Nails Inc. Sprinkles Polishes & How My Brother Would Starve Without Me

I’ve seriously been drooling over the Nails Inc. Sprinkles polishes so I was psyched when I saw them at Sephora today. I was running low on my MUFE HD foundation so I wanted to go get another bottle. While I was there, I noticed that there was a new Sephora brand foundation that looked exactly like the MUFE HD…bottle design and all. I asked one of the cast members if she would color match me. I knew I had a great cast member when she guessed my MUFE HD color immediately. So I took off my make up and she redid it with the new foundation and she applied blush and bronzer too. Very nice! So far, I absolutely love the new foundation and it’s $22 compared to $42 for the MUFE. If you love your MUFE HD and are looking for a more cost-effective alternative, definitely check this foundation out! I also wanted to try the Anastasia Brow Whiz. I currently use the Anastasia brow powder and apply it with an angled brush, but I wanted to try a pencil now. Well, they were sold out of the brunette shade. Wah, wah!  The Sephora employee showed me a comparable one from their Sephora line and it seemed like a good alternative. (The price was also better: $12 vs. $20). Unfortunately, she must have grabbed the wrong color because when I got home I realized the color is honey blonde. LOL Grrrr. So I’m going to take it back and exchange it for the Midnight Brown.  I also headed to Ross and got a couple of things from their cosmetics section.

As soon as I got home, I had to try out one of my sprinkles polish and I am in loooooooooooooooooove! (Why am I always saying this when it comes to polish?)

I completely adore the way this polish looks!!! You can get away with one coat but adding the second coat adds depth to the polish and how the sprinkle/glitter looks. Nails Inc, you’re killing me…

So here is the rundown of what I got today:

Nails Inc Sprinkles polishes in Topping Lane and Pudding Lane

Doesn’t this look exactly like the MUFE HD bottle??? EDIT: I did not notice this right away but this is not exactly the super amazing, great deal I was touting. The MUFE HD foundation is $42 for 1.01 oz and the Sephora Instant Radiance foundation is $22 for .67 oz. DAMN THEM FOR TRICKING ME! lol Well, it’s my fault for not looking at the bottle more closely.

These are the items I picked up at Ross:

I’ve never tried this line of SH polishes so when I saw these for $1.99 each, how could I resist? I actually saw these at Rite-Aid a few minutes later for like $5.99!!! Same exact polishes.

I am always on the hunt for good cuticle stuff and this was just $2.99 at Ross. I tried it already and I really like it! It’s really thick and leaves my skin really soft even after I wash my hands. It also smells great so double win!

This is what I had for dinner:

You know how they say that if you use smaller plates, you will eat less? Well, that doesn’t quite work when you help yourself to multiple servings…

Since my brother is working late today, I told him I’d leave him some food so he can eat when he gets home.

Oh, the joys of having my little brother live with me. He’s 22 but he is a complete dunce when it comes to cooking anything except cup o noodles. Sometimes I leave him a plate with food prepared and all he has to do is pop it in the microwave and eat it.  I will wake up the next morning, and it’s still there. When I ask him why he didn’t eat it, he tells me that he didn’t know how long to heat it in the microwave and that I was already asleep so he couldn’t ask me. Oh dear Lord, help me. Why would I ever want a child if I have my brother?

How was your Monday? Anything exciting happen? Mondays are always my least favorite day of the week. Well, hope your weekend was pleasant and I am so enjoying the  cooler weather.  Thanks for stopping by and talk to you later!

  1. I like number six, EAT. Dudes are too funny, and they need taken care of constantly… Throughout their entire life! Lol

All your posts about Sephora make me want to go so bad, but it's all the way across town. :'(

    1. He is absolutely ridiculous. I get so mad at him sometimes because he just doesn't know how to do basic stuff. He still doesn't have his driver license. Can you believe that? No driver license in Southern California!!!!! Oh, and get this: my other brother GAVE him a car. GAVE HIM A CAR. If that's not enough motivation, I just don't know what to think. However, he is my little love. I torture him to death but I adore him. He is a very sweet kid no matter how annoying he is sometimes. Since I'm 10 years older, I think I have more of a motherly type of relationship with him in the sense that I take care of him a lot. No wonder he won't move out…LOL

My Sephora is about 5 minutes away and that is seriously deadly. DEADLY. Plus, mine is one of the 3 stores in the country with a MUFE Boutique inside the store. That's another problem altogether. That's too bad yours is kinda far…I think the Venetian one also has a MUFE boutique if I remember correctly.

      1. No license!? Does he just ride the bus then? I remember riding the bus when I didn't have a car and I could never go back to it… at least not in Vegas. I'm 8 years older than my brother but he still lives at home with my parents. He just graduated HS so who knows when he'll get out there on his own. Probably not going to move in with me since I live 2000 miles away!

