The Lacquer Ring – Pink Holo

Hey, look! The Lacquer Ring is back! It feels like it’s been forever since we posted, and I’m still confused about the success of my Cherry Blossom nails. I ended up liking them but I wasn’t thinking they were anything special…and then they ended up on StumbleUpon and they got over 25,000 views on imgur. What the heck?! For real, yo. Anyway, today Amanda has chosen her color: Pink (holo or neon). Uhm, thanks Amanda for choosing my color of the moment! Of course I had to go holo so I ended up using Jade Déjà Vu.

Gorgeous, right? I’ve used this polish a couple of time already in recent times so you know it’s a favorite considering the amount of polish I have. Then I decided to stamp over it for shits and giggles.

This is plate MoYou London Pro Collection 18 (press sample). I think I’ve used half of the images on this plate so far. Love them all!

I went with this image because it doesn’t completely hide the beautiful polish. I’m not going to lie: I like this a lot. What do you think?

Forgive my sporadic posting lately. I’ve still been trying to get use to my new job so sometimes I am just mentally exhausted by the time I get home. Even though I haven’t been posting every day, I have been doing my nails and wearing my favorite polishes. I wore OPI DS Pewter for 2 days!!! Omg…one polish for 2 days. That’s unheard of for me and my swatching ways. It’s nice to take a break once in a while. I hope you liked my pink holo creation and don’t forget to check out the other posts below. The Beauty Buffs – Neon Everything

Hello everyone! We’re *almost* halfway through the week, and I’m already dreaming about the weekend. Today I am posting with my fellow bloggers who make up The Beauty Buffs and we are excited to bring you NEON EVERYTHING! I don’t know if you like neons as much as I do, but I just find that neons really scream summer and just make everything more fun. That’s not to say that I’ll go neon overboard, but neon nails are always a nice pop. I do have tons of neon polishes, but when I saw these pretty polishes the last time I was doing a quick polish run, I couldn’t resist picking them up.

Jade Hot Pink - Jade Mysterious Pleasure - Jade No Non-sense

To be honest, I had seen Jade Nail Lacquer many times, but I never paid much attention to them because they are super cheap–like $1 each. I should know better than to judge polish solely on price since I have some amazeballs Sinful Colors that perform better than $30 polishes. Anyway, these colors are, from left to right: Jade Hot Pink – Jade Mysterious Pleasure – Jade No Non-sense.

I wish my pictures showed how electric these colors are in real life. Most of the time my camera does a decent job with neons, but it just would not cooperate with these colors. This mani is just a little funky and I liked wearing it. The formula on these polishes was pretty nice. They did need 3 coats to be completely opaque but that’s not a big shocker considering they are full on neons. For $1 each, they are a steal.

Then I decided to pull out my two super favorite bright pink cosmetics…

Nars Desire is like bright cotton candy. You can’t imagine how easy it is to end up looking clownish if you go a little too heavy with this blush–but it’s gorgeous!!

And my favorite lipstick of the moment: Illamasqua Eurydice. It’s electric so I always wear very neutral make up except for the lips because otherwise I’ll look like a drag queen–not that there’s anything wrong with that, but that’s not the best work look. Actually, this is NOT a work lipstick. hahaha

Jade Vermelho Surreal

Hey, how was your Monday? Mine was pretty busy but I can’t complain–well, I can but I decide not to. That’s quite a revelation for me because complaining is apparently one of my favorite pastimes. I think that I’ve just come to realize that the more I complain, the worse I feel. It’s not to say that complaining is bad, but when all you do is complain, then that just has the potential to make you feel even worse.My life isn’t perfect, but maybe it’s what I need right at this moment. Another thing I need at this moment is to get MORE RED HOLOS and that is where Jade Vermelho Surreal steps in. I actually have two bottles of this beauty that were gifts from two amazing and lovely ladies: Lesley and Amy. I was so excited to get these that I didn’t even want to wear them cause they are just too lovely to use. Of course that thinking is just ridiculous, but I know that some of you understand! Let me show you what this polish looks like depending on the lighting.

