I am on weather cloud 9 today. It has been an absolutely gorgeous day so I really have nothing to complain about. I had a pretty nice day so I’m trying to keep the good vibes going at least until the end of the week so I can really have a fun weekend. I’m not feeling super talky today so I’m just going to jump right into the polish talk. You may remember that about a month or so ago, I went on a polish shopping binge with Lesley. One of the places we went to was this massive warehouse that had so much polish I thought I was going to have a heart attack brought on by pure polish awesomeness. I am always drawn to old polishes so I had 5 shits when I saw a bunch of Orly Satin Hues. I already have a few that I love but had resigned myself to not having other colors. Well color me obsessed because I was able to add two more colors to my collection. Let’s take a look at Orly Satin Hues Uniquely Satin.
Yes, this needed 3 pictures. I had about 10 pictures, but I figured that would be overkill. I was actually surprised by how much I liked this polish since I am such a fan of glossy and shiny cremes, but seriously: look at it and drool along with me. I felt it would be sacrilegious to topcoat this baby because the beautiful satin finish is what these polishes are all about. Orly Satin Hues Uniquely Satin is a very VERY sheer polish so I needed 4 coats for complete coverage, and I can honestly say that I would gladly do 4 coats again for a polish this lovely. The good part is that these bottles are so ginormous at .75 fl oz that you don’t have to worry about running out.
Let me know what you think about this polish: do you think it’s swoon-worthy? I seriously can’t wait to wear it again! Thanks so much for the visit, and I will talk to you later.
P.S. I put up a bunch of stuff on my blog sale so take a peek here.

It does look luxurious, doesn’t it? I hope you find it because it really is beautiful and unique.
I actually freakin’ love this! This is absolutely perfect, and it goes so well with your skin, and it sounds like your day! 😀

Hehehe. It’s one of those happy polishes, I think. It’s soft and bright and happy. 🙂
It kind of reminds me of a ’70s soft-focus lens effect, for nail polish, if that makes any sense? (In a good way, though.) Pretty!

Yes, totally makes sense and thank you! 🙂
Love this color! I may need to search for it now. I’m also jealous of how perfect your nails always look. I’ve been looking at these pics, then down at my own nails and I fall WAY short. I need to practice on cleaning up–compared to you I look like an angry group of 8 year old girls did my nails.
Awww…thank you! It has taken me a very long time to get good at polishing my nails–I do get a lot of practice with this blog. While I don’t photoshop my nails/skin, I do have good lighting so that makes a big difference in what my pictures look like.
wowza! I’m glad Orly is back in the game with this type of finish. Long ago they released AuChampagne, which is fantastic- not matte, not shiny but just satiny glowy perfection. They were ahead of their time on that trend. Now Deborah Lippmann is onto it. Others will follow. I can see myself loving these. Just when I thought I was done with Orly. Definitely need this beauty!
Sorry to burst your bubble, but these are very old polishes that were long discontinued. 🙁 I wish they still had them around and that they could be found easily. I think you can still find them on ebay, but that’s pretty much it unless you have some dusties in your area.
I did find it on eBay, but I’m waiting for the seller to answer a question about the bottle size. I’m not sure if this was ever offered in a mini, and it was probably a typo. The picture shows a full size bottle (.75) but her description says it is .6. I know it isn’t a big difference but I’ve learned to be cautious on eBay.
I think it’s a mistake because all the Satin Hues I own and have seen are .75 oz. The think is that the new Orly bottles are all .6 oz so maybe they didn’t pay attention.
Wow, awesome! I really liked the matte finish and also that the bottle are so huge, I’d love to have this! 😀

LOL! The weather is good, so you have nothing to complain about. I can relate to this! 😉
If anyone is reading this comment, let it be known that Cynthia is NOT exaggerating about the majesty of the polish warehouse. It is the true holy grail of polish retailers for crazies like us.
This polish is fantastic. I love that it was an old collection find for you and it is purple, one of your faves!
oh, that is unexpected…I really like that colour with the satin finish! It looks cool and clean!!
