Because I’ve been feeling like freaking shit I went out to get my mind off things and of course I ended up going to one of my nail places to check out some of the old nail polishes I had seen on another trip. I really feel that at this point, I am a nail polish collector so I get excited when I see old stuff. I was wondering if these nail polishes would even be useable without adding some thinner, but I honestly didn’t care because I just wanted them for the bottles.
Here are the two that I picked up:
I love how weird these bottles look compared to the current China Glaze bottles. I think these collections are around 10 years old and when I opened up the bottles, they kind of smelled like death.
That's awesome! Are those even available anymore, like online or anything?
I think you can still find them on Ebay and such. They had other weird collections like the coffee scented collection of all dark browns which looked way cool. Maybe I'll get some of those too.

I can only imagine what chemicals are in these old bottles!! I like the look of the chrome, I can't wait for the swatches. 🙂
I know…my fingers are going to fall off when I wear them. haha! I am going to swatch them next week. I can't wait to go search for other crazy old polishes.
Those bottles are hilarious!! I didn't even know ChG was that old! I wonder if I had some of them back in the day and didn't even recognize them as "China Glaze"!!! And that's funny you said they smelled like death… at first I thought you just meant they stunk like cuz they're old, but I guess it makes sense what everyone is saying about the chemical smell makes more sense. Did the owner of the shop tell you how they got their hands on these, or was it a new shop that just happened to have super-old polishes?
The area where I buy my polishes literally has a beauty supply store on every corner…some even next to each other. lol They are really old, gross and dusty so I don't doubt that they have had these forever. They were kinda hidden way in the back. I love going to those places but I have to take a shower when I get home because I feel dirty. No joke. I've only been into polishes hardcore for around 2 years. I always hated doing my nails before. I wish I had gotten into it earlier but I'm afraid what my collection would look like if my obsession spanned more than a couple of years.
