Happy Tuesday everyone. I am off tomorrow so I’m really looking forward to sleeping in which means that I’ll be getting out of bed at 6 am. WOOOOOT! hahaha Do you even know how horrible it is to have to get up at 3:30 am? No? You’re lucky! I have been such a turd about getting up my posts in a timely manner, and I am finally catching up. Today I have the Venique Goes Hollywood Collection to share with you. Before I even get into it, I have to admit one thing: I don’t like metallics. I just don’t know what is about metallic finish polishes, but I just can’t appreciate them. I tried to put all my metallic prejudice aside before I started swatching this collection so let’s take a look at the polishes…
The formula for all of these polishes is identical so I’ll talk about that at the end. I also want to mention that I am missing one polish from this collection which is the silver metallic called Reels Of Fun.
Venique Golden Age Of Beauty
Venique Diamond Kisses
Venique Down The Carpet
Venique Acting Is Living
Venique Oceans Of Pearls (over Acting Is Living)
I didn’t think that I would be saying this, but I actually kind of liked these polishes. I don’t find the colors too unique, but they are pretty nonetheless if you like metallic finish polishes. To tell you the truth, I was scared that these would be as difficult to work with as the Essie Mirror Metallics, but the formula was rather easy to work with. However, the brush strokes….OY VEY! I could not find any way to work with these polishes that left me with a brush stroke-free result. Overall, if you like metallics, you should look into these. I haven’t tried using these for stamping but I hope they work!

Thank you, BB. I love it too.

You are so right!
I like Down the Carpet, which I just realized is probably because it looks similar to the Butter London Fairy Lights that I wore a few weeks back.
I can’t pick a favorite finish, but I am currently admiring glass fleck (because I am currently wearing a glass fleck). Such an “ooo shiny” effect and they usually clean up and wear nicely.
I do love glass fleck but I think I’ll always be a creme finish girl. Uhhh…yeah, don’t say it. You know what I mean. 😛
Hey Cynthia! Thanks for attempting to check out my blog! Thanks for your comments too! Shame the pictures don’t show up! D’oh! I have set up a WordPress blog too and that seems to be working ok-
Cath Kidston nails are there for your perusal if you get time!
Like “down the carpet” in these shades- but in general, I prefer matte, glossy shades over metallic I think!
Hope you enjoyed your day off! 🙂

That’s great. I’m going to do a lot of catching up on blogs this weekend so I’ll be sure to drop by. 🙂
My first thought was- I bet they’re good for stamping!! I’m not big on metallics either, but I do like using them alongside cremes for the contrast. For what they are- these are quite pretty and yay for the nice formula!

I’m totally going to have to try stamping with them and I think they will work great because they’re super thick feeling and really pigmented.
I like this collection—just to look at. It sets the ambiance for the Academy Award presentation. I feel like pouring a bucketful of gold paint & call myself Oscar for one night only. How glamorous!
Hahahaha! I’d like to see that. Speedos and all…I bet it would be like once of your foam parties.
