My introduction to Jessica polishes came by way of the Peacock Queen Collection that was a dupe of Chanel’s Illusions d’Ombres. I really hadn’t heard much about this brand, but I’ve been pretty satisfied with the polishes I tried so far. My main gripe is that I don’t like the brush at all. I find it hard to work with. I am usually really good about following the curve of my cuticles on my nails with the polish, but the brush on Jessica polishes makes me do some jagged and awkward lines. This color is called Midnight Moonlight and it reminds me of OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue. I don’t think they are dupes but are quite similar. Midnight Moonlight is a lot brighter, I think.
I really feel like I ruined this polish with the stamp. I don’t know what is up with my new Konad white polish because it feels thinner than my other special polish bottles and not as opaque. I really like this design. I got tons of compliments today when I went to the store with these nails. People were asking me where I got them done and they seemed shocked when I told them I did them myself. They thought they were stickers or something. I have a whole little speech about Konad because people are always confused when I say it’s a stamp. It would be funny if I could talk to those people again because I know some of them totally went looking for Konad stuff. I should start giving away little cards with my blog info so they can come and visit later on. lol
So I had started this post earlier in the day before a bomb got dropped in my lap. I am upset, stressed out and really pissed. I’m going to chill for a few minutes with my iced caramel coffee before I even attempt to explain what happened today. So far I like Jessica Cos. polishes, but you are right the brushes don't seem just right. I think they're too narrow and long for me maybe. This shade is purdy though, I love blues.
Bad news is the worst, I hope everything is ok!
I thought it was just me when it comes to the Jessica brushes. Sometimes a brush will kill the polish no matter how pretty it is.
Ahh…the bad news. I am so trying to talk it out in my head. Had a good cry in the shower about it all. I don't know why, but crying in the shower feels kind of therapeutic.
Crys in the shower are the most therapeutic, I think because the washing away of the tears is so damn symbolic! It's just cathartic, and way better than crying on your pillow. Is it just me or does mascara get ALL over pillows during cry sessions even when "waterproof"??
I do hope that everything works itself out and you feel better. I know that when I get bad news, or something catches me by surprise, the hardest part is wrapping my mind around it all. *hugs*

Also- I LOVE THESE NAILS!!!! OH MY GOSH!! I just love blue and white. And your stamping is always so perfect, even when you say it's not. Liar. haha. Also- I saw somewhere that Jessica has some crazy awesome holos… have you tried them?
Jessica's holo is pretty killer, it's the Disco Diva set that came with the aqua base, but I don't know if it is still available. It was my first holo polish actually, and super fun to watch the linear holo settle in to place as it dried!
I am going to have to look up the Jessica Holos. The new nail place I got these from has a huge Jessica display but I don't think I saw any holos at first glance. On a side note, I noticed that they had these really weird China Glaze bottles but they looked kinda gunky so I didn't pay that much attention to them. When I came home, I googled them and they are the Mood nail polishes that change color!!! I have no idea how much they sell them for or if they even work. I want to go check them out again.
OMG seriously, I googled the CG mood polishes and they must be oooooold! I've never even seen that bottle shape for CG before! They seem to be pretty cheap on the ebay, at $3.25 a piece. I wonder if they still work being so old…
I order my Jessica's from their website, I'm not even sure if there is a retailer around here other than a salon. Plus, I think it's only one place around here according to the website.
About the vintage China Glaze…I can't stop thinking about going back. Too bad I can't today but I definitely want to. It looks like they came out around 2000-2001 so they are pretty darn old. I keep reading that they probably won't change color anymore cause they are so old. I'd still like to have some just for the sake of having the cool bottle. lol…is that weird?

Since I've only purchased Jessica's through the website I paid full retail, I just bit the bullet even though I'm a polish cheapskate! Seriously, I hate to pay full price for something I full well know is half price or less somewhere else. Jessica's retail for $7.50 on their website plus about the same for shipping. (bogus)
Omg that is bogus. That is my biggest beef with Zoya. I will only purchase when I have a free shipping code or they are having a ridiculous promo. Their free shipping means I have to buy like 7 polishes all at once…which I have done, but I won't do it all the time. lol Since my Ulta carries limited Zoya, I like to go there first and see if they have anything I want when they have bogo sales or I use their $3.50 coupons.
Yeah, I'm a promo and coupon queen! The best part about Zoya is that nothing is limited edition so if I can't find a color I want at Ulta I just wait for a website promo! Unfortunately I haven't been able to find coupons or promos for Jessica or SpaRitual. My polish purchased are usually in bulk and all at once (it's like I go on a spree!).
I go on sprees when new collections come out. The last full collection I got was CG Hunger Games. Other than that, I will get maybe 80-90% of a collection. Who am I kidding…I always go on sprees when it comes to nail polish. I am going to outgrow my storage very soon. I've never tried SpaRitual but I've seen a lot of swatches. So many brands out there! I kinda want some of the new NARS collection. *sigh*

I'm trying to hang in there…stuff is going to go down today. It's all family related stuff. I'm just feeling really resentful and stressed out about the situation I am in. I have a hard enough time taking care of myself without having to take on every one else's drama.

People are always asking me about my nails- what's up with stamping, how I did them, etc and I try to explain, even wrote down info for konad or bundlemonster plates for people but have never given them my blog address. If we had little card to hand out…. that would be brilliant. Maybe a little over-the-top tho… hmmm….
