When I first started collecting nail polish, China Glaze was one of the first brands that I focused on. I knew that it would be hard to get some of the more sought after shades like those from the OMG Collection, so I searched out other colors that I came across on makeupalley. Do you guys remember when Sephora by OPI put out Metro Chic? It was pretty much impossible to get for a while, and then I saw people talking about how similar it was to China Glaze Channelesque. Well, that is when it went on my list, and I started looking for it at my beauty supply stores. Imagine my surprise when one day I found multiple bottles in some forgotten corner at one of my favorite beauty supply stores. Let me show you some swatches because I talk more about this polish.
China Glaze Channelesque is a beautiful mushroom purple taupe. Can you imagine how awesome this color must have been when it first came out? This polish is part of the Creme Couture Collection from 2004. The formula wasn’t all that great until I added a few drops of thinner. After I looked at my pictures, I noticed that I got a few bubbles and streakiness from the top coat that I used…in case you were wondering. Then I decided to do some stamping with Essie Nothing Else Metals and my Lantern & Wren Clear Jelly Stamper. I think it turned out pretty well, don’t you think?
Speaking of old China Glaze collections, have you heard that China Glaze is doing a re-release of the OMG Collection?!
It looks like there will only be 6 colors, but hopefully they do them justice. I think that it’s kind of lame not to do the whole 12 color collection…right???? Anyway, I am excited to get my hands on these. What’s your biggest nail polish lemming? Thanks! Yeah, I was looking for mine but I think I misplaced it.
I think it looks very much like China Glaze Release… Do you have it, to compare?
I used to have release and I looked at my swatches of it. I think it’s like a polish cousin. I don’t think they are dupes. Below Deck is as close as you’re going to get to Channelesque, I think.
Love this color! Looks gorgeous on you!

Thanks, Leslie!
Your stamping is perfect with your base. I’m still yet to try China Glaze x
Thanks! 🙂
Hi Cynthia, I generally avoid China Glaze polishes after too many experiences with inconsistent formula; and, I don’t prefer their long, skinny, round, soft brush. But I enjoy seeing all of their collections, because for a mainstream brand, they are very experimental with different finishes. Some are winners and other are not, but at least China Glaze tries to be creative!!
Because I have wide nail beds, you would think I wouldn’t like their brushes but I do. I was just doing my nails with a CG shade and it was so nice. I tend to have pretty good luck with CG and they wear well on me so I like the brand a lot. I agree that they are more creative than other mainstreams.
Love the shade, so pretty and classy! Hadn’t heard they are re=releasing some OMG shades, how exciting.
I love how classy this shade is for sure. I am patiently waiting on details for these OMG polishes.
I am SO excited for the new OMG collection!
