31 Inspired Days of Nail Art – Day 19: Floral Print Nails

I was at a loss today. I didn’t want to do any dotting tool flowers but knew I couldn’t really freehand any flowers unless I wanted my nails to look messy and silly. Stamping to the rescue! As much as I try to stay away from stamping during these challenges, I know that I am just NOT good enough to whip out my nail art brushes and come up with something amazing. Well, let me tell you that stamping didn’t help me much today anyway. I actually did two looks today and I am not really happy with either. I’ll show you the one I settled on first and then I will show you the one that made me try again.

First, I started with OPI We’ll Always Have Paris.

We’ll Always Have Paris is one of my favorite dark polishes from one of my favorite collections: La Collection De France. This polish is just so pretty, super pigmented and shiny.

I used Bundle Monster stamp BM 323 for this rose design and alternated white roses and metallic roses (using Essie Nothing Else Metals.) Why did I do that? I have no idea. I was just kind of irritated and frustrated with my first design. Are you ready to see it?

Ehhhh….I don’t know what to say about these either. I wish I had just stuck with my simple mani of We’ll Always Have Paris and stopped there. As I’ve said before…not every mani is going to be a winner and clearly these are way at the bottom of the totem pole.  The next challenge calls for delicate print…what the heck am I gonna do then?? At least I have a few days to think about it.

  1. Oh boy… Those yellow ones… I just don’t know. Haha. The dark red ones tho I do like! The alternating of the rosey metallic and white is different but it looks nice. Good stamping. 🙂 I actually really like that We’ll Always Have Paris!! I’m not a big fan of reds but these super dark burgundy shades have caught my attention lately. I think I’ll need to find some. I don’t think I have any… better check first. 🙂 Delicate… good luck w that. I resorted to stamping. :p

    1. I know I can always count on your equally critical eye. lol They are pretty hideous as far as I’m concerned but I know that I’m going to find a way to use those flowers. I got a little container of them in the prize pack I won from Amanda’s blog a few months ago. I had been wanting to use them forever but just didn’t know how–apparently I still don’t know how to use them. lol

  2. You are your worst critic. I like both designs. The roses look best in the metallic polish, that would be a nice look for the holidays. And the yellow flowers look more freehand. I think that would’ve worked for the next challenge of delicate print.
    Beautiful work. 🙂

    1. Awww…thank you! 🙂 I think I liked the metallic stamping the best. In fact, I am probably going to end up doing some stamping for the delicate print challenge.

  3. I LOVE your stamped mani (why do I have to be so absolutely terrible at stamping?! SHAKES FIST!) With that being said, I also think your first attempt is very pretty!

  4. Ah…hmm. The yellow ones…points for creativity and I guess even execution! Is that China Glaze Trendsetter and China Glaze I’m Not Lion? Still both untrieds for me, haha.
I love that We’ll Always Have Paris. I kinda agree about maybe just sticking with that color. 😉 I think I’d like this one more if the stamping had been gold or bronze.
I feel rude posting semi-critical comments on your manis…but we’re pals and I heart you bigtime! 🙂

    1. Hahaha…if your friends won’t tell you the truth, who will? lol If that’s the case, Nicole is my BEST FRIEND. hahahahaha! But seriously, I am probably more critical than anyone and the yellow nails are just…bad. The color is actually Classic Camel but Trendsetter is another one of those kinda icky colors. I don’t think I have used it in eons.

    1. Hehe! yeah, they yellow flower ones haven’t gotten too much love from anyone. I will figure out a way to use those flowers cause I love the idea of using them.