Jade Vermelho Surreal looks a little more orange and coppery with artificial lighting. The holo effect is a little weak in this type of lighting but you can definitely see it.

This lighting is comparable to what the polish will look like in the sunlight. Isn’t it gorgeous? I wore this to work yesterday and I felt so sneaky because it looked work appropriate indoors but the rainbow was blinding once I left the office. The formula on this polish is really amazing as it only needs two coats and it dries super shiny.

Jade Déjà Vu

I’m having a good day today. You know those days when everything flows just right, work is fine and you’re just in a lighthearted mood? Yep, that’s me today. I wish I had more of these days because I feel so much better and optimistic about things. Even though I am back to working Saturdays, I hope it’s a nice…at least I get to sleep in until 5 am. LUCKY ME!! Since I’m in such a fantastic mood, I decided to show you a polish that is just as bright and cheery. Just when you thought you were on holo overload, Jade Déjà Vu swoops in to sweep you off your feet. Don’t believe me? Check it out below.

Jade Déjà Vu is a hot pink holo from the Holográfico line. Isn’t it absolutely gorgeous? The holo isn’t as crazy linear as other holos, but it is still rather breathtaking–especially because I love pink polish. This awesome polish was a gift from the awesome Amy who sadly doesn’t blog much anymore and whose posts always cracked me up. The formula on these Jade holographic polishes is awesome because they are super opaque and don’t apply like regular holos. They dry shiny and glossy which I love!

Jade Holografico Hypnose

I consider myself a very polite person. I can still remember my mom scolding me as a kid when I didn’t say hello to everyone if we had visitors. Sadly, I don’t see that children–or adults–seem to care about manners as much anymore. It’s something that definitely bothers me. For example, today I went to the bank and as I was leaving, a man was coming towards the entrance so I went out of my way to hold the door open for him and he just walked right through and didn’t bother saying thank you or anything. I am the type of person who will hold to door open for anyone–male or female–so when someone doesn’t even bother acknowledging the gesture, it makes me hope they trip and fall on their face as they walk through the door. Mean? Whatever.

Moving on to nicer things, I want to show you this really amazing polish that Amy sent me recently. Let me tell you a little bit about Amy…she’s freaking hilarious and she is a super sweetheart. We kind of struck up a conversation via email when I was doing my blog sale stuff, and she was so KIND and encouraging when I was having such a craptacular time. Right before I found a job, I was really blue and panicking about my financial future and she picked some polishes out to send me as a pick me up gift. What a sweet and wonderful gesture on her part…and they ended up being congratulatory polishes since I fortunately found a job shortly thereafter. Once again, here is another person that I would have never met if not for this little blog. Amy has a blog too so make sure you drop by some time. I love reading her posts especially when they involve matador’s butts. Yep, you read correctly. (Click here for her blog.)

This is Jade Holografico Hypnose. Why is it that so many crazy gorgeous polishes are coming out of Brazil lately? This holographic beauty is the blue I have always dreamed about. Although the linear holo is not as strong as say, my Laylas, it’s still awesome and I can’t get over how intense the color is. I wish I had taken some pictures of it in the sun because it looks even more amazing with direct and bright sunlight. I don’t think I will ever get tired of holos!

Believe it or not, I need to get back to cleaning. I am a loser without a life. It’s Saturday night, and I’m enjoying cleaning my whole apartment. What’s wrong with me, you ask? I just like cleaning. I actually spent a good part of the day watching House Of Cards on Netflix. Oh my God, have you watched that show? It’s an original Netflix 13 episode series with Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright and Kate Mara. Holy shiznit it’s really good. The only bad part is that I am on episode 12 now so what am I going to do when it’s over???? I wonder if they are going to produce more episodes…I need to know! I also swatched the Zoya Pixie Dust collection so that will be going up on my blog early next week. Now I need to start swatching the China Glaze Avant Garden collection as well as the Venique Goes To Hollywood collection. Seems like I will have a busy Sunday as well.
