Hola, hola! I had kind of a busy weekend and didn’t have as much time to play around with polish. I’m trying really hard to get through my untrieds before I go nuts buying more. It really is difficult to restrict myself, but I’m making a huge effort. Did I already mention that I’ve put myself on a budget? It’s almost the end of the first month, and I think I could definitely do better. It’s interesting to see where the bulk of my spending is and now I can try to curb those habits. Today I have a beautiful polish to share with you. This beauty was a group exclusive for the Multichrome Madness group on Facebook so go ahead and join if you’re interested in multichrome polishes. Tonic Innocence is a beautiful polish to have in your collection, so let me show you some swatches. Continue reading “Tonic Innocence”

Tonic Berried Un-Teal Spring
I have been enjoying posting swatches so much this last week, and I am glad to say that I pretty much exhausted a large part of my archives. I still have swatches of polishes on another computer, but I fear they might have been corrupted. I guess I’ll have to try and restore them if I can. Today I have the last of the SHIMMAHS group custom polishes in my stash to share with you: Tonic Berried Un-teal Spring. To be honest, I don’t think I have anything in my stash quite like this so I was very happy when I received it. Look at the pretty swatches! Continue reading “Tonic Berried Un-Teal Spring”
Tonic Serendipity
Aren’t you glad it’s Friday? Although this was a short work week for me, I felt like it dragged a bit. This weekend I was planning to do a bunch of swatching, but then I remembered that my nephew is getting baptized so we have Sunday blocked out for that. I can’t wait to see him all dressed up! I’ll put up some pictures on my instagram in case you want to check them out. Definitely get ready for cuteness overload. So as you may have noticed, I’m definitely a Tonic fan and I wanted to let you know that there will be a restock on Sunday 1/21 at 2:00 PM Central Time. For the love of God mark your calendars and set your alarms because no one wants to read about how you missed the restock because you were cleaning your bathroom, feeding your pet iguana or because you didn’t know what time the restock started in your time zone. And even more exciting, some of the UP polishes will be restocking for the last time. Yes, you read that correctly–THE LAST RESTOCK. Tonic Serendipity will be one of those polishes being restocked so I figured I might as well show you my swatches of this beauty. Continue reading “Tonic Serendipity”
Tonic Tracks In The Snow
Well, look at me posting 2 days in a row! To be honest, I have a lot (A LOT) of swatches done that I just never got around to posting because I was too damn lazy to write up a post. Since I want to start doing more stamping and fun nail art besides just straight swatching, I want to clear out my archives and start fresh. Today I have a gorgeous polish that I bought a few months ago: Tonic Tracks In The Snow which was a group custom for the Shimmahs group on Facebook. If you haven’t joined, click here to join and get access to gorgeous custom polishes from some of the best indie brands out there! Tonic Tracks In The Snow is a gorgeous polish so let me show you some swatches. Continue reading “Tonic Tracks In The Snow”
Tonic Peacock Parade – Swatches & Review
Hey guys! Is it nice and toasty in your neck of the woods? It’s October and it’s basically 100 degrees so I’m hating life. I just hope that for the sake of wildfires all over the state, that the weather cools down a lot. This weekend I pretty much stayed home to avoid the heat which is kind of hard considering I don’t have AC, but I did end up swatching a bunch of polishes that I purchased recently. One of those polishes is Tonic Peacock Parade. Oh, beautiful shifty polish how I love thee! Let me show you some swatches before I let you know the verdict.
Tonic Peacock Parade (3 coats of polish + 1 coat of Poshé)
Sweet baby Jesus on rollerskates! This polish is so shifty and gorgeous that I want to wear it every day in some capacity. This polish requires a few coats for full opacity–I applied 3 thin coats. I don’t mind having to apply 3 coats of polish, but considering that this is the only bottle I have, I get serious fear of running out. Will I run out? Probably not. There are very few bottles of polish that I have ever used up (OPI Vodka & Caviar, I’m looking at you!), so I should stop being a weirdo. I do wonder if I can apply one coat of black and one coat of Peacock Parade…I’ll have to give it a try. The formula on this polish was a little thin–hence needing 3 coats. I also felt that it was a little runny and I feared that I would flood my cuticles but I just made sure not to keep too much polish on my brush. It does show brushstrokes a little bit, but not enough to make me get annoyed. Removal was a breeze–no issues with staining whatsoever. I really, really love how beautiful this polish is! And here is a video of this polish in action:
I’m sorry if you love this polish because it was a one time pre-order. I know…I know.
If you do want this polish badly enough, I know that there have already been a few in FB groups/destashes. If you want to be in the know, don’t forget to join the Tonic Facebook Group so that you know when restocks are announced and you don’t miss out on any more pretties. So what do you think about Tonic Peacock Parade? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon!
Tonic Curio
The weather here in SoCal is incredibly gloomy and humid today–a putrid combination. The last week has been super hot so I am hoping that we get a little break this week. It’s kind of hard to do your nails when it’s hot and humid because polish acts funky, but I did manage to do a few swatches this weekend. On Sunday, I spent my whole day glued to the couch watching season 3 of Narcos on Netflix. Have you seen it yet? I really hope there is a season 4!!!!! I definitely think that the show was much more interesting when they were focusing on Pablo Escobar, but the new angle and the story of the Cali Cartel is engrossing as well. Anyway, today I want to show you my very first Tonic purchase. Yes, you read that correctly: my first Tonic purchase. The polish I have for you today is Tonic Curio from the coveted Unicorn Pee Collection. Let me show you some swatches first.
Tonic Curio is a blue toned purple with the gorgeous unicorn pee pigment that flashes from red to green depending on the lighting and angle. This polish is very sheer since it is a jelly so expect to apply up to 4 coats if you plan to wear it alone. You could also apply a purple base color and apply 1-2 coats of Curio on top of it if you don’t want to wear it on its own. Personally, I loved wearing this on its own even if I did have to apply multiple coats. Currently, the Unicorn Pee Collection is sold out on the Tonic Website and I have no idea if the polishes will be restocked. Womp womp.
Did you manage to get any of the Tonic Unicorn Pee polishes before they sold out? I really wanted to get Serendipity but it was sold out by the time I remembered the restock. You’ve really got to be quick as a ninja to get some of these LE polishes. Let me know what you think about this polish. Are you a Unicorn Pee fan or are you sick of all the frenzy around it? Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon!