I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I lived that close to Sephora! I don't ever go to the shops on the Strip, it is way too much hassle. If I'm down there I'll be all over it, but usually I make it to the Town Square location.

        1. His job is like 15 minutes away by foot so he usually rides his bike. His college is also really close so he rides his bike as well. I just don't get why he won't get his license. I mean, doesn't he want to go places??? I also remember riding the bus before I had a car. In fact, my first semester of college, I didn't have a car so I had to take the bus…it took 2.5 hours!!!!!!!! Each way. It was a nightmare but I had the best grades ever since I spent that time reading and doing my homework. lol

It is definitely dangerous having a Sephora so close. There are some really great employees at my location too so they are beyond evil when it comes to enticing me to get stuff. One of the guys who does videos for Sephora on youtube is based out of my location. The first time I saw him there, I almost had a coronary and I was jumping up and down so excited to meet him. He was so freaking awesome!

  2. I'm not sure I'm convinced by the sprinkles polishes. I saw them online a wee while ago and almost bought them but they don't call out to me the way some other polishes do!

    1. I think they are definitely different. I feel much better about matte glitter as opposed to sparkly glitter. I was also completely won over by the wonderful formula. I'm sure other brands will start rolling their versions out too. 🙂 I'd sign up for those right away. hehehe

  3. Your note to your bro is awesome. I love how you instructed him to eat and then also ps wash the dishes or I'll be pissed. Haha. Looks like a note is leave my brother or my husband. :p

Oooh the sprinkles!!! I love them! I want that blue so bad but there's no way a) I'm making it out to sephora this week and b) I can spend that type of money on one polish right now. Weddings and vacations (coming up) are killing me. These are the two colors I see everyone gets of the sprinkles, are there many more? Oh and I'm practically addicted to cuticle creams. If I see one that I haven't tried I'll buy it in like .06 seconds. I just love new hand stuff. My hands are looking ROUGH these days courtesy of being out in the park everyday playing catch and hooking up the hoses and stuff to wash hands and everything else. :-/ Time for me to go to Ross! I always forget they have nail stuff!!

    1. And guess what? He didn't eat. LOL I think even that was too complicated for him. I can't wait to hear what his explanation is about why he didn't eat. It's almost 3 pm and he's still asleep. *sigh* If he wouldn't stay up the whole night playing video games, he would get up a normal time but nooooooooo.

I do love the sprinkles polishes. A LOT. There are 2 other colors but they're not as interesting. I think the base colors are kind of blah so I passed on them. I think Nails Inc. Is the most expensive polish I can buy right now. I know it's *just* $9.50 BUT it's only .33oz which bites. I still love them, though.

I am the same way about trying new hand stuff. During my last Zoya binge, I got a free sugar scrub so I use some of that and squirt some cuticle oil on my hands and rub them together. It seriously exfoliates and moisturizes…it's amazing. L'Occitane has an oil/sugar scrub for your hands but it's hella expensive so that's my cheapo version of it. Oh yeah…definitely check out the nail stuff at Ross. They didn't have Essie this time but they had tons of other stuff.

  8. men always need to be taken care of.. it's amazing the things i see my husband doing.. sometimes i wonder, how did he manage to survive 3 years living by his own?

i love sephora, i would die to have sephora in Panama! When i lived in Italy i loved to go there, i still have some polish i bought back then (january 2009) and still working..
my foundation is almost over, so i can't wait to go to sephora on my trip! YAYY!! i think i will starve in chicago, but at least i'll get my fashion stuff.

    1. They are so helpless sometimes. They remind me of babies. Or maybe they just act like that so we take care of them. I am sure that if push comes to shove, they will find a way! 🙂

Where in Italy did you live? I looooooove Italy but haven't been there in a long time. Is it crazy that we choose beauty/fashion stuff before food? LOL

  9. Interesting about the foundation! I will keep it in mind. I kind of stopped using the MUFE because they never had my shade in-stock, so I'd order it online, and it would come in kind of goopy and be a big mess.
I don't currently use anything on my brows, but have been considering it. I've been trying to avoid adding another product to the arsenal, haha.
I'm not a huge matte finish fan in general, but I can see the appeal of those polishes.
Now I want pasta! Maybe tonight. I think I have everything.
Another similarity that we both live with our brothers! Mine is slightly less helpless (I said slightly), but he is also older than yours by 4 years. He became more functional when he had a girlfriend, although then he was less helpful (too cool to help me with stuff because he had plans). Regardless, the cohabitation is overall going better than expected.

    1. Oh, and I also forgot to mention that my brother took forever to get his license, too! I forget even how old he was…it was right before I got my appendix out because I remember being kind of freaked he was driving to the hospital…maybe 3-4 years ago?

