“Hello Oscar Mayer Weiner…Lover.”

My hot dog looks a little anorexic and frankly kinda burnt. So what?! It was still good. Oh, 4th of July was a day of ridiculous feasting for my family. We had a bbq and endless snacks. My mom made a beautiful fruit platter so that she could fool herself into thinking that at least we were eating one healthy thing. Yeah, right! The city where I live allows fireworks so we went outside to watch everyone set off their fireworks. My youngest brother bought a bunch and was creating his own by ripping up picolo petes and the like. Boys! Overall, I had a really nice time playing Scrabble and watching movies. I finally watched Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid and I really liked it. I mean, what is there not to like? Robert Redford. Like! Robert Redford. Double Like!! And Robert Redford…

I’ve been super excited about playing with my new Bundle Monster plates so I tried stamping without using my special polishes. I really like the look of the special polishes because they are so pigmented and always produce really crisp designs.  I started with a base of OPI French Quarter For Your Thoughts.

I seriously love this color. It’s so different from all the bright and crazy colors that I have been wearing lately.

I used OPI Ski Teal We Drop as the stamping color and plate BM 319 for the jigsaw puzzle design. This color stamped better than I thought it would. I usually don’t have much luck with stamping using regular nail polish so I’m glad this wasn’t a total disaster. If you like stamping or are interested in getting started, you MUST get these new Bundle Monster plates. They are so much fun and will change the way you do your nails.

How was your 4th of July?

P.S. Do you know where the title of my post came from?

  1. every blog i follow is writing about this BM plates. i need to get my hands on those!! =:::(

it's good to know that opi works on plates too.. i'm still trying to find a good brand to work with my plates 🙁

    1. It's because they are awesome and so cheap compared to Konad. I think that you just have to try a whole bunch of polish colors to figure out what works. I have tried a lot and most of them don't stamp very well except for silver and chrome colors. I think the white and black special polishes are a good investment if you love stamping. 🙂

      1. I love stamping!! Right now I found a colombian brand, Vogue, is the best I've found here.. but i would love if colors could look more, like strong, instead of translucid. A friend of mine has the konad polishes and I do see a BIG difference between stamping with my black polish and konad's. I guess i will buy it when I go to the US in august.

  2. I LOVE hot dogs. I shouldn't, as they are probably very bad for me, but I do. I bought kabob skewers for a cool little do-it-yourself project to spiral cut hotdogs. I cannot wait to try it.

I like these plate designs. They are so quirky. Bundle Monster hyperd the HELL out of them (I'm a fan of theirs on facebook) for about 2 months (I shit you not) before release. I'm glad they live up to the hype. I have a set of plates (second set that was released I think… the 'better set') and I like the quality. Too bad I make such a friggin' mess every time I do it. I ruined two Ikea stools doing that…stripped the varnish off in places… Ooops 🙁

  5. I have a hard time finding non stamping polishes that stamp well too. I always try and use creamy ones when I do but even then sometimes it doesn't work. I like the special stamping polishes, but they're kinda limiting…especially since I only have 4 colors and only ever used 3 of them.

I totally googled your quote. I don't even remember that quote but I remember the episode and love the show, I think I may have only seen that episode once. I'm laughing at the rowboat scene now too 🙂

    1. I think Nicole has the best luck with them. Maybe I'm going to start looking into getting some SH Insta-Dry polishes because those seem to work pretty well. Nothing looks better than the konad polishes, though. Which colors do you have?

LOL the rowboat scene is the best. Then later on, phyllis is like: I don't care. I'm going to set him up with my fat friend.

  6. Um, yes, I do I know where that quote is from!
Burnt hot dogs are THE BEST!
I LOVE these nails. I have not tried my Konad much, but I've tried it without the special polishes and have not had luck. I have the black and white special ones, so I think I need to start there.
"I think I'm being very clear, what I'm asking. Would an average size rowboat support her without capsizing? It bothers me that you're not answering the question."

    1. HAHAHAHA…you are such a The Office freak like me.

Yes, you should start with the special polishes for sure. They are going to be easier to work with and then once you get the hang of it, you can try regular polishes. I haven't tried many regular polishes that stamp well. Nicole seems to get lucky with that! I'm keeping a list. lol

  9. Oh my gosh your hot dog pic made me sooo hungry for hotdogs!!! (side note- as I'm typing this I see a notification on my phone that you just commented on my stamped and dotted nails! We must be on the same time schedule!) Anyway- enough about food…. I love these nails. I just realized last night that this pattern is puzzle pieces! And I love your color combo here. I always talk about contrast on my blog (how I like to wear brights, then neutrals, etc) and I feel like I've been wearing brights non-stop. Time for something like this. I love when I find a regular polish that stamps well. I recently found out that OPI Roll in the Hague works well. Yayyy! Cuz it's a purdy orange 🙂 My favorite.

    1. You know, I tried to use A Roll In The Hague with this one…well, I did a practice stamp on paper and it did stamp pretty well but I went with Ski Teal We Drop in the end. I wanted to get all the special polish colors today but I just got yellow and red. I want green and blue as well. Nothing stamps as well as the special polishes…except maybe chromes. I have 3 of those ancient CG chromes so I'm going to try them out with stamping. Oh, and I seriously love hot dogs. I don't care how many pig assholes and ears are in them. They are yummy.

      1. I got some pig assholes and ears tonight at the store!!! Ooops… I mean I got some hot dogs!!! All because of your post. Yum yum!

I love the konad special polishes and really, they aren't that expensive. I think on amazon they're like 4 bucks so pretty much the same as I pay for my SH insta-dris which is what i always use. I think for Christmas I'm going to ask for a bunch of the konads. You really can't go wrong with them.

        1. LOL…sounds yummy.

They are kinda cheap on amazon but then the shipping kills it. One of the places I go to carries Konad stuff and they sell the special polish for $5 which isn't too bad considering there is no shipping and no tax. I only want a few more different colors like blue, green and purple.

  11. Great colour combo! Love the puzzle pattern. That might be my next stamp image now that i'm inspired 🙂

    1. Thanks! I was so happy to find a nice regular polish for stamping that actually worked! Do you have a blog?

Thanks for stopping by and commenting–means a lot to me! 🙂
