I know I’m not the only one who thinks the whole Suzi thing in OPI polish names is kinda lame. Maybe if I was Artistic Director of a nail polish company, I’d name polishes after myself too! But in all honesty, how awesome does her job sound?
Today I was messing around with a bunch of colors. I have all of my polishes on an excel spreadsheet and wanted to start marking those that I have already swatched. I should have done this from the beginning, but I didn’t think I was going to really keep blogging about nails for long. I am the queen of starting stuff and then just giving up. That is one of the things I really hate about myself so I am glad that I’m still totally excited about doing it. I’d have to say that I am really loving the interactions with other bloggers so thanks to all the wonderful ladies who constantly visit my blog and most importantly, comment! Sometimes I look at my stats and see that a couple hundred people have visited my blog but not many comment. I wonder if I’m not engaging enough or if maybe they just didn’t like my swatches. Now I am just coming to the realization that a very small minority comment and that’s fine with me. I’m not doing this because I want validation; I just think it’s fun and as long as it continues to be fun, I will keep doing it.
I ended up painting my nails with Suzi Says Feng Shui from the Spring 2010 Hong Kong Collection. Why?! Why?????!!!!!!!!!! Why are there so many gorgeous colors out there? It’s blue, smokey and a creme. What else could I ask for?
Here is the color with a houndstooth pattern stamp from Konad plate M63. I hate it when my stamping looks sloppy, but I was in a rush because I was cooking dinner! Who said doing your nails and cooking at the same time would be a good idea?
I kinda really love the way this looks. Now I’m starting to plan my manicure for Saturday. I have to go to a baby shower on Saturday, but I will also be going to see The Hunger Games afterwards with my best friend. FUDGE! I can’t go to a baby shower with crazy dark nails and I can’t go to see The Hunger Games with pastel baby shower nails. What to do…what to do!? Any ideas will be happily welcomed.
Love this color!!
It sure is pretty. Sometimes I wish I had a million fingers to wear all these beautiful colors.
I have Suzi Says Feng Shui as well, and I absolutely love it! I actually love the Hong Kong collection in general, it may have been the first collection I ever obsessed over. Let's see… Edgy nails that would also work for a baby shower… Maybe a gray? Like Skull & Glossbones or French Quarter For Your Thoughts? I always turn to grays when I want to be edgy yet appropriate lol
very cool!! I love you see your stamped nails!! lmao

I love the houndstooth pattern. I need that plate. I need alllll the plates tho so… :-/
If I were you I'd just rock some awesome HG nails to the baby shower… everyone will probably get them and be JEALOUS! 🙂
I know what you mean about seeing a bunch of visits but then getting like A COUPLE of comments. It's like what the heck people… did you accidentally hit up my site or did you mean to and like it? I never get many comments but the ones I do (like from you) totally make my day. I just tell myself the same as you, so long as it's fun I'll keep it up, when it becomes too annoying I'll stop. Occasionally I'm like "why bother having a blog, you can just visit everyone else's blogs…?" but then I'm like "But I wanna share MY nails!" 🙂 I just tell myself that I'll post fairly regularly and never apologize when life gets in the way. I don't mean to sound disrespectful to regular readers, I just mean to respect real life over hobbies, etc. Hopefully that doesn't sound TOO bitchy… if it does, I've got the flu right after recovering from surgery.. so please forgive me 😉
PS: I had to look REALLY hard to find any imperfections. You're in the clear, my multi-tasking friend. 🙂
No wonder you weren't posting for a few days. It's funny because when I get used to seeing daily posts from people, I start thinking "where are they? where's a new post!?" like all obsessively. hahaha I wasn't in the mood to post anything for a few days either so I just didn't. I think that most people will understand that this is a hobby and not an obligation so I don't think you sound bitchy or disrespectful. I think we both feel that we will do this for as long as it's fun. I've seen plenty of blogs where people start saying that posting felt like an obligation and was no longer fun so it wasn't surprising to see them give up shortly thereafter.
How's everything going with your surgery recovery? Oh, and poo to the flu. 🙁
Yeah I noticed you were a little MIA too. Oh well, getting a few days "off" so-to-speak is good for everyone. 🙂 I'm doing great surgery-wise, thanks for asking! I can't even believe how crazy it is to have surgery and then seriously have what looks like a cat scratched me just 2 weeks later. It's amazing. If I could do it again, as soon as I had ONE gb attack (assuming I knew what it was, of course) I'd get that sucker ripped out asap. I'd never had surgery before so just the whole experience was interesting and quite amazing really. If I wasn't coughing my guts out all night long (notice I'm leaving this comment at 3am my time, and I'm exhausted!) I'd be feeling no pain at all. I just can't say how interesting the whole surgical experience was, although the ER experience was less exciting to say the least. However- I got a survey in the mail!!!!! HaHA! >:]
