Jindie Nails Strawberry Cupcake

Every time I look at this nail polish, I keep thinking of Strawberry Shortcake. Do you remember that cartoon?

Why can’t cartoons be so cute and innocent nowadays? It kind of makes me sad when I think that kids today don’t really have a real childhood. I’m just 33, bur I remember not having a cell phone or computer and actually going outside to PLAY! What a novel idea! Oh boy…here I am on one of my tangents. Let’s get down to the polish, shall we? Today I am sharing a quick swatch of Jindie Nails Strawberry Cupcake.

Jindie Nails Strawberry Cupcake

I purchased this mini of Jindie Nails Strawberry Cupcake during the last restock a couple of weeks ago. I haven’t purchased mani minis from any brand so I was curious about the bottle and brush. In short (pun–ha!), the brush is pretty short and I felt like I couldn’t really get the polish and glitter on it. What I ended up doing is adding a few drops of thinner and then let it sit upside down for a while. After I did that, it was pretty easy to get glitter on the brush without having to fish for it like crazy.

Jindie Nails Strawberry Cupcake Swatch

Strawberry Cupcake is a glitter explosion (duh!) in a delicate milky pink base. I see white, magenta, purple and teal hex glitters in many different sizes. I applied 3 super thin coats for these swatches because I didn’t want the polish to look crazy thick .

I’m going to keep this post short and sweet because it’s about time for me to take 3 cup shots of Nyquil and go to bed. No, I’m NOT joking. That’s the only way I have been able to get some rest lately. I am just glad that I was able to pull it together today and do this quick swatch.

You can find Jindie Nails at her etsy shop and at various online stockists. If you want to get direct updates regarding her next restock, make sure that you check out her Facebook page. What do  you think of Strawberry Cupcake? Let me know! Thanks for stopping by today, and I will talk to you later. 🙂

  1. haha thanks for the retro, i remember having a strawberry shortcake doll and her hair smelled pretty! And I played outside as well :0 Love the swatches!

    1. I don’t think I ever had the doll but I think I did have a Rainbow Brite doll or maybe a board game…I’m not sure. I used to live for going outside and cause trouble in the neighborhood. It’s so different from what I see now. Kids wants to stay in and play video games or be on their puters 24/7. It’s kinda sad if you ask me. 🙁

But thanks! 🙂 This polish is cute and I need something cute and soft right now that I’m still feeling like a train ran me over.

I remember strawberry shortcake. She was so cute.
When I was younger, I was also outside playing or inside reading. I mean, I had a phone but it was for smsing or calling. We didn’t have bbm and what not then.

  3. i loved strawberry shortcake.. rosita fresita.. i still remember the song in spanish.. and el panadero de pasteles del pueblo pam pam…
my mum had to buy me a VHS recorder so I could record all the chapters and watch them all day over and over again.. we have a very rainiy country and in school time it always rains in the afternoon..

i wish they rerun the cartoon on boomerang. it was the best.

regarding the polish, i love the creamy glitter indies, and of course this is not an exception!

    1. These milky/creamy based polishes are really popular right now. I like them but maybe I am seeing too much of them. Yeah right…I’ll probably get more. hahaha. Omg, my brother used to watch Toy Story every single day when he was little so I got so sick of it…how did you watch the same episodes over and over? lol

  4. Thats such an odd looking mini bottle. I don’t think it like that shape, I feel minis are hard enough to get polish out that the bottle being short and wide would make getting polish/glitter out even harder. It’s a cute polish though. And can I say how much I’m hating all the remakes of our childhood memories from the 80’s and 70’s (for you older folk out there). Characters used to be pudgy and cute and now they’re all glamified barbie versions…even my little pony looks slim. 😐

    1. You are so right!!!! When I first saw this bottle, I thought it was cute…until I tried to get the polish out. It was super hard until I thinned it and left it upside down for a while. Don’t you remember how glam Jem used to be??? She was my hero. lol

  5. OMG, Strawberry Shortcake! I used to have a Strawberry Shortcake play baby carriage, plus probably some other stuff that I don’t remember.
I like the polish! I bet that Sation you posted (the one under J-E-L-L-O) would be a good base for it.
And Jem was the best! I actually tried on a Jem costume for Halloween this year and it just didn’t look how I wanted it to (the top was kinda big and the bottom was super-short). I had the Jem doll and I think one of the Misfits, too.
