Jindie Nails Water For Elephants

I was really excited about trying Water For Elephants because I am a fan of gray polishes and the glitter in this polish really made it stand out. This is a color I could wear to work and feel like I was being “appropriate” but also feel like the glitter kicked it up a notch in a discreet way. I keep getting flashbacks of the Robert Pattinson/Reese Witherspoon movie as I write this. haha!

I’ll stop blabbering and show you some swatches now. 🙂

The application of this polish was fine. It was very sheer with just one coat but it was easily buildable. I didn’t have any problems in getting even glitter distribution but I still added a couple of drops of thinner which made it even easier to apply. Jen has a sale going on in her shop right now so go check it out here. Personally, I haven’t seen many gray polishes like this so I am really loving it. Thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think of this pretty glitter.

    1. It does have that clear quality to it. The first coat was pretty sheer and it looked pretty even then…I would wear it at one coat if I wanted it to look more subtle. It really is pretty.

  1. oh, this polish is gorgeous. I'd probably buy it just for the name, as elephants are my fave. I LOVE the book but have yet to see the movie!

  3. Awww Water for Elephants is one of my all time fave books…then they had to throw Robert Patterson into the movie remake…I don't like his giant head, he bothers me. ANYWAYS….I do like this polish, it reminds me of Dollish Polish Cold Winds Are Rising but with nicer glitter.

    1. LMAO…giant head? That is too funny. I am kind of neutral about him. I actually think the whole cheating scandal has actually made him seem more human in a way.

Anyway, I really like this subtle polish!

      1. You laugh because you know what I’m talking about 😛 It could be his hair that makes it look so big though…anyways, I will say he is more tolerable than his other half…or former other half.

  5. I like this a lot! I totally agree with you about it being a sort of "get away with it at work" color. I like how the name is so appropriate to the color.
I read the book because it was really highly recommended to me by a friend, but whenever something is hyped to me like that, it almost never lives up to it. It was OK…it wasn't amazing to me. I haven't seen the movie, but, again, I have another friend who loved it, so I see the cycle repeating, haha.

    1. I hate it when that happens. 🙁 Anytime someone tells me that I have to read a book because it's so good, I feel like I will automatically hate it. It's just like when one of my favorite books is made into a movie…I usually stay away. I didn't think the movie was all that. I got it from redbox just because we had to get a movie one night.

  6. This is a cool combo so for that I like it, but it looks a bit sheer and I'm not a big fan of sheer polishes so I'd have to later it over a different grey- maybe elephant walk from ChG. She has some matte glitter polishes that I always see on twitter and IG that are really awesome. Did you get any of those?

    1. I think that is you wanted to do just one coat of Water For Elephants, you could definitely use a dark base color. Like Jen said, it does build up quite nicely.

I got one of the matte glitters: Chomp Chomp! It's pretty cool.
