I’m sick of starting every post with how crappy I feel so today I’m just going to blabber on and on about polish…mmmk? This is the first full collection that I have swatched since I cut my nails back down to a squoval shape. I tried to rock the almond/oval shape for a while, but I got sick of it pretty quickly. It’s not that I hate that shape, I just missed my square nails. They do need a little bit more length to get to my ideal shape and size, but they’ll get there soon enough. So, a few people had asked me about the OPI MLB Collection and when I would have swatches up. I just got the polishes on Monday so I got right to work on swatching them. I did finish them on Tuesday, but I already had a few post lined up so here they are…finally. Ha! Let me show you my swatches first and then we can get into the nitty gritty.
OPI Orange You Going To The Game?
Where to start? Well, I can tell you that the formula on all of these polishes is really great which is something that I have come to expect from OPI. I seem to take it for granted at this point so at least I am not always worrying if the polish is going to be a pain in the ass to apply like with other brands that shall remain nameless. However, I am not going to say that I found this collection exciting because to me, it’s a total snoozeville. The reds are nice, the blues are nice…but we all probably have similar colors if not dupes. Orange You Going To The Game? is really foul because it’s a weird orange color and it’s frosty…but some people have already told me that they like that color the most so you know what? Different strokes for different folks. You all know me well enough that if I came on here to tell you that I loved this collection, you’d be doing this:
I see this collection as something that baseball fans would enjoy. It’s like when a themed collection comes out and you want ALL THE COLORS just because of the marketing. Damn you marketing geniuses! So what do you think about this collection? I’m curious to hear your thoughts. Since OPI is my favorite brand of polish, I know they will make it up to me…besides, they have a pass after the gorgeousness that is the Brazil Collection. Well, I hope you’re having a great day–the weekend is almost here! *happy dance* I’ll talk to you soon!

There are a couple pretty shades there, but nothing new.
I was so excited to see that you had swatches of these. It just confirmed that I won’t be needing any polishes from this collection. What gives OPI? Brazil was so good but these are so boring.

I don’t think Right off the Bat is “glowy” enough to really be a dupe for the dollar store polish I bought that is nearly gone, but it will work for a replacement. And my daughter will probably fall in love with I Love Athletes in Cleats, but I do agree, that it’s not a super exciting collection.
Umpires Come Out at Night is so pretty and glossy, but I’m pretty sure I have a dupe.

It took me a moment to realize what the “diamond” polish had to do with baseball hahaha – WHOOOOOSH – that’s the sound of a baseball diamond reference nearly soaring right over my head. I think I like that polish the best out of this collection!

Not the most exciting collection from OPI. That’s too bad.

Oh, I love the orange! But yeah, the rest of the colors are pretty bleh. Nice, but not interesting.

Haha, that’s just what I thought when I saw the press release: those are nice, but I already have 20+ red and blue cremes.
I’m so glad your nails are back to square-they look beautiful! Now I can enjoy your swatches again, the oval shape really took away from the look. I’m going to pass on this collection- nothing I want.
Two words I never want to see together unless it is a beverage – frosted and orange.
SSSNNNOOORRREEE! And that orange is offensive. That is all, hahaha.
The blues look good although its a little hard to justify buying any one forget the whole collection .. None of these are super unique colors 🙁

OMG – I laughed my butt off at the anchorman clip!! Boo to this collection – though I’ll admit the orange is my fave of the bunch. : /
The colors are nice on their own, and I love that there is an MLB collection, but I wish there was more color variety. Plus some of the finishes seem odd for baseball themed polishes. Maybe add a green for grass, or a caramel color for cracker jacks? Or even a lighter blue.

I agree, this collection is really boring!!! I’m not getting even one color…

This collection was a total surprise for me. I like the orange shade which is maybe the most unique out of them. Not sure I will be getting excited over them.
