I should say that I only bought two of the polishes and I have two too many at this point. I knew that these polishes are not meant to be opaque so I steered clear of all the pinks and picked up My Pointe Exactly. It kind of looked like a sheer version of French Quarter For Your Thoughts so I figured it would be ok. Well, it isn’t. This color is disgusting. It basically looks like clear polish on your nails after one coat. I added a second and it looked streaky. I added a third and it started to look a little gray. Fourth coat, fifth coat and it still looked streaky and was not opaque. I took off the gross layers and went for a three coat look and this was the result:
Yuck! What’s the point of wearing nail polish if it’s going to look like this?!?!?!?! I took the glitter of this collection, Pirouette My Whistle, and layered one coat of it.
I still think this is gross. One of my lovely readers from Two Lacquered Girls asked me if Pirouette My Whistle was the same as Servin’ Up Sparkle so I used them side by side. I used Servin’ Up Sparkle on the middle finger and Pirouette My Whistle on the two outer fingers. As you can see, it’s the same exact glitter shape except that Servin’ Up Sparkle is holographic and Pirouette My Whistle is just white and silver. The base colors also differ. Servin’ Up Sparkle has a clear base and Pirouette My Whistle is in a milky gray base. Here are some bottle shots:
There is no way that I am going to buy anymore colors from this collection. I should have stuck with my initial impression when I saw the press release and passed on this collection altogether. What about you? Do you want any colors from this collection?
P.S. After my previous post about gross nails and stuff, I want to apologize about my super dry skin. I totally forgot to moisturize so I know my skin looks dry like the Sahara. 🙁

Ooo! Now I want Servin Up Sparkles. I still kind of like Pirouette My Whistle..atleast the idea of it. It might look better over an opaque color. Im not crazy about the other NYC Ballet colors. I get why they are so light and sheer cause its NYC Ballet after all, but I dont like sheer polishes and from the swatches i've seen they all look almost identical. If I see Pirouette My Whistle in person I might pick if up, but I'll pass on the sheers. However! Servin Up Sparkles is going in my shopping basket soon 😀
It definitely is pretty. I think it's the best polish out of the Serena Williams collection. Glad I was there to enable a fellow nail polish hoarder. hehehe

Gaaahhhh I HATE sheer polish -.- I'm glad you posted this, because if I would have seen them this weekend when I go shopping, I definitely would have grabbed them! (Although, I don't know WHY, since I have about 20 gray polishes already. Lol) I need to quit looking and save up for Zoya's summer collections! I want Every. Single. One.
I haven't looked at them that closely yet. It's hard to tell from the Promo pics and stuff. I don't think I have seen any swatches yet. Did you buy any Zoyas during their last promo? I need to save up for the OPI Spiderman Collection, CG Duochromes and maybe the OPI Minnie Mouse Collection. Ahhh…so cute.
I buy from zoya during every promo lol and in between! OPI has been pretty boring lately. I haven't bought any of their spring collection because it was way too similar to zoya's. Spiderman doesn't look too exciting to me, either. The possible Peridot dupe looks nice, but I don't need it.
Think I'll definitely pass on these… In my entire polish collection, I have 1 sheer, and that is plenty lol.
I totally agree! They are definitely a snooze-fest. I can't imagine who would really be interested in these.

Yeah, if I wanted sheer polish, I'd just not paint my nails. No matter how nice your nails are, sheer polish to me just looks like you don't know how to apply polish and you didn't use enough coats. I wasn't excited by this collection when I heard about it and now I think it's extra lame. Boo OPI boooooooo!
haha no kidding. And the polish made my nails look so yellow in the picture. 🙁 They really aren't stained so it was a double yuck on the polish. This is how I know I have issues. I knew the colors would be lame, I wrote how yawn-worthy the collection is before it came out….yet I still went and bought 2 of them. When I saw the display, all I could think was "NEW COLLECTION! NEW COLLECTION! GIMME! GIMME!"
I can totally relate!! If I hadn't been at home doing nothing for the last week I probably would own some. Guess my faulty gb saved me from buying at least 25 dollars worth of sad sad polishes. I ALWAYS get sucked in when I see a new collection. That display with all its little bottles lined up just so always calls my name!

They are so gross, really. I've seen some swatches where it looks like people are making them work but I just can't see how they're doing it unless they're layering 5 or more coats. I do like nudes sometimes, but these just did not work for me.
It took me a while to learn how to stamp properly. Are you using Konad stuff? I haven't tried any other brand yet so I'm curious…I just don't want to spend money on other things that maybe aren't as good.

My plates are Bundle Monster and my stamper is from the drugstore. I think the stamper is too squishy (if that makes sense) and I need to figure out how to scrape the plate best. I've tried using the metal scraper and a plastic giftcard. I've really only tried it a few times and nothing has turned out well enough to warrant photos. 🙁 I need more practice but always worry about ruining a good manicure!
I hear bundle monster plates are pretty good. Maybe it's just your stamper. I feel the same way every time I try a new stamp…I am so afraid of ruining my manicure in case I stamp all crazy or it just doesn't work out.
