OPI Liquid Sand Get Your Number & Can’t Let Go

I was very weak today, my friends…very weak indeed. Since I’ve been so good about not spending money on non-necessities (namely NOT spending any money), I reverted back to my old polish hauling days. Granted, I didn’t buy 20+ polishes, but I did buy around 8 bottles which is pretty bad. You will be proud of me when I tell you that despite seeing a fully stocked display of the OPI Mariah Carey line, I only picked up two polishes. TWO! That is some serious self-restraint, and I am kind of proud of myself. Now, if only I hadn’t grabbed 6 other bottles from some nearby displays…but that’s another story.

The two OPI Liquid Sand polishes that I picked up are Get Your Number and Can’t Let Go. These were the two shades that immediately grabbed my attention so I settled on them instead of grabbing all four. I have to be honest–I wasn’t super excited when the pics of these textured polishes first started circulating. As much as I like glitter, I think that I prefer the smooth finish and look that only a creme polish can give me. Additionally, I don’t like the idea of rough nails that can get scratchy or can get caught on tights or delicate winter cashmere. Just thinking about that gives me the heebie jeebies. Let me show you some swatches before I go more into my thoughts on these Liquid Sand polishes.

OPI Get Your Number Liquid Sand

OPI Get Your Number is a blue glitter lover’s wet dream. I’m serious. This polish is so incredibly bright and gorgeous that I could barely stand to take it off. The holographic particles really give it an extra kick–I just wish I could capture how lovely this polish twinkles!

OPI Can't Let Go Liquid Sand

OPI Can’t Let Go is a purple shade that looks a little murky as far as I’m concerned. While I am a huge purple lover, I wish this polish was a little brighter. I feel like the base color covers up the holo a bit which is a huge shame. Before this dried all the way, I kept thinking that this polish looked like leather–weird.

So what do I think about OPI Liquid Sand polishes? Uhm, I freaking love them! I thought about applying top coat to them, but I think that would detract from the unique beauty of these polishes. Both of these shades looked fine at two coats, but I decided to add a third thin coat for the swatches above. If you are thinking: “Three coats? Ain’t nobody got time for that!” hold up.

The Liquid Sand formula dries at lightning speed so you don’t have to worry about waiting for layers to dry. Do you want to know what’s the absolute best part? You won’t get carpal tunnel trying to remove these. When I saw the formula, I was getting ready to whip out my industrial sander to remove them, but they actually came off without much effort when I used pure acetone.

And now for you, my lovely readers, I picked up a set of Liquid Sand minis for a flash giveaway so go ahead and enter below using the rafflecopter widget. 1. Ugh… i kinda hated these in the pics I’ve seen too but now that you’re on the bandwagon I feel like jumping right on too. Maybe I’ll check Ulta tomorrow and see if they have Get Your Number. That’s the one I want. Thanks for the giveaway, I’d love to try them all! 🙂

    1. I was totally like that too. I was hating on them but the evil man at my polish place was tempting me with his swatch wheel and telling me how great they are. You should have seen my face when he started showing me the OPI Eurocentrale swatches. It was like he was the creepy man in the van asking me to help him look for his puppy. lol He always shows me stuff that he can’t sell to me yet; I kinda hate him sometimes. 😛 I don’t know how I feel about the black one with red glitter. I may pass on that one.

  2. I’m not sure yet how I feel about the textured polishes… I got “Get Your Number” but haven’t tried it yet. They *LOOK* nice, but I’m not sure how I’ll like having sandpaper texture on my nails. The colours are nice though, so worst case scenario, I can just use top coat and make them not textured. My favourite nail polish finish is just a nice basic creme.

  3. I haven’t tried textured polishes, so I’m not sure how I feel about them.))
I prefer nail polishes with a creamy finish.

  4. I’m not too sure about the whole textured nail polish trend. I haven’t tried these or even the caviar nails that were so popular.. But after all the swatches I’ve seen of these, I think I’d like to try them!

Lately, I’ve been really into glitters but I’d probably have to say that my favorite finish is creme.

  5. I really like these glitters, although I definitely see them more for going out than on the day to day haha. I’ve never used a textured polish but that’s more because I’m so cheap than any dislike for them. And I’m a sucker for a creamy finish!

  6. When I first heard about the liquid sand polishes, I was super skeptical, but from the swatches I’m seeing, I’m in love! I want to try them out. My favorite finish is usually creme, but I love them all.

