How’s your Monday going so far? I decided to take a personal day today to take care of some stuff so I’ll be running around all morning. This weekend I got down to business with a bunch of swatching so I have a lot of stuff to share with you. Now I just have to make sure that I actually write up the posts which is what I struggle with the most nowadays. So for today’s post I have the Sally Hansen X Crayola Glam Rock Collection to share with you. Let’s get down to business!

I tried to post them in ROY G BIV order as best I could so hopefully you appreciate my efforts. Before I get into my thoughts about the actual polishes, I want to show you the pretty PR package I got for these.
As much as I like getting pretty packages, I am really over getting elaborate PR stuff. I would have appreciated these much more had they come in minimal but safe packaging. Don’t get me wrong; I’m not complaining about receiving beautiful polishes and I am grateful to get PR, but isn’t wasteful packaging on the outs? Anyway, I hope that companies as a whole do a better job of not using wasteful packaging.
Now, let’s move on to the actual polishes. I’m not really a HUGE fan of metallic polishes, but these were really nice. I’ve always complained that the claim of 1 coat for the Insta-Dri line isn’t accurate most of the time, but these polishes really delivered on that claim. I found that they were all super opaque and you could get away with one thick but careful coat. I did two coats for my swatches only because that’s what I’m used to and because I take such close up pictures. For just a regular manicure, I think that you can definitely get away with 1 coat. I didn’t try them out for stamping yet, but they are so opaque that I feel they will work well. Overall, I am super happy with this collection. I know that a lot of people have reported having a difficult time finding this collection, but I always see reports of people finding displays randomly so don’t give up! The prices will vary widely depending on where you purchase.

I have a few of those and they are really nice polishes. They wear well and look fantastic on. I wish I had grabbed more of them when they were around. I first only got the brown one and thought I didn’t need the others as they weren’t pretty in the bottle because the silver is so dominant that the bottle colors were not impressive. But on the nail they are beautiful and shimmery and sooo pretty, so now I am disappointed that I didn’t get more of them. I did got back and get 3 more but by that time the display was pretty bare and not much was left.
I am a big fan of this collaboration! I have tracked down every shade released.
I see what you are saying about the packaging, but I thought it was really cute and made the collection even better! I get more upset about the Amazon and Nordstrom boxes that are huge with 1 tiny item in them.

I really want these for stamping but haven’t found them yet. Blargh! I agree on the packaging. I have no use. Same with the zoya boxes. Such nice boxes but what do I do with them?
