I feel like Illamasqua was one of my first higher end polish brand obsessions, so I am completely bummed that they are no longer easy to get a hold of since Sephora no longer carries them. At one point I could get them at Nordstrom but then they were gone from there too. I’ve caught them a few times on Hautelook, but I’ve kinda given up on searching for them when I can get other things without such a hassle. I have a pretty sizeable Illamasqua collection, and I told myself that I should start going through my untrieds. I pulled out Illamasqua Dedicate to try out today and jazzed it up with UP and some stamping. Let me show you what I came up with. Continue reading “Illamasqua Dedicate”

Tonic Hush
Hey look! I’m back on my Tonic kick. I was looking through my pile of untrieds, and I was shocked at how many Tonics have joined my little polish family in the last few months. I really wasn’t buying that much polish in 2017, but I feel like I started purchasing more indies towards the end of the year. I was having a real crisis wondering if I really wanted to keep the blog going in 2018. I’ve been at this for 6 years now and sometimes I just feel so tired and like no one even reads blogs anymore. I am so disappointed by how bad Instagram is now so sometimes I just want to shut it all down. Continue reading “Tonic Hush”
Essie Social-lights
I feel like it has been Indie-Central around here these last couple of weeks, so I figured I should throw in a mainstream or two. After all, mainstream polishes are the ones that started this obsession…right?! I know that most people in the nail polish know barely pay attention to mainstream releases unless they get a lot chatter on social media. Although I do find indie nail polishes vastly more interesting, I have to admit that I still follow mainstream brands closely. Essie Social-lights is a beautiful polish from their Winter 2017 collection. I have a soft spot for Essie even though they don’t always come through and the brush is terribly skinny for my wide nail beds. Anyway, when I saw this one at my local beauty supply, I had to get it. Let me show you some swatches of Essie Social-lights. Continue reading “Essie Social-lights”
Tonic Extra-ORD-inary
Ok, so I know that my blog has looked a lot like Tonic central lately, but I’ve just bought a bunch of them recently and I want to make sure that I swatch them before I put them in my melmers. That sounds kind of sad, but isn’t that what some of us nail polish addicts do? We have way too much polish to actually use them all on a regular basis, so when I use a polish more than twice, I know that it’s a good one. So for today’s post I have yet another lovely polish: Tonic Extra-ORD-inary. Let me show you some swatches. Continue reading “Tonic Extra-ORD-inary”
Tonic Love Yourself First
Hey, so California is stupid. Why is it so hot here in January? I want to throw the whole state away in the garbage. If you didn’t already know this about me, I hate the heat. Like really hate it. I struggle through summer every year, so excuse me if I get outrageously upset when it gets close to 90 degrees in freaking January. I’m glad I got that out of my system so I can move on to the polish on hand: Tonic Love Yourself First. It’s such a simple name for such a glorious polish, but isn’t that one of the hardest things for many of us to do? Let me show you some swatches before I get all crazy in my head. Continue reading “Tonic Love Yourself First”
Tonic Innocence
Hola, hola! I had kind of a busy weekend and didn’t have as much time to play around with polish. I’m trying really hard to get through my untrieds before I go nuts buying more. It really is difficult to restrict myself, but I’m making a huge effort. Did I already mention that I’ve put myself on a budget? It’s almost the end of the first month, and I think I could definitely do better. It’s interesting to see where the bulk of my spending is and now I can try to curb those habits. Today I have a beautiful polish to share with you. This beauty was a group exclusive for the Multichrome Madness group on Facebook so go ahead and join if you’re interested in multichrome polishes. Tonic Innocence is a beautiful polish to have in your collection, so let me show you some swatches. Continue reading “Tonic Innocence”
Cirque Colors Coronation
Do you know the satisfaction of finally getting a polish that you have been lusting over for a long time? Well, I was in heaven when Cirque did a pre-order for their glorious shade Coronation, and I was even more elated when I managed to get my hands on a bottle. There was definitely a fair share of drama surrounding the limited amount that was available during restock, so I count myself lucky that I was able to snag one. Let me show you my swatches of Cirque Colors Coronation. Continue reading “Cirque Colors Coronation”
Vapid Disambiguation
I have a confession to make: I don’t like thermals. Ok, I shouldn’t say that I don’t like thermals because obviously I bought this one, but I think what I meant to say is that I don’t like the fact that thermals will eventually stop transitioning after a while so you lose the factor that made them special to begin with. I actually only have two thermals in my few thousand bottle stash and they are both by Vapid. If you want to check out my swatches of Vapid Sweaters N Denim, you can click here. Now, the polish I have for you today is another deliciously complex thermal: Vapid Disambiguation. Continue reading “Vapid Disambiguation”
Tonic Berried Un-Teal Spring
I have been enjoying posting swatches so much this last week, and I am glad to say that I pretty much exhausted a large part of my archives. I still have swatches of polishes on another computer, but I fear they might have been corrupted. I guess I’ll have to try and restore them if I can. Today I have the last of the SHIMMAHS group custom polishes in my stash to share with you: Tonic Berried Un-teal Spring. To be honest, I don’t think I have anything in my stash quite like this so I was very happy when I received it. Look at the pretty swatches! Continue reading “Tonic Berried Un-Teal Spring”
Contrary Polish Hypnotic Bouquet
Well, well, well…hello Monday, my old foe. I had a little bit of a busy weekend so I didn’t have as much time to mess around with polish as I had hoped, but I still got a decent bit done. It’s kind of funny that all of a sudden I have gotten this burst of energy and desire to keep this blog going. I hope that I continue to feel this way so I can get back on track. For today’s post, I have another gorgeous shimmer creation: Contrary Polish Hypnotic Bouquet. This, along with Duchess, was part of the exclusive duo for the SHIMMAHS group. I know I keep showing you polishes you can’t get easily, and for that I am sorry, but I just can’t keep them to myself. Let me show you some swatches of the polish.
