China Glaze Holiday Joy 2012

Ok, so I just shared the PR info for the China Glaze Holiday Joy Collection and I suddenly realized that I already had 3 of the polishes. Ehhh???? Well, a few weeks ago I went to one of my nail places and I was in a buying trance and was just grabbing random polishes. If this has never happened to you, then you’re probably not really a nail polish addict. Anywho, when it came to add the polishes to my spreadsheet, I realized that they were from the new collection. I am not sure if my nail place put them out by accident or what because they were mixed in with all the other older regular colors. Anywho, I decided to swatch them for you even though they are not even close to the colors that I want from this collection. I am actually really looking forward to Blue Bells (BALLS! hee!) Ring and Winter Holly. My cuticles haven’t quite recovered and my nails are still short so bear with me!

Aren’t these three the most yawn-worthy colors? I mean, they are so been there done that. There is nothing unique or exciting about these colors because it’s like they are holiday collection staples. Ugh…why did I get them? WHYYYYYYY?   (Press the button!) I didn’t want to make fun of Nancy Kerrigan cause I totally loved her, but I couldn’t help it.

So what other holiday collections are you excited about? Do share!

  1. To be honest I’m pretty disappointed with China Glaze Holiday this year and I don’t think I’m going to pick up anything. Last year I got Ring in the Red and Glittering Garland but this year, meh, nothing really popped out at me. What I am looking forward to from China Glaze is the holo collection that this coming out next year. As for Holiday collections the only one that REALLY impressed me is Zoya. Even OPI Skyfall was just OK.

    1. I totally agree. Once I get the blue and green glitter from this collection, I will be set. I don’t really want anything else…not even the ones I already purchased in my crazy fit. lol Now that I think about it, I don’t think I have been that interested in any of the holiday collections so far…even Zoya. I want two colors from that collection and that’s it. I am wondering if Jessica is putting out a holiday collection…

  2. I was really psyched for Glitter All the Way and Pizaazz when I saw them online, then I saw them in the store and wasn’t too thrilled with them. Now that I see Glitter All the Way swatched, I’m kinda happy I didn’t get it. Kinda reminds me more of a mardi gras polish instead of a Christmas one with the gold, purple, and green flecks. Maybe i’m crazy lol. Cranberry Splash is a pretty red though.

And your cuticles and nails look fine! mine are awful in comparison! me and my fear of pushing my cuticles! hahah

    1. Ok, so my first comment is going to be: WHY ARE YOU AFRAID OF PUSHING YOUR CUTICLES?? 🙂 You can use a cuticle remover that will dissolve them if it bothers you to push them back…they work pretty well.

You did good to stay away. I have to say again that I totally regret buying all of three of these. They are so boring. You are so right that Glitter All The Way doesn’t really look like a Christmas polish. I think Cranberry Splash is nice but I’m sure I have a million dupes already.

    1. LOL! That is a great idea. Although, I wonder if people would be interested in that. I have tons of polishes that I have swatched once and that I probably won’t use again. I’ve thought about a blog sale, but that seems like it would be a pain in the butt.

  3. I agree with Alaina that the glitter looks like Mardi Gras and I agree with you that they are pretty yawn-worthy. BOO! At least you found them super-early…how exclusive! 😉

  4. I want Glitter All the Way and Pizzazz!!! Must have all the multi glitters after I stupidly passed up on OPI Rainbow Connection last year and now I’ll never have it >.< I agree on the boringness though, there are way too many reds in this collection. I really want the two multi colored glitters, but I have to really look at the rest in person to decide if I want.

    1. What’s the green like? It’s one of the two that I want to get. I don’t have that many Orlys so I can’t remember anything similar, but you’re prolly right. I’m going to have to wait and see some swatches. I got a really gorgeous blue glitter from Orly that is part of their holiday collection so maybe I’ll be set with just that one.

    2. I am wearing that Orly blue right now! It’s the ring finger of my Halloween costume mani. Sweet Peacock. I think it is much brighter than Blue Bells, but I haven’t seen Blue Bells in person.
I think Nicole just got that blue Orly holiday glitter yesterday. We are all so sick, haha!

      1. Hahahahahahaha! Yes, we are. I haven’t used the blue Orly yet but it sure looks purdy. I’m going to have to look into this Sweet Peacock–good lord what a name.lol

        1. I know, right? It’s rather unfortunate. But the color is WELL WORTH any questionable naming conventions.
I know I’ve said this before, but I liked quite a few polishes from that Orly Birds of a Feather collection…Lucky Duck, Sea Gurl, Nite Owl, and Sweet Peacock.
