Don’t I always start my Monday posts by commenting on how much I hate Mondays? Well, this will be no different. I had a hell of a time waking up this morning because of the damn time change. When my alarm went off at 3:30, I nearly wanted to cry. I also had the most random dream about a guy I haven’t thought about or talked for like 10+ years. You know those people that touch your life in a very significant manner and then things get a little ugly and you decide to walk away out of pure laziness? Yep, the story of my life. I feel like I tend to not want to deal with things when they are challenging out of fear of failure or being hurt. Anyway, it was really strange to have a dream about him but wherever he may be now, I hope he’s happy. Oh my God…I’m such a loser.Let’s move on from the sappiness and focus on the pretty polish, shall we? Today I FINALLY got my act together and I will be sharing my swatches and review of the Nubar My Sweet Escape Collection for Spring 2013. I’ve had these polishes for a few weeks, and I just couldn’t find the time to swatch them all. This Saturday I swatched probably 20+ polishes so I have a good stock of pictures for upcoming posts. Well, here they are! Are you ready for my “perfect little tan fingers?” (One of my readers wrote that in my comments and it made me giggle.)
Am I the only one who has been humming this song the whole time?
Let me just get this out of the way: Resort Yellow is probably the most awesome yellow that I have ever used. Not only is it a true yellow, but it is super opaque and it looked perfect at two coats. I’ve said before that I’ve been completely obsessed with yellow polishes lately and this one just made my cool like Donkey Kong list.
All I can think of when I look at On The Radar is: That is a one spicy meatball. I don’t know why this makes me think of marinara sauce. Is that weird? It’s a cherry tomato color with some orange in it to boot. It’s pretty but it’s not usually a color that makes me get all excited.
I like bright blue polishes. I like From Dusk Till Dawn. That is all. Actually, this one is a little sheer so I felt like I had some bald spots. I have a lot of blues like this one but I still like it.
The Pantone color of the year is emerald so I’m really digging this color right now. Into The Wild is that gorgeous shade of green/emerald that everyone will be rocking this year. I think it’s a little smoky and not as bright as true emerald–more of a gorgeous jade. I’m definitely on board!
I am a little torn about Forbidden Fruit. It’s such a strange looking color, but I kind of really like it. It reminds me a bit of pureed pale yams…or baby food! I actually do like how this color looks on my skintone but I don’t know if it’s a universally flattering color.
Could My New Obsession be my new obsession? It’s so pretty. I just can’t get enough when it comes to blue and turquoise polishes. How many of these do I really need??? I don’t know, but I seem to collect them. Heck, who am I kidding? I collect every color. hahaha
I think that Sour Apple is just kind of strange. It makes me think of Jolly Ranchers. Omg…I use to eat Jolly Ranchers like my life depended on it when I was a kid. Hello, diabetes! The formula on this one was a little thin compared to Resort Yellow. I don’t know if I really like this color
Jaded is my second favorite polish in this collection. It’s beautiful, bright yet smokey. I can see myself wearing this year-round. The formula was pretty good and I only needed two coats.
Since I have some similar colors and bought a few dupes of colors I knew I wouldn’t want to part with, I will be putting up a lot of these polishes up on my blog sale so make sure that you check it out if you’d like to get your hands on any of these colors. Click here for my blog sale page. Also, don’t forget to enter my giveaway for a set of minis from the OPI Oz The Great And Powerful Collection. Click here to enter.
I hope you liked the colors in this collection. I know Nubar isn’t as accessible as other brands, but they are definitely worth tracking down or buying them online. Let me know what you think. Do you have any favorites? Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon.
Very nice colors

I’m really happy with how they all look.
Pretty swatches! Loving Into The Wild also.
Thanks, Kara!
I actually REALLY like all of these colors! I think it’s my favorite collection to come out in quite a while!
I think it’s a pretty diverse collection of colors. I think it’s definitely more interesting than a lot of the other Spring Collections.
Daylight Savings Time is the devil. Yesterday my brother and I spent most of the day complaining about how it was the worst day of the year and how much we hate it, hahaha.
Speaking of things that I hate, I also hate having dreams about exes. It it weird to me how some appear often and some not at all, and it always makes me feel weird, like, “Am I still hung up on this person?” I read that that may not be the case, that it could be related to feeling insecure about yourself, and I thought, “Oh, that kind of makes sense”, so I chose to accept that explanation.
You are definitely not the only one humming that song (I hope it is Gwen Stefani’s Sweet Escape, ’cause the link isn’t showing at the moment), because it popped into my brain immediately. WOO-OOO, OOO-OOH!
This collection deserves its own theme song because of Resort Yellow. If this is a true yellow that is opaque in two coats, then Nubar deserves mad props.
Into The Wild also deserves a theme song: “Come with me, my love, to the sea, the sea of love, I want to tell you, just how much I love you…”
And like your other reader, I also enjoy seeing swatches on your “perfect little tan fingers.” 🙂
I’d like to think that it’s all about insecurity because it would be beyond pathetic if I was hung up on someone I haven’t seen or talked to in over a decade and he’s married with kids. hahahahaha OMG…why did you put that song into my head???????? Since we’re talking about Gwen, I just had to go listen to Cool and watch the video. I dunno, but that video is kinda heart breaking. I hate getting all sappy. lol
I am so with you on yesterday being the worst day of the year. On the other hand, I love “falling back.” 😛
I’m telling you–this yellow is to die for. I highly recommend it.
Love all these shades, they are all so vibrant and strong. Particularly like the green- will have to get my hands on that.
P.s- after months of reading your blog, you have inspired me to write one myself. Would love you to check it out!
Ahhh…yay! I will definitely check it out. I always love hearing of people starting their own blogs. I hope you enjoy blogging.
Some of these are very pretty. I am just starting in my obsession in nail polish, and only own a few. I think the one I like best in this collection is “Into the Wild”.

Considering your massive hauls lately, I think you’ll have more than me in no time at all. 😉
Hm, I actually think that Sour Apple looks kinda awsome haha, just a little bit sheer 🙂 Good swatches (y)

Thank you! 🙂
Oh my gosh!!! I love the yellow and that last color is just PRETTY!! And the emerald one. And even that weird orange. So pretty. I’ll be looking at your blog sale, maybe when I get paid I’ll just order some of your polishes instead of buying new. You already try them out and really cut out that “hmm is this gonna be good or bad” guess work that I especially get frustrated with. The latest SC yellow I got (unicorn) is just awful. I think I might just throw it away. 🙁 All of these are pretty tho and w the exception of the one blue the sound good, too.

I still haven’t swatched the polishes from the SC Sugar Rush Collection–I don’t remember if I got the yellow or not. I think both you and Frosso said the yellow sucked so now I’m all expecting it to be atrocious.
I really like this collection too. I wasn’t that happy with the orange but it’s like now I really like it!
