Music City Beauty Summer 2019 Collection

Hey there! Long time no blog. I know I’ve been talking about a bunch of changes in my life that were coming up and suddenly I’m at a standstill. One thing that is changing is that I am taking up some new responsibilities at work and that will be a huge change for me. I hope it all works out for the best. The other day I was talking to a friend and she told me that she has never seen me as content with work as I am now. I totally agree with her and it made me feel so lucky! Now that Summer is officially here, I am sharing some fun shades from the Music City Beauty Summer 2019 Collection. They are bright and fun, and I hope that you enjoy them as much as me. Let me show you some swatches.

Before I get into the polish, can we just take a moment and take in my round nails? Every once in a while, I get into a “mood” and decide to change my nail shape. I am very interested in hearing what you think of this shape so please let me know in the comments below. Now, if you haven’t figured it out yet, this collection is all about ABBA. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been an ABBA fan for as long as I can remember. Listening to ABBA always puts me in a great mood…it’s like their music was made for fun Summer days. I have always loved how their music is used in some of my favorite shows. Remember Andy in The Office using Take A Chance On Me to woo Angela? What about Malcolm and Reese dancing to Dancing Queen on Malcolm In The Middle? And what about my favorite when Dewey dances with his babysitter (played by Bea Arthur) to the tune of Fernando? If you’ve never seen these gems, do yourself a favor and YouTube them. And before I forget, please check out Muriel’s Wedding. You can thank me later.

My absolute favorite polish of this collection is Super Trouper. It’s such a fun polish that will require some careful application, but I think it is so worth it at the end. It’s a very dense glitter polish so I found that using a dabbing application will get you full coverage results with 2 coats. You can also using the sponging method which soaks up the clear base and deposits just the glitter onto your nails. As you can see above, I also showed you how it looks mattified. I love it matte because it gives me Floam vibes.

When I first saw Winner Takes It All, I wasn’t too sure how the color would look on me. I figured it would give me lobster hands. While I am still not 100% convinced that it compliments my skin tone, I actually ended up liking it. It’s such a unique cantaloupe color with contrasting pink shimmer. I am always happy to see a great shimmer polish and wish that my pictures captured it well. The application was nice. I did a thin first coat and then I floated on a second thicker coat after letting the first coat dry. This gave me full coverage and I avoided any dragging or bald spots.

My second favorite (or tied with Super Trouper) is Take A Chance On Me. Now, it’s not just my favorite because it’s one of my favorite ABBA songs, but because it’s such a pretty milky polish full of flakes and a flash of magenta/purple shimmer. The formula was superb: easy to apply, self leveling and opaque at two coats.

And the last polish in this quad is Dancing Queen. I don’t think that any other ABBA song is as icon as this one, and I got a kick out of the polish being so shiny and full of sparkle. Although the base is a muted gray, there is a lot going on with it and will definitely shine in the right lighting. Don’t let my swatches fool you: this one is full of holo! This one also only needed two coats for full opacity.

So what do you think about this collection? The Music City Beauty Summer 2019 Collection will be available starting 6/29/2019 at 7pm CDT. 1. I switched to round in 2014 and never looked back haha. It takes some time to get used to. The first two are my favorites but take a chance is my favorite

  2. Your nails look fabulous and gorgeous swatches. Dancing Queen has to be my favourite as it was my song when I was little!
