The closer we get to finishing this challenge, the less “inspired” I feel. After yesterday’s gluttonfest, I haven’t eaten anything besides toast today. I guess I am still kind of full. I still have a nice piece of tri tip so I will probably have some of that for dinner. I’ll just have to come up with some interesting side dishes later. So maybe I’m still feeling blah from eating so much junk and that’s why I lagged on doing my nails for today’s nautical inspired nails challenge. Let’s get to it, shall we?
I started out with China Glaze White Out as my base.
I don’t usually paint my nails all white, so it’s really nice to have a nice and opaque white polish to use. This is three very thin coats.
For the nautical part I used a combination of stripping tape and stamping.
I used cheeky plate CH 49 for the wheel design with Adventure Red-y as the stamping polish. It is not a perfect stamping polish so I had to go over the design with a dotting tool and brush when needed which accounts for some of the mess-ups. Still, I don’t think I did too poorly with it.
How is everything with you after your thanksgiving feasting? Did you end up going shopping? I’m happy to report that I have avoided the stores so far and probably will for the rest of the week. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest nail disaster. Our next challenge will be inspired by a celebrity…oh boy! Don’t for get to check out Nicole’s nautical nails over at Polish Me, Please! Talk to you soon.
These are adorable! I love them!
Thank you so much! 🙂

Thanks! I always feel like stamping is kind of cheating but I am not that confident when it comes to free hand designs. I ended up liking this too. 🙂
Those are not a disaster! I like them!! I like that cheeky design (that’s one I’m actually looking forward to out of the set) and I think the combination of the striping and the stamping looks very cool. I also feel a little bit like “let’s get this over with.” I did go shopping and got quite a bit of good stuff. I think I mostly have Daniel done as far as presents go and I got a pretty good deal on a tablet for my Mom from my dad. I sometimes get the presents for him and then he just pays me back. I’m the professional shopper of the family 🙂 I also have eaten exactly nothing today but I think we are about to go get some dinner so yay for that. Tomorrow I’m helping my inlaws move into their new house so boo for that. I think I’d like to sleep for about 14 hours. 🙂
That’s pretty funny that you’re everyone’s shopper. I would go nuts if I had to do that. I know I’m a girl, but I can’t really stand shopping. I like to go in there knowing what I’m going to buy, get it and leave. I can’t be one of those people who can browse for hours.
Are you getting those cheeky plates for christmas? We are ALMOST at the finish line…so proud of us for getting through it but I doubt I’ll be doing another any time soon.
Looks cute! Good summery nail for boating next year
If I ever get on a boat! hehehe I’ve only been on a boat a few times in my life but I actually quite enjoyed it.
love the look of this!

I’m on a boat, motherf***er!
I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about…I think these are AMAZING! I have ChG White Out (it’s my white, haha) and always feel it’s a bit streaky…now I see that it can be done!
The day after Thanksgiving I felt pretty damn fat, haha. Then I made things worse by not really eating all day and then pigging out on Japanese noodles for dinner. And HELL NO I did not go shopping. OMG…no.
Meh…you know how I am. If they aren’t *perfect* I like to diss them. White Out isn’t as hard to work with but you have to apply thin coats and build it up because it really can be streaky.
I am kind of glad that I didn’t pig out as much this year because I actually felt fine. I’ve been eating super weird lately and I’ve been losing weight which is kind of freaking me out because I never lose weight. lol Am I just complaining about losing weight? *facepalm* I didn’t go shopping at all either. I just need to go buy my christmas tree so I can unearth all my decoration from the garage.
