How’s your Monday going? I hope all is well and that you’re having a good start to the week–and month! I have had a pretty busy start to this month so I am once again apologizing for my lack of posting. I am *almost* caught up with my swatch pile so it feels good to almost be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. However, I have a bunch of new stuff coming in so that swatch pile is about to grow…big time.  Lately I have been thinking about how in the world certain bloggers are able to do massive reviews every day for extended periods of time because I would go bonkers. Chapeau my dear blogger friends, chapeau! Today I have a new collection to share with you from a relatively new brand. The Kiara Sky Hidden Garden Collection is made up of 6 shades and 1 glitter topper so let me show you my swatches before I tell you what I think of this collection.

First things first: these colors do not make a cohesive collection. They basically give me the impression that random colors from random seasons were lumped together and left me wondering what they were trying to go for. However, the individual polishes are nice…really nice. If you’ve never tried Kiara Sky before, I can tell you that the make the most amazing cremes: perfect consistency and opacity. 4 of the 7 polishes here are cremes so I was very pleased with all 4. There were 2 shimmers that also applied nicely, but Pink Petal is a little too frosty for my liking. The glitter is really nice–it will look great over many different colors but it has a pretty thick formula that dried way to quickly so you can’t overwork it or else you’ll have a gummy mess. Overall, I would have liked to see a collection of colors that made sense to me, but individually, I enjoyed these polishes. If you have a chance to try their polishes out, I think that you will not be disappointed.

Anyway, I hope you’re doing well. Currently I’m without my car (since last Thursday) because apparently my transmission is messed up. I took it to my local mechanic who didn’t even want to mess with it and told me to just take it to the dealership. Since I got my car about 2 years ago and it has such low mileage, the repair is covered under my warranty but I’m pissed. I mean, I’m glad it’s under warranty and all but not having a car sucks. This morning I’ll be taking the bus to work so I have to leave my house right before 7 am even though I don’t start work until almost 9 am. I swear public transportation in California is pitiful. Supposedly I’ll have my car by Tuesday at the earliest so I’m getting read for 2 days on the bus. I used to take the bus a lot when I was a kid and during my first semester in college because I didn’t have a car yet so I know how crazy the bus can be. I actually always end up meeting interesting characters on board so I may have some entertaining stories in the next couple of days. So wish me luck in getting my car back soon and that it doesn’t break down on me again because that would really suck. Thanks for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon!

Sweet baby Jesus on rollerskates, I think I came down with some sort of stomach bug yesterday. My stomach was killing me all day, but I just seem to get sick for random reasons. I didn’t eat anything bad yesterday. In fact, I ate pretty well: yogurt, apple with peanut butter, string cheese and a chicken salad–this was before dinner. Anyway, I think my system has never been the same since I had my gall bladder removed a few years ago. My stomach feels pretty normal now so whatever! Suck it, stupid stomach issues! Yesterday after work I went to my nail polish places and I kind of went overboard. You see, I was feeling pretty good because my manager was giving me kudos for something and then even the director of our department stopped by to tell me what a great job I did. It’s always nice to be recognized for doing a good job, right? Sometimes it feels that the only time you hear from management is when you mess up, so it’s a nice surprise to hear positive feedback too! Look at all the stuff I got:

Polish BingeI tracked down the rest of the Cuccio Colour Precious Metals collection so I was beyond excited. I also found the Essie Winter Collection (which seems so wrong!) and some Color Club Halo Hues that I hadn’t picked up yet. And lastly I picked up a few dreamy Kiara Sky cremes, one of which I will be using for today’s Stamping Saturdays. Ready to check it out?

Kiara Sky Teal The Spotlight 1Kiara Sky Teal The Spotlight 2This beauty is Kiara Sky Teal The Spotlight. You’re welcome. That is all I really have to say. It’s gorgeous, has a gorgeous formula, it is shimmery, buttery and opaque. Perfection.

MoYou London Sailor Collection Plate 07 1MoYou London Sailor Collection Plate 07 2The color totally made me thing of the ocean so I used my MoYou London Sailor Collection Plate 07 (press sample) to stamp this wave design. I’m really digging this! After the fails from the previous weeks, I’m glad this design turned out.

