Of Life and Lacquer

Hey there! How are things? I’m doing ok–just chugging along as I watch the year slip through my fingers. Work has been going well so I can’t complain about that. Isn’t it nice to be content with work? I’ve had so many bad jobs in the past that I am just so happy to work at a place that doesn’t make me want to cry. Since we’re nearing November, you know that Polish Pickup is just around the corner. Today I have KBShimmer The Nothing as well as a new yummy sugar scrub to share with you so let’s take a look!

KBShimmer The Nothing is a gorgeous magnetic polish that is based on the cover art for The Neverending Story. The deep and rich emerald base shifts to a navy blue and an array of holy glitters and pink-to-blue shifting micro flakes make this polish so complex. For those of you who love galaxy manis, you will fall in love with this one. I applied two coats for my swatches: 1 thin coat and a second thicker coat and I immediately used my s magnet to create the pattern. If you prefer to use a dark base such as black, you will only need 1 coat of the polish.

I have a hard time describing scents myself, but I will tell you that the scent on this sugar scrub is super yummy. It’s sweet but not overpowering. You will get notes of amber, plum and cashmere musk. I know I say this every month, but I love KBShimmer sugar scrubs and use them regularly. Now that the winter months are coming, I know these type of products will be in heavy rotation for me.

Polish Pickup is a monthly shop that allows you to purchase from a variety of makers for a flat $3 shipping rate. The theme/inspiration is chosen a month in advance and makers will give previews of their creations in the Polish Pickup Pack Facebook group, so don’t forget to join. The shop is open every first Friday-Monday of the month and then the site is closed while orders are filled/shipped. Be aware that shipping can take about 3 weeks so be patient.
