Hello friends! I am finally back after almost 3 weeks of being sick. I felt ridiculous being sick for this long, but I just could not seem to shake it off. I still have a minor cough and some annoying congestion, but I feel like I can finally say that I’m feeling much, much better. Although I was sick and wasn’t up for much, I still wanted to swatch and paint my nails but I just didn’t have the energy for it. Now that we’re nearing the end of the month, Polish Pick Up is right around to the corner so today I’m sharing some swatches of Music City Beauty A Beautiful Start so let’s take a look below.
When I first got this polish in the mail, my jaw dropped when I saw that gorgeous turquoise base and all the beautiful red to gold shifting aurora shimmer swimming in it. The formula is very nice and it applied easily. I found that I had to let the first coat sufficiently dry before I applied the second coat so that I wouldn’t pull the polish off with my brush and cause some bald spots. I do want to let you know that my pictures, sadly, are not 100% color accurate. Since I’m not one of those fancy bloggers that knows how to do color correcting, I had to try my best. The base color has slightly more green in it than what my pictures show. I tried photographing this polish under different lighting and used three different cameras (yes, 3!!!!) and I just couldn’t nail the color 100%. If you’re interested in purchasing this beauty, the price will be $12.50 and there will be a cap of 70 bottles for the US site and 5for the UK site.
In case you did not know, this month the inspiration is famous works of art. Kim selected Monet’s Impression Sunrise as her polish inspiration and I was so excited to see her creation. Did you know that this painting, Impression, soleil levant, is credited to have inspired the name of the Impressionist movement? I have such a love for Impressionism–especially at the hands of Monet, Manet and Renoir. In fact, that’s why I freaking adore the Musée d’Orsay so much. I used to go there often when I lived in Paris and never got tired of it. I think that the only place that rivals my love for this museum is The Uffizi Galleries in Florence.
If you’ve never heard about Polish Pickup, let me give you some information:
Polish Pickup is a monthly shop that allows you to purchase from a variety of makers for a flat $3 shipping rate. The theme/inspiration is chosen a month in advance and makers will give previews of their creations in the Polish Pickup Pack Facebook group, so don’t forget to join. The shop is open every first Friday-Monday of the month and then the site is closed while orders are filled/shipped. Be aware that shipping can take about 3 weeks so be patient.
So what do you think about this polish? Will it be going on your list? Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon.

I love/hate blue greens like this! I know it’s so gorgeous, but the camera hates it! Very springy!
I agree some shades really are camera shy! I too don’t know how to colour correct. But this is very pretty ♡♡