What are you up to today? I don’t have anything exciting planned so I think I’m just going to swatch my little heart out. My fingers are scared in advance, but I’m also really excited to try out all my new pretties! Thanks for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon.

What a craptastic Monday. When I went to bed last night I had a headache and when I woke up this morning I had such a nasty headache that I felt nauseated. I ended up calling out sick to work, and I still have this stupid headache.

I don’t know why I like this movie so much. I still say “It’s not a toomah” at random times. I’ve been feeling so crappy lately, and I’ve had some doctor drama which I was going to write about yesterday but didn’t get around to it. Let me show you the pretty polish I tried yesterday instead of dwelling and stupid stuff.

Kiara Sky Fireball 1Kiara Sky Fireball 2Kiara Sky Fireball 3Isn’t Kiara Sky Fireball a festive glitterbomb? Like every other Kiara Sky polish I have tried, this one is also perfection in a bottle. It is perfectly opaque with two coats, and it applies like a dream.

Well, I hope this headache goes away soon. I wish I could enjoy my day away from work, but it looks like that’s not gonna happen. Let me crawl back into bed, close the drapes and hide under the covers. How’s your Monday going?

I am so glad Friday is here. Even though I had a super short week, I feel like time dragged big time. It’s officially Fall now so there is no excuse for 90 degree weather. Get it together, California! Unfortunately, I think we will be having some scorching days ahead so I’m going to console myself with polish colors that remind me of Fall. The beauty I have for you today is Kiara Sky Echo.

Kiara Sky Echo 2Kiara Sky Echo 3Kiara Sky Echo 4Kiara Sky Echo 1Isn’t this beauty amazingly gorgeous? Not only is it beautiful, but the formula is also to die for. Isn’t this like Fall in a bottle? This brand is just blowing out of the water which is why I picked up a bunch of other colors last week. I’ll be playing with them some more this weekend.

So yesterday after work I stopped by Sprouts to buy some groceries because I wanted to cook dinner and also make something for lunch today. Well, I was walking around the store and people were like “Hi Cynthia!” all over the place which was weird because I didn’t know any of them. When I was walking by the frozen food section, I saw my reflection in the glass case and noticed that I forgot to take off my work badge which has my name and picture on it. haha…great. Here I was walking around like a big old derp with my work badge hanging off my shirt. Tonight I’m helping my bro surprise my sil for her b-day, but I won’t mention what’s going on in the off chance that she randomly reads this post. The awesome part is that I get to see my little Peanut. Yay! As far as the weekend is concerned, I don’t have too many plans except maybe some stuff with friends to celebrate my birthday which was on Monday. Other than that, I’m planning on being a bum, watching some Sons of Anarchy and doing some swatching. What do you have going on this weekend? Thanks so much for stopping by today, and don’t forget to join us tomorrow for Stamping Saturdays!

Stamping Saturdays #34

Stamping Saturdays #34

Hey, how is your Saturday going? I’m enjoying my day so far even though I woke up early and did some cleaning around the house. I ended up going out to dinner with my bro, sil and baby peanut. He is such a cutie pie and is growing so fast! He was a very good boy as usual and played with his crayon the entire time.

babyvIsn’t he just a delicious little cutie pie? So besides cute babies, I do have a mani to show you today for Stamping Saturdays. Are you ready?

Kiara Sky Ms Behaved 1Kiara Sky Ms Behaved 2I started off with two deliciously creamy coats of Kiara Sky Ms Behaved which is a smoky greyed out purple. The formula was fantastic which has been my experience with Kiara Sky as a whole.

Max Factor Fantasy Fire 1Max Factor Fantasy Fire 2In order to make this polish really shine, I applied one coat of Max Factor Fantasy Fire. Gorgeous, right?

Konad M79 1Konad M79 2I then stamped this image from Konad M79 which reminds me of wrapping paper, but I just really like how it looks. I went pretty simple this week, and I really ended up liking this. What do you think?

So, I have tons of swatching to do this weekend and I hope I get through it all before my nails fall off or something. I’ve already swatched the China Glaze Fall Collection so now I am trying to decide between The Giver Collection or the Holiday Collection. It’s so hard to decide because they are all so pretty!! Anyway, thanks for stopping by today–I’ll be picking a winner soon so expect that announcement in the next hour or so. So excited! Talk to you soon.

