Of Life and Lacquer

I know that I talk a lot about the weather because it directly affects my mood, but this time I’m talking about the weather since it’s the theme for June’s Polish/Indie Pickup! I’ve pretty much caught up on my swatching obligations so I’m enjoying just wearing pretty polish for more than a day or two. I actually rounded off my nails so I’ll be sporting that shape for a while. As much as I like my squoval nails, I feel that they are more prone to breaking which will not work well for me during the move. Today I am going to share with you swatches of KBShimmer What Does This Mean? as well as a new scrub for IPU. Let’s take a look at my swatches below.

What you see here is two coats of KBShimmer What Does This Mean? This is a beautiful and dusty blue full of holo flakes with red-to-green Aurora shimmer for that gorgeous contrast. The formula was very nice–opaque with two coats and perfectly self-leveling. I applied 1 coat of glossy top coat but then decided to also apply a matte top coat.

I applied 1 coat of KBShimmer Oh Matte! over my QDTC and I absolutely love how this looks.

I don’t know about you, but I love using scrubs on my hands. I tend to be very rough on my hands and nails, and I find that scrubs help me soften and exfoliate. KBShimmer makes my favorite scrubs so I was super excited to see this fun rainbow scrub. The scent, After The Rain, is very sweet and juicy with notes of raspberries, sweet melons, coconut, lemonade and raw sugarcane. To use this, you just want to wet your skin and scoop out the desired amount and rub it in a circular motion. You won’t believe how soft and fragrant this will leave your skin!

Polish Pickup is a monthly shop that allows you to purchase from a variety of makers for a flat $3 shipping rate. The theme/inspiration is chosen a month in advance and makers will give previews of their creations in the Polish Pickup Pack Facebook group, so don’t forget to join. The shop is open every first Friday-Monday of the month and then the site is closed while orders are filled/shipped. Be aware that shipping can take about 3 weeks so be patient.
