Hey all. How’s your day going? It’s been super gloomy here lately because we have been receiving much needed rain since Sunday. It seems so weird to have so many rainy days in a row here because we are spoiled by the sunny and warm weather even in the middle of winter. Since sunlight is so rare right now, I took advantage of a break in the rain to take some pictures of a few shimmery polishes. JReine Ultraviolet Unicorn is one of the polishes that I bought on Black Friday so you’ll be seen a few polishes from my haul in the next week. Let’s take a look at my swatches below.
I am the worst at getting shifty shots of polishes that have unicorn pee pigment. As much as I have tried, I have yet to find my holy grail lighting set up. JReine Ultraviolet Unicorn is a super sheer blurple jelly filled with OGUP which is the coveted pigment that gives it that fiery glow. Because this polish is a jelly, it does take multiple coats to make it opaque. For my swatches, I ended up doing 4 coats. Yep, you read correctly: 4 coats. I think that sometimes I get impatient with jellies because I can usually get away with 3 coats when I wait for each coat to dry before applying the next. If you really don’t want to waste the polish by doing multiple coats, you can use a coordinating undie and that should save you a couple of coats. If you like this beauty, I’m sorry to say that it’s no longer available unless you get it in a destash. I purchased my bottle from Jreine for $15. I would recommend that you join the JReine Junkies Facebook Group if you want access to a lot of exclusive news and polishes. (EDIT: I just saw that this polish was still up for sale on the JReine website!)
Let me know what you think of this polish in the comments below. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon.

I have an opaque VNL so I’m sure I would need four. I’d probably layer this over a one coat black.
Its lovely on you!
I struggle to capture shifts in polish too!
This is super pretty ♡
Oh, wow! That looks beautiful!