Stamping Saturdays #32

Stamping Saturdays #32

Last night I stayed up until like 4 am binge watching Orange Is The New Black so I didn’t get up this morning until like 9 am. I had so much cleaning to do today since my brother is a pig and rarely helps out with any of the house cleaning which pisses me off but I feel like I waste more energy bugging him about helping more than to just freaking clean everything myself. Even when he does help, he does such a half-assed job that I end up being pissed and cleaning everything again. Maybe that’s his strategy? Ugh, whatever. I also couldn’t find my gloves so my hands and nails took a beating after I got through the kitchen stuff. Fortunately, I was able to do my Stamping Saturdays mani last night before all of the abuse happened. Last week I showed you an awesome glitter by Kiara Sky, and today I have a lovely creme for you. Let’s take a look at it, shall we?

Kiara Sky Blue-letproof Vest 1Kiara Sky Blue-letproof Vest 2Holy mother of God! Kiara Sky Blue-letproof Vest is one of those perfect blue cremes that make your heart skip a beat. This polish is seriously perfection in a bottle. What you see here is ONE coat of polish and one coat of Seche Vite. I was obsessed with the color, the formula and the shine. You all know how I feel about cremes so this polish made me super happy.

MoYou London Pro Collection 18I then used a geometric pattern from plate MoYou London Pro Collection 18 for my stamped design.

MoYou London Pro Collection 18 1MoYou London Pro Collection 18 12I knew it was going to be hard to center this pattern and while the pattern didn’t come out *perfectly*, I’m not too annoyed by it. There is nothing better than Konad’s black stamping polish for a big design like this because it transfers so crisply.

So what are you up to this weekend? I was thinking about going to watch The Giver or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but maybe I will just spend my whole weekend swatching. I have so much polish to get through, but I’m excited because there are so seriously gorgeous polishes in the mix. Thanks for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon.

Stamping Saturdays #31

Stamping Saturdays #31

I am super late today with my Stamping Saturdays post but better late than never, right? This morning I was supposed to go watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but I totally overslept and ended up going to my nail places. It was a total waste of time because two of my favorite stores were closed. The only good thing was the coffee macaron I had at this awesome Vietnamese-French bakery I like to go to. Anyway, once I got home I started planning my mani. I decided to use Deborah Lippmann Let’s Hear It For The Boy.

Deborah Lippmann Let's Hear It For The Boy 1Deborah Lippmann Let's Hear It For The Boy 2Deborah Lippmann Let’s Hear It For The Boy is a streaky nightmare, but it sure is pretty. If I had paid full price for this, I would be pissed but I got it on clearance on HSN so it’s ok. This is three coats and it’s still kind of streaky.

Kiara Sky Serene Sky 1Have you heard of the brand Kiara Sky? I had not until I saw a huge shiny new display today. I picked up one glitter and two cremes to try the brand out. This is Kiara Sky Serene Sky.

Kiara Sky Serene Sky 2Kiara Sky Serene Sky 3Kiara Sky Serene Sky 4This is two coats of Kiara Sky Serene Sky over Deborah Lippmann Let’s Hear It For The Boys. The polish is full of glitter and is very easy to apply. Isn’t it pretty?

Mentality Black Opaque 1Mentality Black Opaque 2I then used an image from Konad M51 to stamp with Mentality Black Opaque. I just recently purchased this polish for my stamping needs and it’s a decent stamping black. I noticed that this polish dries a lot quicker than the Konad black so you have to work fast before the image dries on the stamper. The image on my pointer finger did not transfer nicely because I waited too long to stamp it. Once thing I like is that the polish isn’t a huge pain to clean up. If you get the konad black on your skin, it is a PITA to clean up because it’s so incredibly pigmented. I will have a more in depth review of the two Mentality stamping polishes that I purchased in a later post.

So what do you do think of this mani? I’m not in love with it, but it’s ok. I can’t wait to try the other two cremes I bought from the new Kiara Sky line so I’ll let you know how they work out next week. Thank you for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon.