  7. I’m a little on the fence about them. Colors are good but I don’t know until I see it in person. Overall I like gloss finish. I love the feel of a fresh manicure.

  8. I haven’t really had a polish with textured finish. So far I can’t really say. They look nice in the pictures though. I usually really like creme or shimmer finishes. I’m very picky about glitter, but these look great. 🙂

Thank you for the cool giveaway. 😀

  9. I really didn’t think i was going to like it, but i tried my friends on, on my pinky nail and it was pretty awesome! and it did’t bother me at all 🙂

    1. My favorite of this polishes is probably Get Your Number or The Impossible, just can’t decide, the texture=no idea more than I love the look, even if it probably will give me the same problem as rhinestones and so on=I get stuck in my hair…
My favorite texture? hm, I like the glas texture that Seche gives, even if China Glaze Smoke And Ashes have my absolute favorite finnish! Just loooove it (:

  10. I don’t own too many textured polishes. I usually lean towards the smooth clean look but I have wanted to try these out! They look beautiful!

    Creme is probably my favorite.

  11. I’m a fan of all finishes really, though I hate removing glitter polish! Tough on the nails… Haven’t tried sand finish yet! 🙂

  12. I really hated them at first. The more swatches I see, the more I’m starting to like them 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win, I’m excited! Oh, and my current fave finish is matte top coat over glitter. Don’t really know why, it just really looks neat that way!

  13. Not sure how I feel about textured polish yet since I haven’t tried them. I like the matte look, but jelly’s are my favorite! Thank you for the giveaway!

  14. These are definitely different…but would be so cool to try! I LOVE all of the colors and they look great on you as well 🙂 Thanks!

  15. I’ve not tried many textured polishes – I’d love to, though! I usually go for cremes, but I’m working at becoming more adventurous.

  16. The only textured lacquer I’ve used is a Nicole by OPI shatter in gold. It was actually really nice and wicked sparkly.

  17. I am not a big fan of the texture polish. Love the smooth touch. But I have been thinking about giving the new sand polishes a try.

  18. I haven’t tried the textured yet.Looks interesting…I do know I am not crazy about the glitter polishes because it is so hard to remove…nobdody got time for dat..I need me a cold pop 😉 (I love Sweet Brown..she is on my Facebook wall all the time lol)

  19. Damnit, Cynthia! I’ve been all like, “WTF are these liquid sand polishes? They’re so gross, right?” and then you have this BAM swatch of Get Your Number *side eyes*. I will tell myself I don’t need it because of my $1.74 Orly Angel Eyes score, but…time will tell.
“I was getting ready to whip out my industrial sander to remove them” – LOL!
The minis are a cool idea for a giveaway – a way to try them out without a full commitment! 😉

  20. I haven’t really experimented with textured polishes. The velvet-y looking one reallyreally bothers me though, omg. My favorite finish my cream!

  21. i think that textured nail polishes look interesting but usually they are pretty annoying because they get caught on stuff. i like mixing shiny and matte, like having alternating matte and shiny stripes or someting like that. 🙂

  22. I’ve never tried textured polishes other than matte, but I love matte! I really want to get my hands on these polishes <3

  23. I don’t currently have any textured polished, but I do like the idea,l and I’m excited for the giveaway of course!!

  24. Thanks for the giveaway! I really like the textured finishes, but my only problem has been how much I hate trying to get them off, so that has steered me away from them for awhile actually, but you said that these ones weren’t so bad, so I hope I can try them out! Or else I might have to go buy one and see!

  25. I haven’t decided about the textured polishes yet. I tend to pick at things on my nails like rhinestones and any bumpy spots that top coat doesn’t smooth out with regular glitters, so I’m not sure these are for me. But I do like several of the colors like the blue one and the one with the little hearts in it.

  26. I really love these!

My favorite finish would have to be cremes and jellies, mostly because I love me some jelly sandwiches.

  27. Hi!
Since I’m in to nail art I guess my favorite finish is creme because it most wearable or nail arts. But I do like the other finishes too. Lately I’ve really been in to opaque matte glitter from ex ninja polish. And also milky based polishes with black opaque glitters like W7 -salt n pepper. About regular glittering glitter I just recently been more interested in. I must confess that I though that the OPI liquid sand looked horrible first, I saw a swatch at a blogger with bad pictures and bad application on small nails (on of the blue abve) and I guess I was really discouraged. But then I started to see it in more places and I got more intrigued. And now I really want them because I see the possibilities for nail art and I’d love to try them.

