You don’t know how excited I was when PPU announced that the inspiration for May 2018 would be the 90’s. I consider myself a 90’s child/teen so I was super excited to see what the makers would come up with. One of the first polishes that I knew would be mine is Pahlish Mother Of Invention because of those beautiful warm brown/burgundy tones. Let me show you some swatches below.
Isn’t this a beauty? It’s such a complex polish! The formula on this baby is very nice, not too thick and not too thin so it applied beautifully and was fully opaque after two coats. I always like to hear about the inspiration behind products so this is what Shannon from Pahlish had to say:
For me the 90’s were all about being a kid and getting to pick out a new polish to share with my mom while we were at the store. Street Wear stuff really kicked off my polish obsession and my makeup obsession in general!
Trying to hunt down discontinued stuff like this is how I became a polish addict and what inspired me to start making my own! Our shade for May is called “Mother of Invention” and pays homage to these classic shades! I wanted to create something that echoed the vibe of Street Wear but in an indie way!
Mother of Invention is a cool plum/mauve base with scattered holo flakes and a rich copper/green/violet shifting multichrome shimmer.
I love that she mentioned Street Wear polishes because I loved that line so much. I wish that I had kept the bottles I had back in the day, but I never thought I’d be so polish obsessed in the future. Let me know what you think about this polish below. Did you get a bottle? Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon!
