I’m A Hazard To Myself

Today’s workout left me feeling a lot better. I didn’t push myself as hard, and I thankfully don’t have a headache like the last two days. I’ve been having a really hard time sleeping since I started up with the gym. I toss and turn all night and wake up pretty much every hour. I don’t know what’s going on but it’s not pleasant.  I hope it’s just my body getting used to the exercise.

This is my third day of going to the gym and every day I think I keep seeing someone that I know. However, I can’t be sure because I don’t wear my glasses when I’m sweating on a machine so I can’t really tell if it’s really him. I know he goes to my gym so that’s what makes me think it’s him. I HATE him. I don’t say this often about people, but this guy is just a fucking asshole. I fired his psycho ass at my last job because he kept undermining me and my number 2. He just had this huge chip on his shoulder; I think his midget ass had a mean case of the Napoleon Complex. (Sorry to the short people out there. I’m short too.) So if it is him, he probably wouldn’t come up to say hi to me. If he did, I’d probably throw my sport drink at his face. My only regret is that I didn’t fire him sooner.

So moving on from a waste of space guy, I was getting really irritated at the gym today because my ipod was acting wonky. It got stuck on one song for like 30 minutes: Sarah McLachlan’s Possession. That is so NOT a workout song. Then it got stuck on Blind Melon’s No Rain. Then it got stuck on Spin Doctors’ Two Princes. I was not having any luck with my ipod. It finally started acting normal and I got to my workout mix. I guess I was already pissed about my ipod and about the assholio guy I think I see at the gym so I was getting irritated by people’s gym behavior. First of all, if you’re not going to the gym to work out, get the fuck out and off the machines so that people who are there to work out can do so…especially when it’s busy. Get out of the gym if you’re just there to socialize and check out people…you’re using up my oxygen. If all you can do the whole time you’re on the stair climber is check yourself out in the mirror, I hope you fall on your face. If you stop mid-workout to take a picture of yourself  in the mirror to post to your youtwitbook, I hope your phone explodes. People can be so freaking annoying and dumb sometimes.

I missed the first 30 minutes of Grey’s Anatomy because I was taking a shower after the gym. Grrrrrr. Now I’m watching Scandal. Is anyone else getting into this show? Because I’m just starting to like it so that means that it’s probably going to get cancelled. I still have not gotten over Dollhouse being cancelled…and V. I was really liking V.

Tomorrow is Friday. I don’t have many plans for the weekend…just a workout with one of my friends and sushi and a movie with my sister-in-law on Saturday. I am looking forward to both! I haven’t had sushi in a while and I’m going to allow myself one “cheat meal” per week. Sushicoma, here I come!

  1. GUESS WHAT?? I might be getting insanity! I hate working out in front of other people (that's why I jog in pitch darkness lol) so a DVD is perfect for me. I applaud you for going to the gym so much. Assholio! hahaha I might have to use that one. I'm often afraid I'll run into people from my last job; bunch of crazy females…didn't cut ties too cleanly. Using up my oxygen…tell em, girl!! When I lived by a huge college campus, I'd go to the gym late at night and it wasn't busy at all, it was so peaceful & I never felt on display or inconvenienced in any way. Good old days. I've never watched Grey's Anatomy…I know, I know. I've seen House & Scrubs. Is E.R. any good? And do you have Netflix? I know I saw Dollhouseon there! Haven't watched it, either, though. Maybe I should! I liked Eliza in that one show she was in…with Zach Galafanakis (sp, obvi). I'll have to see what Scandal and V are. Enjoy your workout, sushi and movie. If there's a roll with steak…eat it for me!! Well, this weekend we'll be looking at more houses, my dumb friends want me to hang out…I actually didn't get home until 3 this morning because I saw the midnight showing of The Avengers–it's great!!

    1. I am definitely not up to the Insanity thing. I think I would have like 5 heart attacks. I'm trying to work myself up to doing more and more. My old trainer used to tell me that I had a lot of endurance–which is true. I've just been out of the gym for like 6 months (and my thighs can attest to that) and it's hard to get back to where I was.

      I need to figure out when their off hours are so I can go at those time. Usually after 9pm is good but that only works right now because I'm not working. I used to go at 4 am and even then, it was starting to get busy by 5.

      I live off Netflix. They have awesome shows on there. I'm trying to watch less TV and just be more active. Ooohhhh I want to see The Avengers badly! I hope my sis in law will want to see it this weekend since we're supposed to go watch a movie.

  2. Sushi is high in protein! I never feel guilty eating sashimi! The rice on the other hand….

    People do that?? Take pictures of themselves while working out? I'd be mortified! I would never post a pic of me looking ll sweaty and self-pitying (which I feel today lol). That's so ridiculous… I wish I had a gym membership, but my runs and videos seem to be working for now.

    I don't have any plans. Nitz is working on saturday and sunday..well….nothing I guess. Enjoy your weekend!

  3. I was on the treadmill and this girl in front of me stopped, posed in front of the mirror and took a picture like those stupid bathroom mirror pictures so many people take. lol I rolled my eyes. The whole time she kept looking at herself in the mirror and played with her hair. For fuck's sake, put it up in a pony tail or something!!!!

    I bought a pre-paid gym membership for 2 years at costco so it came out to like $13 a month which is obviously a real bargain. Paying $45+ for the gym per month is kinda cray cray.

    Well, since the bf will be away, I'm sure Dante will be happy to monopolize your time. 🙂

  7. UGHHHH!!!! I don't go to the gym anymore but when I used to go all the time (mostly to swim but also to use their busted-ass ellipticals, I have since got my own eliptical for the garage) people were there wearing LITERALLY 3x the amount of makeup I wear when I'm going out!! I did NOT realize the gym was for people to check each other out. I think people go 55% for socializing (real or fake hence the tacky mirror pics) and 45% for working out. I can't take all these annoying people! I can't even bear to get on FB anymore, like half of my Pinterest pins are FB-hating and I have deleted about a third of my FB friends. I am so sick of it all!!! I can't stand the people posting pics of themselves at the gym, all their healthy meals and statuses about going to the gym. I know for a fact these people don't go every day like they act and then when they do go they post about it like it's all they do. I mean, whatever motivates you is great, but it is so FREAKING annoying!! And if I have to see ONE more instagrammed self portrait that people post for the SOLE intent of everyone telling them how pretty they are I am going to shoot myself. For sure.

    1. LMAO. You are just as rant-filled as me. I am not on my own personal fb as much anymore except for a group I am in with some awesome ladies. My blog fb is completely separate now. 🙂