  28. I must be sincere, I was unsure about them in the beginning but reading you, who I think knows pretty much your stuff, I will try them for sure. Also, the colours are pretty awesome, specially the blue you swatched, and I love glitter.

  29. I’m actually not a huge fan of texture polish, but a lot of people seem to have changed their minds about these ones so I would love to try them. My favorite finish is probably jelly.

  30. I think the polish look beautiful, but I have kind of large nails, and I´m a bit scared the sand finis would make them look larger/clumpsier, sort of..but I can be wrong! Normally I just love jelly polish with flakes and glitter in!

  31. I LOVE textured nail polishes.
Ever since the first swatch of Liquid Sand I saw, I think I’ve been drooling constantly!
    I love them!

  32. Wow, Get Your Number is freaking gorgeous. I liked the little video, Ain’t Noboday Got time for that. Whoever did that is very talented with editing and it was rather catchy to the point where I wanted to replay it. Soo right, though, ain’t nobody got time for THAT!

  33. I really hope to win the OPI liquid sand polishes because I can’t find a seller near me who has them. Fingers crossed!

  34. I love the liquid sand polishes. I have Stay the Night and I love it! I really would love to have the whole collection 🙂 My all-time favorite finishes are jellies. (Is that an actual finish?) Thanks for the giveaway!

  35. I haven’t yet tried textured polishes but i can’t wait, they look stunning ! I actually prefer usual glossy finishes but i also love those like catrice frosting

  36. I haven’t tried textured polishes, so I’m not sure how I feel about them.
I prefer nail polishes with a creamy finish!!!

  37. I already got the Stay the Night polish but I love the look and I think it would be great to try the others 🙂

  38. I’ve always liked textured polish to be honest but my favourite has always been matte. Is that a texture? Anyway that’s my favourite.
I just love the feel and how it looks. It is very sexy to me.

  39. I’ve never tried textured polishes, but I’d like to try this one! I don’t know if this is considered a texture, but I like shimmery/sparkly polishes.

  40. Never used textured polishes but honestly I’m amazed by them 😀 from these pics and from other swatches I’m in love with them, there’s sg I love about their surface like an adventurous place -so silly 🙂

  41. Textured polishes are a thing I would really like to try I think the finish is interesting and innovative, but until I see them on my nails I can’t say that I love it for sure. My favorite finish is holo.

  42. I didn’t mean to, but I think I may have accidentally entered twice. If I did, please discount the extra entries.
Sorry. I didn’t mean to. It asked for my email and I put in the same one as before but then in acted like it was my first time filling in the form. Weird.

  43. I am not entirely sure how I feel about textured polish, specifically this polish. I can’t say that I have a fav texture, all I know is that I have really been digging plain, shiny, creme polishes at the present time. However, I would be thrilled to be able to give this a shot, & I’m not sure I will be ale to buy it any time soon….so it would be SO PERFECT if I won some!! Thanks a lot for giving us all a chance to try it out!!!

  44. I think textured polished sound neat, like something new and different to deviate from the usual. But I love my glitter glossies most I suppose 🙂

  45. I haven’t tried any of these particular kind of polishes yet, but I don’t mind texture on my nails as I’m a touchy, feely kinda person and love textures. I don’t really have a particular preference for one or the other when it comes to my nails.

  46. I love the textured polishes and can’t wait to try these! That blue looks sooooo amazing!

    Thanks for the swatches!

  47. I really like the textured polishes. I love seeing any new trend in nail polish. I want to at least see what they are and learn new things to try. I really love matte polish these days.

  48. I thought I’d hate them; but the more pics I see, I want them! Especially the red one, The Impossible! Would love to try them out!

  49. My favorite textured nail polish is Butter London West End Wonderland. My favorite finish is matte !!!!!!!!!!

  50. Wow the blue is lovely! I like textures, it is something fun. I look forward to trying things like concrete and leather effect from Nails Inc when they arrive in SA

  51. Love textural polishes on other people, but I almost never wear them myself. I love big chunky glitter and matte finishes, but I almost always go for a clean, glossy finish myself.
