Kiko #336 Blu Elettrico

Last week I was checking out my favorite blogs and Jess from Once Upon A Polish had posted her review of Nails Inc. Baker Street. Being the Nails Inc. fan that I am, I was drooling over her swatches. I had seen this polish so many times and I kept putting off purchasing it. Why? I don’t know!!! I guess I’m crazy. I actually wanted to purchase Illamasqua Force but I have read on multiple blogs how it changes color and becomes a weird dusty murky medium blue!!! What?! I love Illamasqua, but I don’t want a polish that changes color as it ages. Look at what happened to it here on Scrangie’s blue comparison. So when I received this Kiko beauty, I knew I could pass on Baker Street (for now…ha!)

Kiko is a brand that is 100% new to me, and I was fortunate enough to receive this polish from my polish dealer, Sabrina, from Polish in Paris. Let me tell you first that I am in freaking love with this brand. I like the formula, I like the brush…I like everything!

How beautiful is this blue? Seriously?

I used Bundle Monster plate 322 for this houndstooth design and I much prefer this larger design than the one on my Konad plate. I don’t know what’s wrong with all the white special polishes I have purchased lately: they are not as vibrant and opaque as the first Konad special polish I bought and I’ve purchased them from the same seller so I know it’s not like I’m getting a fake product–at least I hope not! They also haven’t been as thick as my other special polishes so I am thinking of maybe leaving them open to see if they will thicken up a bit.

It has been crazy hot here in the last couple of weeks and I’ve been sweating like a whore in church. I’ve been trying to clean out my closet AND start making room for my 4th melmer since I have outgrown my polish storage once again. I have managed to clear out a lot of stuff that I just don’t need and got some new bedding. I think the pattern is kind of too busy for me since I like pristine white bedding, but I kind of fell in love with the colors and kept thinking of some stamping plates that are similar to the patterns on my comforter.

All in all, I am super happy with this truly electric blue polish, and I adore the blue/white stamping combination. I have already tried out the other Kiko beauty I received so I will be sharing that with you shortly. It’s a gorgeous duochrome! I hope you are staying cool in this crazy hot weather. Also, keep those in the path of hurricane Issac in your thoughts. Please stay safe if you are in the affected areas.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time!

  1. Ooh I love this blue! And I always love trying brands that are not accessible to me πŸ™‚

I think your bedding is really cute. I don't like busy either but I don't think that's too much.

    1. It's a double edged sword: I love trying foreign brands but then hate it when I fall in love with them and they are impossible to get a hold of! A blue this bright is always a winner for me.

  2. What a gorgeous blue! Literally the first thing I thought of when I saw it was how similar it looks to Baker Street, even before you said it. XD I actually bought Baker Street recently – I finally gave into temptation! Your stamping looks amazing over it.

    1. I will probably still get Baker Street eventually just because I love nails inc so much. I always love the combination of blue and white. πŸ™‚

  3. I agree with Sophie…I saw the pic and was like, "Huh, that looks a lot like that Nails Inc. that Jessica posted and made me want," and so it is! It is beautiful, obviously!
I like the stripey contrasting bedskirt. OMG, I need new bedding SO BAD, but have too many other things to get to before dealing with that. The actual plan is to get a new bed, and then bedding for it, but I keep putting that off due to $.
It's going to be so hot today *cries* I freaking hate it so, so much.

    1. I think the best purchase I have ever made was this bed and mattress. I finally put down some decent cash on a good mattress and it has made all the difference in the world. My bed literally became my favorite place anywhere. I am super obsessed with bright blues like this.

I am just like you, I bought it because it's a good dupe of Baker Street, but I still want this nail inc polish, I don't know why I love this brand so much xD

    1. Thank you so much for sending it to me! You are now responsible for my Kiko love. πŸ™‚ Yes, we are addicts…we still want Baker Street. lol

  9. *Swoon* Absolutely gorgeous, Cynthia! You’re right, this definitely makes me think of Baker Street. I wonder how they compare? Btw, where is Kiko from? I think I need some…

    1. I think I’m going to have to find out and get Baker Street soon! lol When I saw your post on it, I wanted it even more so I’m probably going to get it the next time I go to Sephora. Kiko is an Italian brand, I think. It’s sold around Europe. I’ve never seen any place that sells it in the US nor online. Sadness. πŸ™ Sabrina sent me three of them and they are freaking amazing. Now you know what to put on your b-day wishlist. LOL

      1. Yessss! You need it! πŸ˜€ and you’re right, Iim going to have to add it to my wishlist! I think I’ll look at indies for it too.
