Happy Saturday everyone! It’s super chilly today so I slept in a bit this morning even though I have a lot of things to do and errands to run. While I worked on today’s mani, I was watching Resident Evil: Retribution which I got from Redbox last night. Ok, I have to admit that I am a huge HUGE fan of horror, sci-fi and zombie/monster movies so I always watch the Resident Evil movies when they come out. I don’t think the story quality of the movies is as good as the first two, but I watch them anyway. Speaking of zombies, do you watch The Walking Dead? Ever since I cut my cable, I have had to watch The Walking Dead online and I haven’t watched it for a couple of months so I can’t wait to find out what has been going on. I love me some bloody zombie stories! Moving on from the undead, today I decided to wear another blue: Sation Dance With The Drummer.
I decided to share two sets of pictures of Sation Dance With The Drummer because I was having some serious issues with photographing this polish. It seems that green and blue polishes are my mortal camera enemies because the color never comes out true to life and to top it all off, I get major lobster hands! Despite my lobster hands issue, I really really love this polish. It is super pigmented and smooth so it only needs two coats for full coverage. When I first saw this polish, I thought that it looked exactly like Sation Rock-A-Guy-Blue which I reviewed here. However, once I took both bottles out, they are definitely NOT dupes, but they are kissing cousins. Rock-A-Guy-Blue is darker and more vibrant while Dance With The Drummer is more dusty. Do you need both, probably not. Would you want both? Uhm, yes please!
The other day, Siobhan posted her swatches of Essence Blue Addicted and I instantly remembered that I hadn’t used my bottle in a while. (You can see her post here.) The first time I used it, I had just cut my nails down to nubs so I don’t think the mani looked as nice. Now that I have some length to my nails, I decided to give it another shot.
Essence Blue Addicted is a pretty dead-on dupe for Deborah Lippmann’s Across The Universe, but I don’t know how readily available Blue Addicted is. I had never seen it at my Ulta so I got mine as a gift from one of my sweet enablers: Sabrina from Polish In Paris. In fact, I think this polish might be discontinued since it is in the old style bottle, but I know Siobhan got hers on super sale recently so they still may be floating around. If you like beautiful glitter and love the combo of blue and green, this is the perfect polish for you! I layered two thin coats over Dance With The Drummer because the base of Blue Addicted is a sheer blue jelly that doesn’t really look good on its own.
Well my dears, what do you think about these polishes? I still have another movie to watch that I got from Redbox last night: Ruby Sparks. I really hope it’s good because I thought the whole premise is so cute when I saw the previews for it. Today is also my crazy cleaning day so I have tons of stuff to clean–mainly the bathroom. I know everyone thinks I’m weird for it, but I do like cleaning the bathroom…especially the tub! I stocked up on Mr. Clean Magic Erasers today so my tub has no idea what’s coming. Muawhahaha! I think my place would be super clean if I lived alone, but since the mooch (aka as my youngest brother) lives with me, he gets everything so dirty. Why do boys have to be so dirty? I don’t get it. I am afraid to step into the bathroom after he has been in there. Don’t even get me started on the scents that emanate from his bedroom…
Well, I hope your day is more interesting than mine which is full of cleaning, laundry and movies. Thanks for stopping by today, and I will talk to you soon.
Disclosure: Sation Dance With The Drummer was provided to me by the manufacturer or their PR firm. Essence Blue Addicted was a gift. For more information, please see my disclosure tab.
Yay Essence! I mainly like their Trend editions though, but I do have a couple of regular Essence polishes, including Blue Addicted. I haven’t worn it that much, because glitter… 😐
I am so bummed that we don’t get all of the nail polishes that you get overseas. There is only one place that I can purchase essence in California and they just carry the regular nail polishes and some make-up. I remember I wanted those nail art duos they put out a while back so bad! I know glitter is such a pain to remove, but I think I have made my peace with it and accept it. lol

Yeah, I don’t think Sation or Essence are easy to get in a lot of places. It’s such a rich dark color…I love it!

Love Blue Addicted! Sadly, we don’t appear to get Essence polish readily in the UK!

We get a pretty limited selection of Essence polishes as well. 🙁 They are great polishes at a great price so I wish had their full range here.

So I’m a turd..all this time I thought it was STATION…not SATION. Why has no on corrected me on this?? I’m slightly embarrassed on how I could possibly read STATION every time…considering how much “Sation” you post, thats a lot of times. I’m going to go hide under something now.
This reminds me of when I first saw the brand illamasqua. Someone had skipped the “i” and I thought it was called llamasqua forever!! In fact when I finally started seeing someone consistently call it the correct name I rememner being like “uh is this a different brand or have I been writing it wrong all this time?” Haha. Anyway since I’m here I’m just gonna say that I also love this polish, want it, but probably can’t get it. Waa for me.

I kind of had the same thing happen with Illamasqua but my problem was that I kept wanting to pronounce it illamas-qua like “aqua” but apparently it’s illamas-ka. Go figure. Waaaaaaaa for you. 😛 You’ll have to stop by TJ Maxx or Marshalls and see if they have any.

LOL that was totally my blog where you commented asking if llamasqua and Illamasqua were the same thing.

Honestly, I have never noticed you calling it Station and if I did, I probably just thought it was a typo or something. hahaha! That’s kinda funny. Sometimes we see a word a certain way and it just sticks in our head.

I used to be way into horror in like junior high. I went through a resurgence in my early 20s because my boyfriend at the time was a HUGE horror buff. I feel like I saw every single horror movie ever made during that time and have (mostly) taken a break since. 😉 I do think I would probably like The Walking Dead, although I haven’t really made an effort to explore it.
“Do you need both, probably not. Would you want both? Uhm, yes please!” <—True story.
I got DL Across the Universe as a gift. I love the look of it, but it chipped like crazy on me. I want to try it with a base color – probably the WnW Blue Moon you originally posted it with!
My crazy cleaning this weekend didn't go so well. There is SO MUCH CRAP in that room. I'm doing it bit by bit, but it's frustrating because 1. who wants to do that in their spare time? and 2. I just want it DONE.
I seriously need to get a Magic Eraser.
I SO HEAR YOU regarding boys. My brother's bathroom is SO DAMN FOUL…I don't even like walking by it, haha. And there is definitely this weird smell that lingers after he showers…I guess it's like his soap or whatever, but it hangs around and I'm just like, ew, boy smell. I guess Axe body wash or whatever it is is better than actually smelly, but…I don't like it.
