I don’t know about you, but when you buy as much polish as your average nail polish fanatic, you are constantly on the lookout for sales. Just look at the great success of Nouveau Cheap! I love that blog because it fills me in on all the affordable cosmetics and drugstore sales. I know a lot of people stocked up on Sinful Colors despite the PR nightmare that ensued when they were caught using bloggers’ photos without their permission. Taking it one step further, they manipulated the images onto their models and incorrectly described the process of achieving the look. I find it rather tasteless on their part, and hope that they do right by the affected bloggers.
On my cheap polish quest, I found myself at Ulta a couple of times this week…and by a couple I mean I visited 3 Ultas in my area trying to find good deals. I had noticed that Essence polishes were being put on clearance and that the images of their bottles were different on the website so I figured they were trying to get rid of old stock. Well, tickle me cheap…I was all over that. I ended up purchasing all the colors I could get my hands on and they ended up being around $.79 each. Score! Today I found a few Zoyas on clearance including one of the flaky topcoats, Chloe. Woot! Major score. One of the polishes I purchased today is You Belong To Me which I decided to wear as soon as I got home.
While it’s not very noticeable in the bottle nor in my pictures, You Belong To Me has the faintest shimmer which makes it look so beautiful. The formula was ok…not really problematic but I needed a third coat to smooth it out.
I really like how delicate my nails look with this stamp design. I used BM 314 and my favorite WNW Silver for stamping called I Can’t Stand Up Straight. Does anyone have any recommendations for a cheap silver that stamps really well? Upon closer inspection, I think this design looks arachnid-like and it’s kind of freaking me out.
I was feeling really lazy tonight so I didn’t feel like cooking dinner. Instead, I made my special tuna sandwich: tuna, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, swiss cheese and slices of hard-boiled egg. Egg?!? Yes, egg. You have no idea how delicious it tastes. The creaminess and richness of the egg adds a whole new level of yumminess to this sandwich.
I don’t even know how many times I’ve talked about The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo on this blog, but I’m going to do it again because I have a major girl crush on Noomi Rapace. She is such a crazy badass in these movies. If you have Netflix, the full Swedish trilogy is online and it has like 2 extra hours of content that was edited out when they were released in the US. And yes, I’ve been watching the movies all over again. lol

i like bigger pictures, because I can see better.. but it is because i'm getting older haha..
let me know how it went using the insta-dri for stamping, it it works, then they have this amazing silver I think would work…!!
i love eating boiled eggs then add some maio on it, a little bit of milk and a little of mustard (i hate mustard, but for the purpose of adding flavor to my dish a little must be used) and then deep fried chicken nuggets..
i think i'll eat that junk food until the day I die or the doctors forbid me to eat that. whatever happens the first.!
LOL…I love mustard but only the plain yellow american mustard. I hate the flavor of dijon mustard unless it's incorporated in a sauce or a rub of some kind. I love mayo too but I try not to eat it so much…and eggs! Omg…I love eggs. My mom hates eggs (she hates the smell) so every time she would cook anything with egg, she had to use bleach to clean anything that had touched the eggs. lol And then I wonder why I'm such a weirdo! Look at my role model!

I was thinking of just doing bigger pictures altogether…I guess I will just see how it goes. I am still not so good at taking pictures so it's hard to figure out the settings on my camera and the lighting. Ugh…no wonder people get so worked up when others steal their pics…this stuff is hard!!!!
We make tuna melts with minced hard boiled egg in them. My dad makes lasagna with sliced egg in it too. Both are very yummy. I like eggs in general though. They give those meals a little something extra 🙂
I saw a ton of essences tody at the drug store but I passed on them. Their tiny bottles make me feel ripped off..
Lasagna with eggs…hmmm…sounds like it would be crazy rich and delicious. I love eggs any way I can get them!
The tiny bottles kinda of make me feel ripped off too but I don't realize it because they are so cheap and I ignore the oz. amount on the bottle. hahaha I think they have a pretty nice formula!

I always read your blog (well not always but mostly) on my phone so the pictures look the same to me. I'll update this comment if I look on my computer. This color is so pretty!! I wish my ulta didn't suck and had some of these. I don't even care about a discount, 99 cents is cheap enough. Also I love the stamping! It's so subtle and pretty. Good choice on colors!! 🙂 I have no rec for you tho on silver, I use konad. However I've heard SH xtreme wear works. And I'm sure the Essie would but that's not that cheap.
Oh and- that sandwich sounds like something my husband would concoct. And I don't mean that in a good way. To each their own! :p I like my tuna sandwiches with mayo and pickles and salt and pepper with barbecue chips added as I'm eating it. 🙂

I went to Walmart yesterday and they didn't have the Ice polish that everyone raves about for stamping. Dang it. I picked up another bottle of the WNW silver that I always use so I guess that will have to do for now.

I love the Millennium trilogy! Have you seen the US version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo? I avoided watching it because it just sounded rubbish. I don't understand why Hollywood feels it has to remake every foreign language film. Ugh.
You know, I also stayed away from the US version for the same reasons as you. We always remake foreign films because most Americans don't want to bother reading subtitles. lol Even though I speak French and Spanish, I still read the subtitles when a movie is in one of those languages…I can't help it! haha
I actually did end up renting the US version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and it was pretty good. It was different but it was still good. I'm glad they didn't completely butcher it. However, the original Swedish version is the best and no one will ever play Lisbeth as well as Noomi. She was amazing in the whole trilogy.
