Happy Wednesday, everyone! This is my favorite weekday since I get to sleep in and be lazy (yay to no work on Wednesday but boo to working one day on the weekend). I always tell myself that I should wake up early so I can get a lot of stuff done, but I never do. I ended up waking up around 8 and just vegged out for a while. I also went to get an eye exam because I hadn’t gotten one in over two years and I was a little worried just because my eyes have always been really finicky. Well, now I have to get my eyes dilated because a nerve looks a little “bigger” whatever that means so I’ll probably get that done next week. Other than that, they said everything looks fine and I got fitted for some contact lenses. I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 15 and then started wearing contacts at 20. Then when I got Bell’s Palsy, my eyes got even more finicky so I decided to just go back to glasses until now. I almost feel like glasses are part of my personality now, but they can be so annoying at times so I’m looking forward to the convenience of contacts. Well, now that I have complained about my bad eyesight, I have some fun swatches to share with you today. Are you ready to hear what I think about the OPI Couture de Minnie Collection?
The whole time I was using Innie Minnie Mightie Bow, I had a craving for Hot Tamales. Maybe it’s because this polish is so fiery! The formula on this polish is pretty fantastic and I could have gotten away with one thick coat, but I applied 2 thin coats here. This kind of color is one that I consider a staple because of the rich red hue, but the shimmer in this really makes it even more beautiful.
A Definite Moust-Have was really hard to photograph because it was acting like a neon. It’s definitely one of those pink leaning coral shades that have been so popular and that I can’t get enough of. The shimmer in this polish is very prominent and I love how my nails glowed in the sunlight. The formula was ok as it did feel a bit streaky in a strange way: the color was fine but it didn’t feel like it leveled out very well. The second coat helped with that so I do recommend thin coats. Once I applied my top coat, everything was peachy keen.
I was super excited about Minnie Style because I love the color combination of the glitter. It was easy to apply, but I do recommend some dabbing just because the glitter can be dragged off your nails.
Chic From Ears to Tail was a bit of my problem child when it came to application. It was very streaky in the beginning so I had to apply 3 coats. This color kind of reminds me of Pink Friday but with some pretty shimmer thrown in. Unfortunately, the shimmer is very hard to capture and it doesn’t show up very well on your nails unless the light hits them a certain way.
And just for fun, here is Minnie Style over Chic From Ears to Tail. Cute, huh?
And last but not least, here is Magazine Cover Mouse. As you may know, I am a huge Liquid Sand fan so I’m really happy to see this new addition to the line. All of the Liquid Sand polishes that I have ever used have been a breeze to apply and dry lighting fast so this one was no different. At first, this one reminded me a bit of Jinx, but obviously it’s not orange but the shimmer and shine is pretty similar.
So what do you think about this small but sweet collection? Are you a Minnie Mouse fan? Do you have a favorite from this collection that you’ll be getting? Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon!
I need the first two. Like, NOW! And I’m waffling on the glitter. Not excited about the others. Can’t wait until my beauty supply store gets them in June. Awesome swatches, as always! 😉

Thanks so much! Yes, I do think the first two are the best ones. I didn’t think I was going to like the glitter as much but I just love the colors in it.
Looks like a great collection! Some wonderful colors 🙂

Yes, it’s definitely a fun collection!
I am loving these editorial Minnie colors! Need the glitter and probably Moust-Have. That one reminds me of I Eat Maine-ly Lobster, but I think that one has gold shimmer. Totally different, right 😛
Oh yes, totally different. We can always find minor differences to justify all of our purchases. hehehe
Minnie Style shall be mine…Love those colors!

Yes it shall! 🙂
very cool — i have seen swatches of this collection before, but hadn’t seen a picture that really captured the shimmers in Mightie Bow until now. Great swatches!

Thank you so much! That’s such a great compliment. 🙂
Oh man… I kinda love Minnie Style, and I love that it’s named after Minnie. They meant my Minnie, right? Anyway. And that Moust Have one is really pretty too. I even like that red w all the shimmer. What a fun collection to get your hands on your lucky duck. 🙂

*you. “Your lucky duck” just sounds odd.

If I had a duck, I wouldn’t be me. :/
Well, we can continue to think they mean your minnie. 😛 It really is a cute and fun collection. As my first official swatch post, I am very pleased with these polishes…well except for the super light pink on because it was kind of a pain but it’s still prelly.
Why are your swatches so perfect? I am jelly of your cuticles and nail beds 🙂

Great choice! It’s a classic color.
I loved the first Minnie Collection and from what I’ve seen on swatches I will probably love this one too 🙂

I think I like this one better than the first one–maybe it’s because I’m such a huge fan of the Liquid Sand and I like the glitter in this collection a lot more.
It’s a very great collection 🙂
It’s so fun and I cute–I totally agree.
A Definite Moust-Have is a definite must-have!!!! Love your nails <3

Yes, it’s so pretty but too bad it was the most difficult one! 😉
These colors are all stunning! I still don’t know what I think about textured polishes. I keep seeing them EVERYWHERE And i Just an so afraid to try them, I am so finicky like that. I hope that the contacts work out for you, I am contemplating the lasik although my husband doesnt want me to, I hate wearing my glasses; but I cant see without them 🙁

I want Lasik so bad. 🙁 I should have done it when I had some insurance. Now I am kind of worried because I have to go in next week again because apparently something looks off with my optic nerve so they are going to dilate my eyes to check it out further. I hope it’s all ok because I don’t have insurance right now so I’m basically SOL if I need any further tests or treatment. Oh well…my eyeballs falling out won’t be so bad, right? LOL
I think you should give textured polish a try–I bet you will end up liking them. 🙂
I didn’t think I’d be crazy about too many of these, but Innie Minnie Might Bow and A Definite Moust-Have are fantastic.
Magazine Cover Mouse reminds me of Julie G Hot Cinnamon Kiss, although it may contain *slightly* more color variation (although the Julie G has it, too).
Yay for your first OPI collection review! 🙂
You know you want them anyway. 😛
Your swatches are awesome! They make me wanna have the whole collection. But I ordered only Minnie Style. Can’t wait to try it!

Poo to them. 🙁
Hi 🙂
I’ve ordered Magazine Cover Mouse because I’m a fan of sandy polishes, I just hope it isn’t orange (I’d like red, not orange shade) 😉 Nice pics.
