November is here which means that the only holiday I like is around the corner: Christmas! I am not a person who usually enjoys holidays, but I love decorating a Christmas tree. There is something so lovely about the process of unwrapping and unpacking Christmas ornaments that just makes me happy. I was looking through my polishes today since I had a bunch of them out after my blog sale post, and I reached for China Glaze Little Drummer Boy. This polish comes from the 2010 Holiday collection which predates my nail polish obsession. The reason why I even got this polish is because I can never think of the song The Little Drummer Boy without thinking of Angela on the office singing this song during office karaoke or when she asked Andy if she could walk down the aisle to this song when they were planning their wedding. hahaha…I am cracking myself up over here. I tried to find a clip of these exchanges on youtube but could not come up with anything. 🙁 However, I did find one clip that I had forgotten about:
That’s classic Dwight right there.
Back to the polish: Little drummer boy is a darkened blue with some gorgeous shimmer. This polish is super opaque so I could have gotten away with one coat but I used two.
Since I haven’t been doing much stamping lately, I decided to stamp an argyle design from Konad plate M60.
I am not that happy with this stamping job. I have noticed that all of the white konad polish that I have purchased the last year or so have been really watery. The first couple of white konad polishes I bought where so thick and opaque and always stamped perfectly. These new ones, not so much.
And just as a treat (I’m looking at you, Lesley!), here is a compilation video of awesome Dwight moments:
I think that I have just found the perfect opening sentence for my next job interview: “How would I describe myself? Three words: hard-working, alpha-male, jackhammer, merciless, insatiable.” How could they NOT hire me, right?
Oh no, I just bought some white Konad to use with my first stamping. I think your stamping looks gorgeous, and I love this manicure! the China Glaze is beautiful!

Thank you, Melanie! I hope your white Konad polishes are the really beautiful opaque kind. 🙂

thank you! so far it’s been OK 🙂
Ahhh! Glad to hear that. What I ended up doing is that I left one uncapped overnight hoping it would “dry” up a little bit and help with the consistency. It did help some but it’s still not as bright white as I was hoping.

I.LOVE.DWIGHT!!!!
Mavel, you are not alone! I love him too for being such a weirdo. I think my favorite Dwight moment is when he catches Pam crying about Jim and Karen and he sits with her and puts his arm around her and says: “So, you’re PMS-ing pretty bad, huh?” LMAO!!!!

Ahhahahahaha! Oh, this made my day! I love the Parkour opening. And Recyclops. Some other fave Dwight moments include “Those are the money beets” and his duet with Andy on Country Roads.
That is a rather gorgeous blue! I do prefer it without the stamping. You and Nicole are pattern twinsies!
LOL…yes! I was just telling my brother about Recyclops. hahahahahaha! Lately, I’ve been preferring everything without any stamping!

this was what i expected from deviantly daring.. exactly this..!! i rather it without the stamping.. i guess after ordering 75 stamps in less than a month i got tired and i’m going through a stamp-free manicure phase..

I am still not over the disappointment about that whole collection! You ordered 75 stamps in one month??? Wow, you went on a stamping binge for sure. I haven’t been feeling like stamping that much lately. In fact, I am thinking about selling my cheeky plates on my blog sale. I just don’t like them that much.

I’m glad you like it. I think it’s one of those polishes that got overlooked a little bit. I’m so glad I found it randomly. The more I look at it, I don’t really see it as a holiday polish but I can see how it fits perfectly into a holiday themed collection.

Look at us w our not exactly Twinsie but… Cousin? nails! I really like that stamp! I knew you didn’t care much for Halloween but you don’t like thanksgiving either? Or New Years? Haha. I loooove Christmas. I like all the lights and decorations everywhere and peppermint schnapps in my hot chocolate and presents! Haha. There are quite a few light displays around here so I usually drag Daniel to several. Last year my whole family (even my dad who can sometimes be a party pooper) went to ZooLights (just what it sounds like- Christmas lights at the zoo) and it was really fun. I hope we do that again. 🙂 Do you guys have a bunch of stuff like that and do you go to any of it?

LOL…no. I am not really a person who likes to celebrate holidays and such. The only reason why I do like Christmas is cause I like to decorate my Christmas tree. I don’t like Thanksgiving cause there are turkey things everywhere and I want to barf. The big mall here (South Coast Plaza) does some major Christmas decorations but I don’t really go check them out much. I’m sure there are festive things to do around here, but I don’t do any of them.
I love how the white looks over Little Drummer Boy
