I simmer down a bit. This collection has a bunch of different finishes: cremes, shimmers, and glitters. Personally I will forever love a good creme and there are many of those in this collection. I usually expect much brighter and juicier colors from Zoya’s Summer collections and a lot of these are definitely more  Spring inspired. To be honest, I don’t necessarily stick to seasonal colors and wear whatever I want year round so this doesn’t bother me one bit. I really like this collection because of the great formula that they all had. Every single polish here was a two coater which I appreciated a lot! Marcy has a slight VNL, but I couldn’t see it too much in regular lighting but I did notice it in my pictures. Overall, this is another good collection from Zoya. If you don’t have similar colors, there are some great core shades here. My personal favorites are Walker, Dallas, Robbie and Eleni.
