Jessica Born 2 Pansy

Can someone please explain to me the name of this nail polish? Born 2 Pansy? What am I missing here? Anyway, this polish is from Jessica’s Spring 2012 Collection and it’s a baby soft pink with a hint of lavender and some fine iridescent blue micro glitter. I liked this a lot more in the bottle than I did on my nails. I don’t really see the shimmer too much on my nails in regular light, but it could be that the sun has been MIA for the last week or so. I love how it looks pink, purple and kinda blue sometimes. The formula was ok. It is very sheer but buildable without any major issues. I had to apply 3 thick coats which I don’t like to do so a quick dry top coat like Seche Vite is a must. Ultimately, I do like this color but can’t see myself wearing too often.

Because I hadn’t done any konading in a few days, I decided to put a stamp on it. Single ladies, put a stamp on it! Cause if you liked it then you shoulda put a stamp on it. Ok, yeah…I think I’m delirious right now.

I liked it better without the konad on it, but it’s too late now.  Oh well, better luck next time.

PS. My nails are growing. Any bets on how much longer I can go without cutting them down to the nub?

  1. The color is meh, but the stamping made it a bit more classier, in my opinion. I haven't tried any Jessica polishes yet. Maybe your posts will inspire me. 🙂

    1. The only one that is getting use out of your nail polishes is your niece! lol I'm going to go and raid your stash. 🙂 It is a pretty bland color except for the blue shimmer. I like that about it.

  2. That looks gorgeous – with and without stamping! I want the pink version of this one… name has temporarily escaped me. Thanks for the great swatches 🙂

    1. Thanks for visiting my blog too and for commenting. 🙂 I really like Jessica polishes…they're a new brand to me even though they've been around forever.

  3. How'd you do the chevron stamping? You know I love my chevrons! :p Also- I laughed when you wrote about how long your nails are and how long they're gonna grow before you hack them cuz that is my life RIGHT NOW. They're probably the exact same length as yours and I'm thinking the exact same thing! I'm like ughhh time to cut them! But then I'm like but maybe I should let them grow! The clean up after painting my nails and wrapping my tips is just so much easier with longer nails so I sorta wanna keep them. Plus I kinda like having more real estate to do stuff with. We'll see who holds out the longest. Is it bad that I kinda hope for a break so I "have" to cut them? Haha. Oh- and can I just nominate this polish for dumbest name ever? Born 2 pansy?! That doesn't even make sense!

    1. I am so going to beat you. I think you will crack first. Next thing I know, you'll have nubbins. I also like having more space to do stuff…especially for stamping. I do notice that a lot of the stamps are too narrow for my nails so that sucks. For the chevrons, I used tape to make the angle and it covers the bottom half of my nail…easy peasy. Believe it or not, I have NEVER wrapped my tips because I don't think it will make much of a difference since I use my nails like tools. Yeah, the name of this polish is really dumb. I thought maybe I wasn't getting the joke or whatever.

      1. I would like to be all "it's on!!!" but you're probably right. I just like my short nails! haha. I can't believe you don't wrap your tips! You're a bigger nail sinner than me with the crackle!! :p I use mine like tools too but I ALWAYS wrap my tips. I can't stand the feeling of the raw slightly rough tips… ick. I'm stealing you stamped chevron idea… IF I can cut the tape correctly. 🙂 And if you're missing out on the joke… guess I am too. haha.

        1. You don't have to cut the shape on the tape. Just cut two separate pieces and then join the corners at an angle. I just made one and used it for all my nails. I mean, you can cut it if you want…just saying. 🙂

Ok, I don't understand what the point of wrapping tips because i scratch everything and the nail polish would just come off. I'm like a cat on a scratching post.

I am so looking forward to some sun around here so I can take some decent pics. But it's raining here now and it's supposed to rain tomorrow too. Oh well. I'd rather have rain than heat even if it means crappy nail pics.
