Color Club Twiggie

I asked my brother what he thought of when he hears the word Twiggie and he said: model, skinny. I know this color does refer to Twiggy, but I don’t see the connection. I started rambling that maybe it’s green like a twig from a tree or whatever. Yeah, I’m just going to enjoy the polish and not overthink it.

This seems like a really weird green to me but weird in a good way. I don’t think I have another green quite like this one. It’s almost milky. Now that I think of it, maybe it’s similar to Essie Mojito Madness? I did have some problems with the formula because it was super streaky. It took three coats to finally level out this polish and cover up a few bald spots.

Your eyes are not deceiving you: yes, this is glitter.

This is one of the specialty glitters that China Glaze put out a few years ago. This one is called Sour Apple and I love how well the name fits the look of this polish. This is all I could think of while I while I applied this glitter:

And as a sweet, sweet ending, here is a song that everyone should love:

  1. This is such an off shade, I never know what to think of it. I just can't quite put my finger on it! It is a good pair for Sour Apple though.

    Your nails are looking long!

    1. Really? This was after I filed them down a bit. I filed them down again this evening because they were starting to bug a bit. The length doesn't bother me as much but it's just the weird shape…they start to get more narrow at the tips the more they grow so that drives me nuts.

Yeah, this green is just kinda weird. I like weird shades most of the time but I'm also not completely sold on it. I think the glitter brightens it up a lot.

    1. LOL…everyone is saying that now. I actually filed them down tonight so they're shorties again. Hey, let's plan something with Nancy. She said she wanted to hang out but she didn't respond on FB.

  2. Thsts a pretty green!! Too bad the formula wants to streak! And I really like that glitter! The name definitely is perfect for it. Hmm… Twiggy. Maybe it's supposed to be a color from that era (70s…?) idk. If it were 70s I'd expect a slightly darker more olive-y green but who knows. I don't care about polish names except I hate zoya's names all just being random people names. It drives me crazy!!

    1. The Zoya names didn't bug me so much before but now they're starting to. I just like nail polish names to make sense, you know? Even if it's stupid and cheesy, at least it kinda fits. You need to get some Zoyas!!!! The have a promo going on for 4th of July.

  5. Firstly, give your brother some credit for his answer! My brother would be like, "I dunno…"
Not sure what I think of the color, but I like it with the glitter! I removed my jelly sandwich last night and was cursing the glitter removal and my brother said, "This is a completely self-inflicted problem," and I said, "I know. Shut up."
"You took me by the hand… made me a man… that one NIGHT! You made everything ALRIGHT! So raw, so right, all night, alright, oh yeah! Oh yeahhh… So raw, so right, all night, alright, oh yeah! "
Michael Scott: Man I would love to burn your candles!
Jan: You burn it you buy it!
Michael Scott: Oh good! I'll be your first customer!
    Jan: You're hardly my first.
Michael Scott: THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!

    1. I don't understand how so many people didn't realize that song was about Hunter and Jan. I know it's implied, but that's one of the funniest parts of the episode. Every time I sing that song, I also add Andy's falsetto. LOL And who can forget Jan's dancing. It's taken me like 5 minutes to type this because I keep laughing.

Oh yeah, my brother gets props. He loves pop culture and is a history nerd. And self-inflicted problem is right…it's a sickness.

  6. I think it’s a “Mod” Green. Twiggy was big in that time, so it fits time wise! I like it but I know I would never wear it.