      1. Do we have some weird parallel lives or something? LOL I think my other brother told me that he was reading an article about today's youth and how they are taking longer to get a license…I'm going to try to search for that article. I hate driving but it's almost impossible to function in so cal without a car. Did he ever say why he took so long to get his license? Maybe I will gain some insight into my brother's situation. lol

    2. I had the same think happen when I ordered my MUFE online. It was all gross and had leaked out a bit. I was so annoyed. I don't really have a problem getting my shade in store but I've been trying to use up the other foundations I have before they go bad. I still have some clinique but they have horrible shade selections and they are all pink based (I have yellow undertones) and the NARS I have is too dark. I always have to mix them up to get something that works.

Ugh! brothers. My brother has been living with me for about 4 years now and we definitely went through a rough patch (like when he threw a party when I was out of town and trashed some of my stuff), but we got past it. I don't mind helping him if he's working and going to school but if he was just being a lazy ass, I would have kicked him out eons ago. The extra bedroom could be such an awesome nail studio. LOL

      1. So I think I am roundabout-ly to blame for the license thing. I got into a bad accident when I was 17 and the people served papers 364 days later (you have 365). My father had passed away in the meantime and the $ they were asking for would've bankrupted our family. They thankfully and eventually settled, but my mom wouldn't pay for his insurance because she didn't want to be responsible. However, that only accounts for a two years of an excuse (if I was 18, he was 14, so that only accounts for 2 years). He was working and easily could've paid for it himself. I think he also claimed lack of experience for a while, but he took no initiative to ask about practicinf or taking classes or whatever. He also had a car waiting for him. So I say minorly due to my history, mostly due to excuses/lack of motivation.
Also, I made pasta last night thanks to your pics and I literally cooked it all, plated it, hand-delivered it to my brother while he's on the couch playing video games, and did the dishes. Super-sweet :/

        1. That sounds so traumatic. 🙁 Wow…what a terrible experience. I'm glad you came out of it, though…hope no one was too badly hurt.

I can see how that would make your brother not want to drive…it was probably in the back of his mind. Ever since my brother told me that his lack of transportation bothers me more than it bothers him, I've just let him live with it. I don't give him rides anymore. He is pissed right now because he took his written test and it took him 4 tries before he passed. Since he never did anything to take his behind-the-wheel test, I guess his permit expired and he has to start all over. LOL I told him that I'm looking forward to his next 4 attempts. Mean, I know.

LOL…you are a loving sister. I know our brothers can get to us sometimes, but they are still our little brothers. I don't care how old he is, he's always going to be the baby of the family…and maybe that's why he will continue to act like one!

  10. I am in loooooove with the 2 nail inc !

  13. Polish is wrong to eat…so why does my brain think this looks tasty? Oh dear…

I have such a hate-hate relationship with foundation. I am scared to try new foundation…. MAC broke me out November last year and I JUST got over it (seriously, it was AWFUL!) but their concealers are 'safe'. I use Cover Girl and it's 'safe' but I don't trust expensive foundations anymore… What I have seems to be working for now.

My brother can't cook for shit. He doesn't eat though. He eats burgers and fries and drinks pop, but he rarely cooks for himself. He lives alone in a town close to my parents, and visits them when he does his laundry (every wednesday). He has a job and a car and he pays his bills. I am proud of him. He's my best friend.

Oh, you guys were talking about how your brother doesn't drive, I think I have you guys beat. My boyfriend just got his driver's license this February at the ripe old age of 28. Toronto punishes you for owning a vehicle in taxes, licensing, parking and insurance and the bus takes you everywhere you want to go, so I don't blame him at all. I had to get my license at 16 though because there are no buses in the country. I'm the primary driver in this relationship, lol.

    1. What I say is if it works, keep using it. I have a really hard time finding foundation because my undertones are so yellow and I'm dark. Bobbi Brown is the queen of yellow but then it's a little too much yellow for me: hello jaundice! I wish I could find a less expensive foundation that really worked for me. I am afraid of trying MAC precisely because I break out very easily with new things. I noticed I got two blemishes from the Sephora foundation yesterday. 🙁 I hope it was just a fluke…I'll keep an eye on it.

Well, I wish I didn't have to drive. Public transportation is a joke in Orange County so it really is almost impossible to function without a car. Congratulate Nitz for me. LOL Maybe my brother will get his before he turns 28 but I'm not holding my breath. He flat out told me that he didn't care so why should I? LOL Cause I want a chauffer! hahaha

  14. Interesting about the foundation! I will keep it in mind. I kind of stopped using the MUFE because they never had my shade in-stock, so I’d order it online, and it would come in kind of goopy and be a big mess.
