Wen Week 1

After one week of using Wen, I don’t think I’ve ever been more comfortable with the condition of my hair and scalp. First of all, I would like to say that I have hair that is thin, fine, wavy, curly and prone to frizz. Despite all this, I still like my hair because it can be styled so many different ways. For the last 8 months, I have been cutting my hair very short because long hair just annoys me. Is it weird that it creeps me out to feel hair touch my neck and shoulders? Anyway, one of the things that I do hate is how oily my scalp gets. I cannot go a day without washing my hair, and I had gotten into the habit of washing my hair twice a day. When I read how the Wen cleansing conditioner works, I was skeptical about how it could possibly clean my hair AND my scalp if it didn’t lather and was basically a conditioner. I imagined my scalp being a disgusting oil slick.

I was shocked how soft and manageable my hair felt after just one use. My hair felt clean and my scalp was not oily at all. I washed my hair twice a day the first 2 days until I decided to cut back to once a day not knowing what I would find the next morning. Well, my scalp and hair still felt clean! I had a normal amount of natural oils…nothing like before. The best part is that I don’t even have to use any styling products. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! Yes, my hair is just soft and manageable without having to use balms, gels or hairspray.

Yes, it just the first week but boy am I impressed! More to come…

  1. Wow!! I'm glad you're happy thus far with Wen. While I don't have the oily scalp issue, I'm a curly girl too prone to frizz ocassionally. I'm still hesitant to take the Wen challenge, but they do have that money back guarantee. I should go for it…hmmmm

  2. Thanks for the update! I saw Chaz's face on a commercial today and it made me think of your Wen post. Im closer to giving in, but I might try the amazon route cause I think when you order it from Wen online they automatically send it to you on a monthly basis. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    1. Yes! I actually read horror stories of them continuing to send you a monthly supply despite calling them to cancel. I only ordered from them because of those swagbucks points I mentioned in my first post. I am actually calling tomorrow to "cancel" to see if they offer me a lower price. If they don't, I will cancel and buy from Amazon too.

  7. My hair is kinda fine, but there's a lot of it so I guess it's fine but thick?? Does that even make sense? Anyway and it's like dirty blonde and oily as heck, also wavy and prone to frizz especially when I leave it natural. I think I'm gonna need to try this stuff. I just can't take his lion's mane seriously and it makes me wanna rawwwwwwwwrrrrrrrrrrrrrr at him. haha. Since you keep singing its praises tho I think I might try it. Thanks for the update!

    1. I called them today to cancel it…not because I don't love it but because I think it's too pricey at $30 a month plus shipping and handling. I wanted to see how low they would go to try to keep me. They ended up offering $19.99 a month but I know for a fact that they go as low at $9.99. I cancelled it and will wait for a better offer from them. They send those "please come back to us" emails and that's where I have seen the $9.99 offers. In the meantime, I am going to buy wen from Amazon. I read that the cucumber aloe formula is the best for oily hair so I'm going to try that one next. I used to have A LOT of fine hair too but because of meds and some medical issues, my hair has significantly thinned. It's like in my late 20's all hell broke loose. I'm 32 now and hopefully things will start to settle down a bit…cause you know menopause is right around the corner. lol

      1. I think you still have some time!! haha. Maybe I'll try getting it on Amazon (or rather ask for it for my bday, haha) and see how it works for me. It sounds like it might work really well. Im shocked that it doesn't make your hair all greasy, cuz that's all I could think of when I see the commercial.

        1. Exactly. I thought it would be disgusting on my hair…how can conditioner that basically feels like a thick hand lotion clean my hair?! But yup…it does. It's even squeaky clean by the time I finish rinsing. Wen should pay me for this…
